Richmond Produce has always been a great source for fresh and fair priced fruits & vegetables, and it's easily accessible due to its location on Geary. As for parking, even though the merchant strip is busy parking should be findable within about a block radius. Over the years it's been my experience that the staff are always polite, and the store well stocked. But it is important to note that if you are looking for produce associated with Asian cooking this might not be the best merchant for those items. When coming here I always start with the produce out front since it tends to have aggressive pricing. Today though my shopping list was short just needing Onions & Peppers, Fresh Eggs, plus some Hoagie Rolls. Everything was well stocked, and as expected no sticker shock. For me it's a dependable shop, plus as a bonus they also carry a variety of Eastern European grocery items which I find worth exploring.

Prices are outrageous, produce is often rotten, I bought 6 tangelos here last week and it came to $9.50, more than I have ever paid for tangelos, but some of them were moldy and rotten and couldn't be eaten - see images.Over the last year they've raised their prices so much I can't afford them anymore, for example, their 12oz soda went from $1.69 to $1.99 in one week, their oranges and pears are twice the price of other places, and their Avocados are also almost twice the price of Safeway's.Bananas go from green to black and also can't be eaten, like every single time they are dropped multiple times and all bruised?Cucumbers are soft and rubbery, heads of cabbage are not crisp, bought a Napa cabbage that had mold as well and couldn't eat that either. What happened here? Is new management trying to destroy the place? Did a new owner decide they're going to run it into the ground? I used to go here because I wanted to support small businesses, not large supermarket chains, but you're now almost twice as expensive? You didn't used to gouge your customers so badly, what happened to you?*Hint - Stop selling rotten produce/fruit and lower your prices, we're not coming back.

I love this little Neighborhood Gem in the suddenly up and coming, and dare I say hip?, Balboa Street Corridor. Down the block and easily accessible for everyone in the Richmond District, this Mom and Pop produce store is cozy and definitely NOT a Supermarket. Thank Goodness! Make the trek to this vital neighborhood store that features fresh produce, libations, toiletries and Sundries all accompanied by the friendly family that is there to help you with a smile. Why not take a peek on your way to a movie at the quaint Balboa Theatre or after a sudden but always necessary trip to the hardware store next door. A quick milk run? Out of bread? Fresh fruits and produce for a quick meal for friends on weekends with no lines? Problem solved.

Little shops like these are just synonymous with living in SF. I used to shop at Irving Street (and 22nd to be exact) at one of these little produce shops, but it's much more than just a produce shop. It sells a variety of cheeses, olives, and breads too.Although the fruit here isn't as fresh as the ones on Irving St, it is still convenient and there is an abundance of variety. You just have to pick through to find the ones which aren't bruised. If you live in the area then shops like these are a blessing. We were in the area and it was definitely convenient because if we had been coming here especially, the parking situation would've just pissed me off immensely.Prices are very cheap and you just can't beat a place which carries everything you need for one stop shopping. 3.5 stars

Last Sunday the weather was awesome, My body was too sore for a workout so I figured I would go for a nice walk and enjoy the weather. I put on the stunna's and plugged in the headphones and walked out the house. Now most people would see grocery shopping as a drag but not me. I guess its the cook in me, I love going and taking my time to pick fresh ingredients for the food i make. It had been awhile since i went to Richmond Produce, my grandma used to drag me and my lil bro alot when we were younger. They have many fruits and veggies tat always look so fresh! Gotta represent for the local mom and pop places!I love to touch and smell the fresh fruits and veggies and i like to do tat while tuning everyone out. Hence i had headphones on, rocking out to some K-pop and picking fruits and veggies.I left with two baskets of strawberries which i got for $1.99, a head of red leaf lettuce for 99cents, tomatoes for pretty cheap and also some raspberrys. I was pretty sad that they didn't have anymore Booberries ( yes i call blueberries, booberries :P)http://static1.px.yelpcdn.com/bphoto/FeL16eEqcC6i0ffcvdi1JQ/lhttp://static1.px.yelpcdn.com/bphoto/waaBoj1JgejxP6AASefExQ/lhttp://static1.px.yelpcdn.com/bphoto/GCROp9sdyKXNULPEVhYZow/l

This one star is particular given to the female cashier who's taller and skinnier as well as has a blonde ponytail with mean look. She input HIGH UNIT PRICE in the scale than the tags of the products which means customers will pay more if don't catch it. Unfortunately, she coded wrong unit price again this evening. She said she had subtracted the difference but the receipt didn't reflect the difference directly. When I asked her to recount all the items in case she input wrong UNIT PRICE of other products, she is very rude and loosing her temper out of nowhere yelling that you are in other customers' way in order to make you feel guilty so that people may neglect her error. She's using other customers to give people pressure and want you to shut up. She also shouted out loud she was the boss there and can refuse to serve me and ask me never come back. Maybe she thought the boss had left so that she could pretend to be boss there. I just wonder how many other customers especially seniors missed catching her error and paid extra everyday? How many have been treated by her rude attitude and lie while the boss and manager are out of office? It's fine to make a mistake as long as solve it sincerely, but it's difficult to take such rude attitude from someone like that. Hopefully, one day, this cashier could be kind truly from her heart!

Well the produce is finally improving at this neighborhood store, however Richmond produce is just a "shadow of itself" compared to when George and Peter owned this father/son business.
