Sato Omakase has been on my bookmarks for so long. All my friends who have been here said it was delicious! Finally made a reservation to celebrate our 10 year anniversary dinner with my boyfriend. Parking is a little difficult in this area but luckily we got a spot. There is 2 restaurants so one is more casual and if you want to do the omakase you have to book Sato Omakase on OpenTable! Came here on a Friday night at 7:30pm and the bar was packed. We opted for table seating since it's more comfortable. Everything was good, usually there's 2 or 3 things my boyfriend doesn't like but surprisingly everything was good. My favorite was the uni toro bowl which was an add on supplement. Definitely worth the splurge. Service was incredible, our water was never empty the entire night. Staffs check on you pretty often. Bill for 2 omakase with tips was $625 total. Would I come back again? Most definitely! P.S We also enjoyed their mocktails which was complimentary since it was our anniversary! :)

Our experience at Sato Omakase was truly exceptional, from the exquisite food and thoughtfully curated sake pairings to the impeccable service and engaging education provided by the chef. Having enjoyed numerous omakase experiences in the Bay Area and across the country, we were intrigued by this restaurant based on its glowing reviews, and it exceeded every expectation. Each dish was a masterpiece, surprising and delighting us with its flavor, presentation, and artistry. The chef's personal touch, sharing insights about the ingredients and preparation, added an intimate and educational layer to the evening. The staff's meticulous attention to detail--whether in the perfectly timed service or the artful plating--enhanced the entire experience. The ambiance of Sato Omakase was equally charming. The minimalist, harmonious design created a serene and sophisticated atmosphere that complemented the culinary artistry perfectly. It felt both refined and approachable, a delicate balance that elevated the dining experience. This restaurant has firmly secured a spot on our list of must-visit omakase destinations in San Francisco. While the city offers countless dining options, Sato Omakase stands out as a top choice for anyone seeking world-class Japanese cuisine. We eagerly look forward to returning and reliving this unforgettable experience. Thank you for delivering excellence on every level!

I like omakase but its not something I have to experience all the time. Especially here in the bay area, omakases blew up in the city became all the rage. If I'm going to pay $$$$, the meal needs to blow my socks off. We made reservations for 5pm but realized we couldn't make it that early. When they opened at 5pm, we immediately called and was able to change the res to 7pm so we really appreciate their flexibility. The 18 course dish sounds like a lot, and probably is if you had a late lunch, but each bite was light, simple, and had umami flavor. Out of the 18 dishes, ,my favorites would have to be the chawan mushi, barracuda, lobster, and toro. All of the nigiri were very fresh but nothing mind blowing. The service was really great and the food was ok. Not sure I would come back but this time it was more for my friend than the meal itself. This omakase was OK-kase.

This sushi spot is legit. Tons of options - you can do omakase, grab some rolls, or order à la carte. The uni bowl is my fave and their edamame is amazing!! Casual space that works great for dates or group dinners. Drinks are solid too. Definitely worth checking out.

Omakase menu at "back bar" was simply fantastic. There was no pairing option so the knowledgeable server selected several glasses of sake that worked perfectly. There is a chef for each group of 4 diners I believe so very personalized service. Favorites were multiple takes on uni, lobster with caviar, uni truffle bowl and oyster with trout row.

Delicious omakase! Came for a birthday celebration with a group of 7, and we were seated in a quiet and classy space in the back. The dishes were all incredible and our host Victor was very knowledgeable about the thinking and process behind several of the dishes. Cocktails were delicious as well. In addition to the highest quality and fresh fish, we were graced with the wonderful hospitality of the best sushi chef, Andy! He was great in making us feel welcome and comfortable, and took great care with each dish. It's evident he is incredibly skilled and we would come back just to enjoy his work again. The restaurant was also so wonderful in celebrating our friend's birthday with a piece of cheesecake on the house. Tip: definitely get the uni bowl if they offer it as a supplement! Absolutely incredible. Husband's review: Every piece of omakase was immaculately prepared to highlight the incredible quality of the fish. This was also the most pleasant experience I've ever had with a chef. Thanks Andy!

Dine here for a friend's birthday. We had a private room for a party of 10. Amazing service from all the staff! There is street parking, but I recommend taking ride shares.Omakase $195 per person. (See attached menu for the list of items included in this set menu) Our server and chef thoroughly explained each item that was served. Everything was delicious and fresh. Melts in your mouth! Each item was beautifully presented. Highly recommend dining here for a special occasion! Bon appetite!

Giving this place 3.5 stars! I thought the interior was nice and felt like I was in Japan when I was seated at the counter. The service here is good they constantly refill your waters and make sure you're taken care of. Of all the items on the omakase menu I liked the following: Chawanmushi with uni was delicious, the Ceviche very unique and refreshing, Zuke chu toro, toro, uni, and lobster were all great! I also enjoyed my miso soup as well but the tofu pieces were tiny. The panna cotta was good too for dessert but I could hardly taste the red bean. As for all the other nigiris that I had, I felt like the fish didn't melt in my mouth and it just tasted room temperature. The oyster was ok too. Also, I think they can do without the apertif since it wasn't really necessary (reminds me of a shot of pressed juice). My cocktail was also mediocre tasting.

Came here for my boyfriend's birthday and it was a great experience. It came with a welcome drink which was so refreshing, I wish I could've ordered another one. The nigiri portion was amazing. The fish melted in your mouth and each fish came from a different place of the world which I thought was unique. The servers were kind and knowledgeable of the dishes. The ambiance was also very intimate and modern looking. Enjoyed this experience overall and would recommend to anyone wanting to try omakase!

A beautiful experience from beginning to end. Starting off with tasty drinks at the bar, then migrating to the Omakase bar where the Chefs will take very good care of your food. Detailed explanations and flawless execution. Ending off with yummy desserts.Definitely a splurge, but totally worth it.
