Came here at 9:30am on Friday as the seafood center was opening. They have a substantial variety of fish to choose from and the man who helped us was so nice, helpful and knowledgeable. It was really refreshing bc some places can be really intimating if you don't know what you are doing/ what you want.I left with 1lb each of sushi grade salmon and ahi tuna as well as 4 hamachi collars from their freezer at a stellar price! We had a dinner party later that night and everyone was impressed by the quality! Definitely will be coming back!

Such a wonderful business. Great selection, fair prices. We bought a couple of large lobsters and cocktail shrimp for New Year's. Great way to steam in the New Year. This is the place for good quality fish, especially now that local crab season is open.

Everything I could have wanted seafood wise was there and fresh from calamari to black cod.The prices aren't much lower if at all than a regular high end'ish supermarket but the variety is welcomed. Highly recommend.

The best choice for fresh seafood in the Richmond district, and at reasonable prices. Known for live dungeons crab, but also have all the well known staples, various salmon, mussels, clams, Halibut... you get the picture. I always keep my eye open for something wild pacific caught, and there are frequent different seafood choices based on availability. The servers happily clean and prepare your fish to your needs, which saves the messy job in your home kitchen.

Came here looking to buy some fresh Dungeness crabs as the other places that we went to were not as fresh. The price per pound the day after Thanksgiving was $15. Multiply that by 4 - 2+ lbs/each came out to $132. Also bought some Bay shrimp, Manila clams and abalone for cioppino . Many folks may not know this but Seafood Center is the retail side for H&N which is the processor and distributor for their seafood and shellfish. All one big family. What I like about this place when I can't get my usual seafood frommy distributor is that the place is clean, displays are fresh and when looking for lobsters they are placed in different tanks by their weight. I normally buy my lobsters around 1.75 per lb as one wants a sweeter meat. The heavier they are they are not as good and the shells are harder to crack.

The store is small, which I liked. It's easy to choose the fish and shellfish you need if you're in a hurry. I got half a pound of farmed salmon for sashimi. I asked the fishmonger if he could cut it into sashimi slices and he said they don't do it but changed his mind later on which I really appreciated! They also had freshly grated wasabi for $3! Service is great and I paid $8 for the fish which was a good price for me personally. However the fish lacks the salmon flavor. It tasted like what the store smelled like. The silver skin or gray meat is tough and was still attached onto each slice, making it difficult to eat. The texture of the desirable part was good, but had little flavor. We ended up brining it and it was okay but I don't think we should've had to do it. Overall, it's a cheap place to buy fish but I'm not sure if I'll use it for a raw dish next time.

Seafood Center is located next to a post office with (metered) limited street parking. My husband wanted to have seafood for dinner so he decided to come here, after looking on Yelp. So he walked inside, while I waited in the car with our little girl dog (doesn't make sense for both of us to come in when he knew what he was looking for and I typically eat all kinds of seafood). My husband ended up purchasing:Crab, $12.99 per pound- My husband purchased 2 large crabs and cooked them in our instant pot. They cooked perfectly (my husband's first time making crab in an instant pot and he didn't follow a recipe) and tasted delicious. There was plenty of "meat" in these crabs. The crab was sweet and tender.Shrimp- I don't know how many pounds my husband bought but they were tender and delicious. They were also a pretty large size as well.I don't know how much my husband purchased but he spent around ~$90 (according to him and paid cash). There weren't too many people when my husband walked inside on a Monday afternoon, around 3:30 pm. My husband thought the price was fair (my husband is more familiar with seafood prices than I am) and we would probably come back if we lived in San Francisco.

10 years ago, it was a delight discovering this seafood place. The fish is unquestionably fresh, and that was the reason I made it a point to shop here even if their prices were on the high end. Lately, it has gone the other way. Just picked a salmon head yesterday, seemed overpriced and looked high. Had an unpleasant odor and I had to discard it as even our cats wouldn't want a taste of it. For some reason, this particularly head was all by itself at the far end of the counter where the salmon heads are usually placed. After I picked from this lot (there was only one on that lot), I realized as I was beginning to leave the store they had fresh looking heads mixed among misc fish. Was that a honest mixup or a set up? I should have known I was sold something that had already gone high.
