It's so old school coffee shop and the poetry open mike can't be beat. Heh heh. Beatnik poetry. Where else can you go on a Friday afternoon and overhear two dudes talking about recent trends in California short story writing? Or the modern essay? So satisfying.

Food was plentiful for price, the vanilla latte was excellent, not bitter and beautifully artistic. The portions are quite large, salads yummy. Chicken was so-so. Try it out!

I grew up going to cafes where people hung out and socialized or read. Cafes with ancient couches and sticky chairs, board games and open mics. Regulars with big bellies, people who might hang out in libraries too. Cafes have turned into instagram worthy luxury spots to catch up on work. Sleep, polished wood and no pictures on the walls. I'm not against them but they're a dime a dozen these days and they're kinda purposely unwelcoming. This place is a true community gem. It's a couple blocks from USF so you'll find students cramming. And lots of folks from the neighborhood. They have free WiFi but I almost never see people working. I love coming to this spot. I typically just get a breakfast sandwich and they are affordable and absolutely delicious. The owner could easily charge five dollars more without betting and I but he keeps it reasonable. You can eat well for less than $15. With tip.I hope this place stays around for a long time. You can help it by checking it out soon!

Cute cafe with a great amount of chairs, tables and sofa. Order towards the back and the sweet man who I presume the owner is was very nice! The breakfast sandwich was delicious I'd forsure get it again. Also has ketchup to go with it. Smoothie was really good but maybe not the best for a cold San Francisco weather. Friends did get white mocha and caramel macchiato and both tasted fantastic. In total I paid around $18.They do have Wi-Fi! Wi-Fi is OK, more people working the worse wifi is especially if you're using zoom. Also has bathroom

I LOVE this cafe! Tucked away , it's always quiet and calm. There seems to always be space to study even on busy days and with the building staying as cool as it does it makes it an ideal study spot! I got the breakfast sandwich on a sesame bagel with hash browns and sausage. It blew me away! It was so tasty and filling , it became two meals. I also love their bagel lox. It was $12... Something I couldn't believe I could get so cheap in SF! The man who works the front is very kind and efficient.

Service sucked, food sucked. Told that the restroom is "broken.". Not cheap. No receipt offered. Pity, charming location with preserved atmosphere.

Great corner coffee shop. The coffee isn't anything special but it's convenient and it's hot. Plenty of creamer and sugar plus they sell other drinks like energy drinks, soda, sparkling. The service isn't much, it's seems family owned. Whenever I go for a bagel and coffee there's always these two elderly folks, so I believe it's just a nice ma and pa shop. The food is great. You get exactly what you pay for, no more no less and it's exactly what you ask. As you can see, that cheese pull surprised even me when I just randomly decided to try out of their breakfast bagels one Sunday morning. Love that it's next to the panhandle and GG park so me and my gf can stop by for a sandwich or two on the way

Sacred Grounds has been here since the 1970s maybe. The cafe has a open mic every Wednesday from 7 to close. It's on Youtube too. The menu has lots to pick from and it's not overpriced. I got a smoothie for a little less than $5. It's a quaint mom and pop cafe that feels like an old basement. Lots of space to sit around and hang out. Hayes and Cole. I never have seen this corner area until today.Review #2550

Bagels were good but it's hard to get a bagel wrong. Liked the iced chai but the coffee was mid and there were no refills. Service was rude and whole place smells musty. Cute decor tho.
