To be completely honest we came here after the food truck at a holiday pop-up ran out of food. We had a taste for garlic noodles since the food truck ran out before we got some after waiting in line for nearly an hour. Saucy Oakland came to the rescue (well we went to them). Noodles were great along with some terrific wings. Even though we got the food to go the ambience was solid and we will be back to dine in. The staff was really nice and helped make up for the evening's earlier, negative experience.

I ordered take-out from here recently. The good news is that the Saucy Wings were good: decently sized, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The soy ginger honey glaze was tasty, albeit a little intense (very sweet and salty) - but it was manageable because I ordered it on the side. The bad news is that the Drunken Noodles were, for a lack of a better word, terrible, unfortunately. They were wayyyy too salty and had no flavor complexity. All I could taste was soy sauce, seeping into every single atom of the dish. I kept on digging around to find a spot that wasn't too salty, but couldn't. Not only, that, but I was also digging around to find pieces of sliced beef and veggies... in the end, I only found a few pieces of fibrous broccolini stems (not even the broccolini florets made it in there!).The staff was friendly, though. I'd probably give it another shot for the wings, but not so much the noodles (I even got a stomach ache a few hours later).

I had some meat at home and needed carbs but didn't want to cook anything. Luckily, saucy was nearby and garlic noods just happen to be the perfect base for my meat.Got there around lunchtime and I noticed there was a large group of at least 12 people who had just placed an order. The kind gentleman who took my order told me it was gona be about a 20 minute wait just for noods because of the large group. I hesitated a bit, cue sad face, I said it was ok I'd wait. I guess the chef heard and quickly yelled at "Just garlic noodles? I can whip that up real quick first!". The Chef Gods were present that day let me tell you. Five holy stars for these saucy mf. You are appreciated!

Good spot for happy hour in downtown Oakland!I recently visited Saucy Oakland with a friend, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. Happy hour is offered Tuesday to Saturday from 5-6 pm. We came on Friday evening around 5:45 and we were the first ones there, though it was full by the time we left around 7 with some folks waiting. The restaurant is on the smaller side, but the decor is charming and inviting. The happy hour menu includes both drink and food specials. We were planning to hit up a brewery afterwards, so we skipped the drinks and stuck to the food items only. We tried:: - hamachi spoon for $4 each - amazing one bite- the pork belly lettuce wrap for $12 - our favorite item, we could've eaten a lot more of these!- popcorn shrimp for $13 - fried well but a bit bland- garlic noodles with tofu for $14 - noodles were delicious, but I found the tofu to be lacking in flavorThe service was professional and attentive, with staff checking in on us frequently to ensure we were enjoying our meal.Overall, I would recommend Saucy Oakland for a fun happy hour with cute ambiance in downtown Oakland.

Saucy opened where Tamarindo Antojeria was. Decor is laid back. Seating is spread thruout the interior.Offerings: "experiences", lunch sets, happy hour. Quick/spicy bites, shareables, rice bowls, dinner entrees.Order at counter, pay, pick food at counter when ready. About 10 minutes.Eats: popcorn shrimp lunch set (18)-mixed green with artisan dressing fresh, yummy.-kimchi fresh, semi spicy. Steamed rice fresh, moist-edamame surprisingly tender, fresh tasting-shrimp chips had lots shrimp & other flavas.-10+ popcorn shrimps unami flavored with mix of honey mustard, thai chili sauce, togarashi sesame. Shrimp itself was moist, crunchy. Didn't taste natural juiciness. Not the usual shrimp. Looked rock shrimp. 4.5 stars: great value. Didn't have time to explore. Just happen to discover Saucy on a walk by.

Came here because I was intrigued by the fusion food and got the drunken noodles with beef, broccolini, and onion. It was nice presentation when it came out with a cute bowl and a flower to decorate. However, the dish was very just okay. The noodles were overcooked and the flavor was very one note. It desperately needed hot sauce and some other spice / flavor. The meat was also really tough and overcooked so that wasn't too enjoyable. It's a pretty filling dish if I didn't care about the flavor but it was too expensive not to.

Cute vibrant little eatery with a modern and inviting interior, pan-Asian fusion cuisine, and warm service! We opted for the pineapple pickles, mustard Brussels sprouts, basil chicken with jidori egg sunny-side up, and my favorite, hamachi-kama. The pineapple pickles were sweet, tart, and a touch spicy - perfect as an appetizer especially since you get a dose of healthy probiotics and bromelain enzymes to help digest the rest of your meal, ha! Mustard Brussels sprouts were on point, grilled perfectly with crisped leaves and the zing of mustardy goodness. The basil chicken was my favorite comfort food - served with a side of fragrant rice and gorgeous jidori over-easy egg. Hamachi Kama, another favorite of mine, was massive here - literally twice the usual size! Tons of healthy omega fatty acids. If you love Asian food, want to eat healthy, or you have two or more picky-eaters then this is your place because there's something for every taste here! Menu is small but healthy and well-curated, worth a try! And the pandan crème brûlée was a delicious twist on the classic dessert, served with a dollop of berry compote and whipped cream. The warm service sets this little eatery apart from most Asian places lol. This place is a winner!

My partner took me here and a fun date night in Oakland. It's located on a busy street but we got lucky with street parking. Despite its small size, the cozy ambiance, adorned with hanging greenery and Japanese lanterns, made it the perfect setting for a romantic date.To our surprise, it happened to be happy hour when we joined so we decided to indulge in some of the offerings:Strawberry Guava Spritzer ($14): It came in a carafe with 2 glasses to share. The drink is delicious, it leans on the sweet side & doesn't have a strong Sake alcohol taste (which is a plus in my book!) 5/5!!Hamachi Spoon ($4/ea): This dish came out within minute of ordering. The yuzu is very potent, the hamachi itself isn't the best I've tried though.Saucy Wings ($12): This was SAUCY, just like the restaurant name. Though the menu listed as 5 wings, we somehow got 6 wings instead (yay!). We got medium and it still has quite a kick to it. The sauce itself is sweet & spicy. I would have liked it a little less sweet though.Saucy Udon ($16): This was the only dish that wasn't on the Happy Hour Menu but we had to get this since it was my first time seeing a gochujang udon! The menu listed that it came with bell pepper but it seems like ours got replaced with gailan. The presentation for this was a little lackluster. The portion was not very appealing either considering it was $16 without any protein added. I did like the taste, it was spicy and sweet and but the flavoring profile felt too similar to the wings that we got so we didn't really enjoyed this dish as much. Overall, the staffs was very nice & attentive. We had a filling meal so we didn't get to try their dessert (which many people raves about) so I'll be willing to come back here to try more items if I'm ever in the area again!
