This place odd a lot like Bob's! Not only does it smell amazing inside, but if you're lucky enough to catch something fresh, but two of them!We were drawn in by the smell of fresh croissants, but ended up, leaving with a few additional donuts. While the croissants, refresh and amazing, the donuts were delicious when we tossed them in the toaster for a few seconds. Especially the maple and chocolate covered ones. If you're not near Bob's , and try to put aside the tenderloin aspects of the exterior, there is a real treat inside !

Extremely friendly service. Clean store. Great selection. Easy and safe to get to. It is one block off of Van Ness at the SW corner of Polk and Ellis. I know they have fancy bakeries but if you want a good doughnut, come here . We walked here, about 2.5 mi round trip. I was not disappointed.

First off- the smell before you walk in is absolutely heavenly.This is the perfect bakery to leave with a loaded box and impress your work friends ... go make their day.

The donuts are great. If the husband serves you it is not as good as when the wife does. Today I was in there and the husband rushed and I did not get the donut I wanted. There was not anyone else in the shop but he was super quick to rush me out the door. I spent $12.00 on donuts and didn't even get a napkin. When the wife serves me everything is perfect and she is nice to me. The husband no thank you or napkins or have a nice day. If I want to be treated like crap I would go to Safeway. That's all I have to say.

Their donuts are to die for. I highly recommend this place. The food, the drinks, the service is absolutely amazing!

There are donuts everywhere and a lot are really good. Bob's, just further up Polk is a religion to a lot of people. Don't sleep on Sam's though. If you need gourmet novelty donuts, you can stop reading. Those who appreciate the blissful simplicity of good donuts are definitely my people. Now, apple fritters and old fashioned are my measuring stick for all donut shops. The maple old fashioned was a little heavy on the maple, but that could very well be a plus for some people. The reason this review is a full 5 is because of all the apple fritters I have ever had, these are the best. By a hefty margin. Lots of real apple and flavor without being over the top sweet. You really need to get you one.

Got too good to go from here, not really worth it since it's a day old and you can't pick the ones you want. But the lady was nice.

I like this place a lot!! everyone is so friendly, ready to help you, and they complete your order before helping someone else. they have seating, and napkins upon request. they have a bunch of options and are on Too Good to Go where you can get like 6 donuts for $6. the quiet but near a sketchy part of town. I love the ham and cheese croissant, it's so good! only one piece of ham but warmed up with the melted cheese is amazing!

I had the rocky road brownie, its was SO GOOD and fudgy. I wish I got another one when I left SF.
