Who knew that there would a small, hole in the wall spot in Daly City for alfajores??? My goodness. They are soft pillows of Dulce de leche amazingness. Although they have a few different types, there is nothing like the original. You can buy them in singular quantities or a 10 pack that are reasonably priced. We were talking to another customer in there who said everything was good. I'd like to go back and try their main dishes sometime. If they're anything like their alfajores, I'm in.Street parking only. Support your small, local businesses!

A gem in Daly City near the Cinemark Century movie theater, this place serves great Peruvian empanadas, alfajores, and more!I've visited a few times, it's a charming mom-and-pop shop with genuinely nice staff. Everything I've tried has been delicious! The alfajores are a MUST-- I'm obsessed with the dulce de leche mini cookies. I grab a box every time. The empanadas are tasty, with options like chicken, beef, and mushroom, all seasoned with Peruvian spices, raisins, onions, and bits of botija olives. Some have cilantro (which I love). There's a spinach and cheese empanada too. Don't forget to try their hot sauce! You can get the empanadas warmed up, too. It's street parking. No worries if you don't have cash. They accept Zelle and Venmo too.I look forward to trying their Saturday-only entrees (made to order) if you're looking for something more substantial than an empanada. They offer dishes like arroz con pollo, ceviche, and seco de carne.Outdoor seating - they have a few covered tables to eat right outside the shop. Definitely stop by next time you're heading to or from SF--it's a quick detour off 280!

Their alfajores are pillowy biscuits of subtle sweetness & sabor and perfect for gatherings/events. been picking them up for certain occasions the past few years and they never disappoint. tried the lomo saltado for the 1st time recently & it was made to order, pan fried and assembled on the stove top and tidy counter top. the large chunks of tomato & onion slices may be a bit unwieldy & overly chunky but the cubed-cut steak is definitely packed with flavor from the marinade and topped over a bed of freshly made, steaming hot white rice and large cut fries. for under $20 & sizable enough for 2 humans (or 2 separate meals), it's worth it. don't forget a box of alfajores for dessert.

The best empanadas around! I mostly get the beef but so far everything I've tried has been great. Looking forward to getting an actual plate on a weekend.

Came to try the famed alfajores and they did not disappoint. The minis are now 10 for $7.The cookies were amazing! The shortbread was buttery and soft, the dulce de leche was smooth, and the dusting of powdered sugar was just enough to emphasize the all the flavors of this sweet treat. It was a good move by me to buy just two boxes for my team because that meant that I had to limit my intake to ensure everyone had at least 1 also!I would definitely welcome a return trip to check out some of the pastries offered. Also, yes, the setup is a little odd, sharing the space with a laundromat but it shouldn't deter a visit.

Rosie's ALFAJORES is located on the corner of Miriam & Westlake in a sleepy Daly City neighborhood. Know their name from the little Peruvian shortbread cookie goodness sandwich filled with chocolate or Nutella marketed via stores like Mollie Stones, Whole Foods and the like. You see them, get them. It will bring some sunshine to your day! Was surprised Rosi's had a small, but definite hole-in-wall shop locally. They carry the famous ALFAJORES but also empanadas, tamales, and hot plates all to go. So I was here to try the available SATURDAY ONLY Peruvian hot food plates like Lomo Saltado, etc. *CASH ONLY.* One gentleman behind the counter on a late afternoon, nice and quick with answers to my questions on menu and food items. He handled everything - order, cook, package and cashier. Not sure how he'd handle a crowd but it was fine with just me. There was a group, regular customers, after me so that would have been interesting to see. It's a small place, scan menu, questions if any, order, pay and be patient. Ordered:SECO DE CARNE - slow beef short rib, Peruvian chicha, beans, cilantro sauce, beans w/steamed jasmine rice. The short ribs definitely speaks for itself! Looking forward to the cilantro sauce but it's well integrated into the dish and didn't get the cilantro flavors I love. But this IS a stick to your ribs dish, nicely seasoned, especially great for our cold, foggy days. EMPANADAS - MUSHROOM/Botija olive & red onion - always a mushroom empanada and this was pretty good one. Crust is light and is great if it's baked. The mushroomy flavor was good with its light seasonings. BEEF/Botjia olive, Peruvian spices, red onion, raisin & cilantro. Sometimes wary of empanadas with raisins (too many, too sweet) I was pleasantly pleased with this well-seasoned Peruvian spiced, well-balanced ground beef empanada. The filling to crust ratio worked. Know it's good when the outside crust leaves a lingering ahhh on your palate. The beef was the show and a new definite go to!CHICKEN TAMALE. Peruvian corn dough, opted for chicken (v. Pork), Botilja olives, hard boiled eggs, peanuts, wrapped in banana leaves. Chose to take this home cold so I could steam it later to eat. This is a mildly seasoned tamale that could be eaten alone but it's awesome with the orange hot sauce it came with. Add in some of the pickled veggies onions - loved it! ALFAJORES. These Peruvian cookies are da' bomb! Get 'em and get as much as you can. Try all the flavors: Dulce de leche, Nutella, Princesa (peanut butter & chocolate fudge), Coconut. You have to try the Peruvian sweets here for yourself Or to share with family and friends. They will love you for it! Remember to swing by to try their hot dishes offered on SATURDAY ONLY: Lomo Saltado, Seco de carne, Aji de gallina, Arroz con pollo. Also offered is ceviche de pescado that I missed. Next time!

Thanks to the Yelp app, we came across this spot on the way to a family party. We were hungry and we wanted something to tie us over for the 40 minute drive but not ruin our appetites.Located in the same building of a laundromat, the Rosi's is a small space that houses a kitchen and stands of ready to purchase alfajores and drinks. Alfajores came in Nutella and the original dulce de leche. One of the best alfajores I have had as of late! buttery, soft with a rich creamy middle. Nutella was good but i loved the regular dulce de leche. We ordered a couple of empanadas as well. They are pretty big and the pastry was hearty and thick. Beef was full of flavor and the spinach and cheese was tasty as well. My favorite ended up being the mushroom and olive.Service with a smile, the customer service is perfect for this neighborhood gem. Eating area is outdoors and limited which means it is a lack of ambiance. Best to bring the food home if you want to have a cozy meal. It's super casual.I also saw that they served plates of Peruvian food on Saturdays. If I am ever in town, I'll make sure to stop by.

We are so glad that we accidentally found this hidden gem!Our favorite day to come is Saturday when the kitchen is open so the bf can get their lomo saltado ($17). With fries, tomatoes, beef, onions and rice, this meal is sure to fill you up. My favorite thing to order here are the empanadas which are served everyday they're open. The empanadas are flavorful and stuffed! Be sure to get some of their hot sauce which gives your food a creamy spice. Before you go, you must order some of their alfrajores (Peruvian cookies). They're not too sugary and melt in your mouth. They're available by singles ($2 each) or minis that are packaged ($7). The minis will melt in your mouth but I prefer the singles that have a little more density.WHAT TO KNOW: *Cash or Zelle ONLY!*Street parking*There are a few seats on the sidewalk where you can sit and enjoy your meal

We were checking out paint at a paint store and it was about lunch time, so of course, I went on Yelp and looked for lunch spots nearby.Rosi's is kinda hidden in a residential area, so parking could be challenging. The restaurant itself does not have any dine in tables or chairs, but they have 3 small tables outside for ppl to eat.We ordered the beef empanadas and rice and chicken dish. We also bought some cookies to go. Let me tell you, the rice and chicken was so good! The chicken legs are marinated well and cooked well too, flavorful and juicy. The green rice was also seasoned well and had great flavor. Great food, and definitely will come back and get takeout from here. After those 2 dishes, I tired the chocolate mini cookie, and it was soooo good!!!

I came here on the way back from an appointment. A friend from college is traveling in Peru and she made me start craving these. Good to know it was close by in the area. You do have to find street parking. The shop is small and cute. I was able to go in and out quickly. The person there was making them and also the cashier and really nice. They take CASH ONLY, but there is the option of Zelle. I wanted to try their Princesa alfajores (chocolate and peanut butter), but they were not available. The Nutella ones are yummy and I would recommend. Dulce de leche is more traditional and I got some mini ones to bring into the office. Overall, would go again and I recommend this sweet treat.
