No frills, hole-in-the-wall sushi restaurant. You might miss it if you're not looking for it. | v i b e |A bit on the smaller side but actually decent amount of seating. The interior is cozy with lower lighting. | s e r v i c e | I've only ever ordered for takeout and never eaten at the restaurant. Every time I go to pick up, the workers and sushi chefs are so friendly and nice. You can tell the chefs are the real deal. | f o o d | I usually go for the rainbow or 49ers rolls. I've gotten their nigiri before as well. I guess it depends what you're in the mood for. Whether it's nigiri or a special roll, the fish has always been very fresh. I also saw they have a number of vegan options which makes the menu so inclusive! | t l ; d r |Such a great find in the city. I recommend if you're looking for a sushi restaurant!

Look, this isn't the same sancha that we had just before their long excursion they took for the holidays (which by all means, well deserved) but it's sad to have seen it change so much in so little time! So I went yesterday with my guy, this is like the ultimate date spot for us, mind you...we come with high expectations and usually leave with those said expectations met. Yesterday was just sad, we came back to almost HALF or more than half of the menu just completely gone, most of their items now consist of either hamachi, walu, salmon or tuna...sure they have uni but no unagi?? seriously??! Anyway. They're counter service now, meaning no wait staff, everything is self service for the most part and it just had an empty new clean slate vibe. I don't know if I like this new version of sancha and it deeply saddens me because this was like the best sushi spot in the city for me.Does it still taste absolutely insane, yes, I quite thoroughly enjoyed my food but the cuts on every front just gave it a sad meager vibe. I don't know if I'll be back and if I will, it's going to be few and far between.

Great experience - it's a hole in the wall with a neon "vegan sushi" sign, really close to the bus stop. It's cozy and warm, where you order at the front (no cash, no tip) and you can even grab a drink from the fridge to order. Then you choose a seat of your choosing for them to bring it out. We as a group of 4 got three vegan rolls and 4 tofu pockets, which was the perfect amount. We wanted a variety of vegan options, so this place was perfect for us. The staff was so nice, bringing us hot tea and extra soy sauce. They brought everything out fast.Note: When we went for dinner on Saturday, the menu seems to change as it's a much smaller selection from previous menu pics online. Only rolls, bowls and appetizers. No okamase or nigiri options. It's possible that might still be available to order if you ask! :) FOOD- Vegan rainbow roll- Vegan Golden Gate- Vegan Pass the Dutchie - Vegan tuna pockets (comes in two)

Making this my new go to sushi spot!I recently moved to the area from the marina and have been looking to explore new restaurants. We went to Sancha on a Friday night around 7pm and were seated immediately. The dark rooms with bright neon lightning give a nice chill night out vibe. Perfect for dinner with friends or a casual date night.I got chives- 5/5!!!! I saw pictures of this on Yelp and it looked so delicious I had to order it. One of the best dishes of the night for sure! The fish is so thick and fatty. It's on the saltier side because of the salt block, but it felt very fitting for this dishScallop tofu pocket- 5/5!!! I've never had a tofu pocket before and this might be one of my new favorite dishes. There was a perfect balance of scallop, rice, and tofu in every biteMom's right roll- 5/5 a super filling roll with a burst of flavor in every bite. 8 piece omakase nigiri- 5/5 they're very generous with their fish portions and I LOVE itWaitstaff is wonderful as well! We wanted to sit longer and digest with our tea, but there was a reservation waiting for our table. They asked if we could drink our tea in their pool/ ping pong room which we did not mind at all because it was such a cute space! Seems like it might be under utilized though as it's in the back, and there's a sign that says it's for guests who are waiting for their tables.Overall a fantastic experience with delicious sushi. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu!

Where do I begin? It was my extended birthday weekend and I went to the city with friends for sushi and good time, and that's exactly what I got. The service was beyond amazing- from the greeting to seating - top notch customer service and selection was incredible very well rounded for vegans and sushi lovers alike. The space was perfect for small or large groups. There were 4 sections- including the sushi bar, dining seating, a ping pong table area and a separate pool table area with seating in the far back. We had the specialty rolls and they were all delicious and beautiful! What a treat and a great way to celebrate with friends or coworkers. If you are new to sushi or a sushi lover come try this place and see for yourself why I feel in love with the spot! I plan to return for more sushi and sake! Keep up the great work!

I had to come back... I have a problem I know.. a problem I'm not planning on kicking. Ordered the liger roll, cherry blossom, dragon roll, chirashi bowl, Mr. Herb, and we got the Uni flan. All the rolls are delicious there really isn't any need for soy sauce or wasabi but I guess if you want the extra. All the sauces were great compliments. Now the Uni flan, chef is always so darn creative. This was such a unique dish since it uses a salty creamy uni and pairs with sweet flan (it's a bit dense and not as sweet as most flans which works) (I despise overly sweet desserts). Service was great! Waiter was extremely attentive. It was a pretty full Sunday evening and he was really good. We just had to have a little of everything!! See you soon Sancha sushi !!!

$32 for 8 piece sushi seems like a good value. Salmon, Maguro, Toro, Hamachi, Walu, Uni, Ankimono and Albacore. I loved the ankimono. The uni was very nice. The yellowtail was smooth and flavorful, the butterfish very smoky and very buttery. The tuna, salmon, and albacore were typical "sushi", as expected, nothing more. Same with the salmon avocado roll. (I found the rice a bit gummy.) TBH, I probably wouldn't come back here, as I don't live in the neighborhood and all the sushi felt kind of average/typical quality to me -- nothing special. But it was filling, hit the spot at the right time, and the server was extremely friendly. And I love when an Omakase menu puts on more unusual pieces like uni and ankimono. So perhaps give it a try?

The PERFECTTTTT spot for a large group dinner, plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans, and a really fun spot!!I went there for my birthday dinner and they gave us the two back rooms so we had a private dinner! There was even a backdrop and photo booth set up. There was a pool table in the back room that we could use as well. This was a very nice surprise as we didn't ask for it, but if you have a large party they will likely put you here! The food was SOOOOO GOOD TOO. I am vegetarian so I really enjoyed having so many options to chose from - they had an entire vegan menu separate. They also have a regular menu. Their liger roll is lit up with fire and super popular - it is very saucy snd everyone loved it. For the vegans, I loooooved their daniel san! I was not a huge fan of the rainbow roll but everything else was delicious. Presentation and service were fantastic. We had an amazing time. I can't wait to be back, I need to try the vegan tuna!!!

Sancha has been my go-to sushi spot since I first went, a place I've proudly introduced to visitors as the best in the city--especially for its impressive range of vegetarian options. My recent visit, however, was a bit of a mixed experience.I hadn't been to Sancha since November, and I was genuinely surprised by how much had changed. The menu has been significantly reduced, and I was especially disappointed to see that my two favorite rolls, the Vegan Royale with Cheese and the Mountain, were no longer available. We ended up ordering the Pass the Dutchie and Vegan California rolls, which were still delicious, but I couldn't shake the feeling of missing out on my old favorites. The ambiance had also shifted noticeably. I missed the warm hospitality of the kind lady who used to pour tea and chat with us. Now, the ordering process feels more transactional, with orders placed up front before sitting down. The cozy, welcoming vibe that I loved so much seemed to be gone. That said, I still enjoyed the food, and it's clear that Sancha is doing its best in tough times. My friend and I left satisfied with our meal, but we couldn't help but notice the difference in the overall experience. While I'm not sure I'll be bringing visitors here for now, I do hope Sancha finds its way back to the charm and warmth that made it a favorite. The food is still just as delicious. I'll keep an eye out for updates, hoping for the best.

The place is very intimate, dim lighting and quiet but not too quiet you can't talk. The food was extremely fresh, best salmon I have had yet however the hamachi was my favorite! Will 100% be going back and seems family run
