There is an annoying rude child that works there, seems to be related to owner. He always increases prices as he goes, and treats worker badly. Let him stay home better for your business. And mark prices on your products or we won't be back.

Won't go back. I love to support smaller owned business but when they treat you as if you're sketchy (happened to me twice) -- it's a bit audacious granted their store is so cluttered & unkempt. Let's focus on that fellas! Last time I went the cashier slyly-- called the butcher from the back to ring me up so that him & other coworker could stand at the front door entryway (preparing for in case I "steal"). Man--- all the commotion & ...their fava beans are poor quality!! (eyeroll)

Salama Halal is a grocery mart with drinks and groceries. It's cramped and fun to browse. I almost wanted the homemade flatbread. Middle Eastern Arabic. Review 2424.

This place is so great for all the middle east staples. They meat is also very well priced and fresh! Hot tip-I always hit this place up after the Asian grocery across the street-they are both amazing!

*UPDATE*After I wrote my review yesterday, I read other reviews and noticed that many people mentioned expired products. When I went home last night I checked the bottle of HP sauce that we had put on our dinner, and saw that the expiration date was 01-2015!!! I am so disgusted, and now question the freshness of the meat we bought. I threw out all of our leftovers in case we were eating spoiled meat. This could be total coincidence but my husband was home sick yesterday with a stomach bug, sooo...*ORIGINAL*We were looking for some high-grade lamb and one of our friends recommended this market. He goes there frequently for their goat meat. I was surprised upon entering how small the shop was. Most of their wares are packaged international goods. They do have a good selection of spices, sauces, teas and snacks from around the world. It did seem as though things have been sitting on the shelves for quite some time, but that was just a vibe that I got. Their meat selection was average. When my husband asked if he could get the lamb ground up, we were told that they only have an industrial size machine and so they couldn't grind such a small amount. I found that to be odd, because I assume that the majority of shoppers are not looking for 20 pounds of meat. We chose a piece of lamb, and then asked for some ground beef as well. It wasn't until the guy was packaging up the beef that he told us that there was also ground lamb in it. Huh? First of all, if you knew we were looking for ground lamb, why didn't you tell us that it was in the ground beef? Also, what if someone ONLY wanted ground beef? I have never encountered that before. The meat was reasonably priced and seemed pretty fresh. The lamb that we cooked that night tasted great as well. Still not entirely sure if I would rely on this store on a regular basis. I think I would still feel better going to Whole Foods, even if it is more expensive.

They expanded their store! Love the new look. They know what kind of meat i need and always fresh! I come here at least once a week. You'll find eggs, butter, best olive oil, anything! Now they have next door grocery store too, you don't need to go to trader or wholefoods to get it done when you need an item or two for your dinner.

Came in on 1/13 and got a pound and a half of goat meat. When I got home I was stunned at how many solid bones they gave me. Like literally almost a whole pound of bones. I'm not talking about bones with a little bit of meat on them, I'm talking solid bones with nothing on them. I was so pissed. I live a distance from this place and it was pouring down rain, therefore I didn't go back. What a damn scam to pull off something like this. Check what you buy before you leave this place.

I bought chicken and pita to make a meal for my Pakistani in-laws. One day later I noticed the pita had begun to mold, and when I opened the chicken it had an off smell - just two days after buying it! I had everyone smell it just to make sure, and we all agreed, this place is awful for selling me this. Maybe stick to their frozen or dry goods if you have to shop here. The frozen naan and dried dates were perfectly tasty.

This is by far the best place to shop. It doesn't price gauge like your big brand names. The staff are always helpful, it's local and independent!
