Excellent top to bottom. We ordered a-la-carte:-Caviar-Tuna toast-Dumplings-Tonnarelli-Crab ramen-Cod Highlights were the caviar, tuna toast, and the ramen. Caviar was probably the best thing I've tasted in months. Order one per person; even though it's expensive that way, you'll want your own. It's served in the shell over a yolk. Creamy, salty, overflowing with umami deliciousness. The tuna on the toast is generously-portioned and tastes extremely fresh and flavorful. Very nicely done. The crab ramen is, as I understand it, seasonal, so get it if it's on the menu. It's not quite soupy like a ramen; sort of a hybrid between a pasta and a soup, but the broth is creamy and decadent, with small chunks of crab throughout. Only complaint on this otherwise amazing dish was (a) would have liked bigger chunks of crab meat and (b) it's garnished with kiwi, which was a little random and didn't seem to really go with the dish (we opted to eat the kiwi in separate bites). Ambiance is very nice, striking a good balance between casual / comfortable and high end. We sat at the bar, which was really fun.

Very creative, with some highlights and also some misses. The atmosphere at Rich Table was casual and buzzing. Some of the seating is pretty compact, so don't expect an intimate setting. The meal was off to a great start, with the first course of their tasting menu feature lots of little servings of different portions of their menu. We also got their bread and butter. The sour dough was complex, lovely textured, delicious. The pacing here could be a bit better, getting several hot dishes at once meant some pressure to enjoy them while hot. I enjoyed the beef dumplings and the donuts with a perfectly fluffy dipping sauce. The anchovy chip, the panna cotta, and the little truffle tart were good. The oyster with kiwi were bright and refreshing, but not super memorable. The pear with tahini was pretty simple and just OK. Next came the roasted cauliflower and scallops crudo. Both dishes were very good and the cauliflower with the green Thai curry may have been my favorite of the night. The pasta course was the weak point. The noodles had a nice texture, but were short and not super satisfying to eat. The flavors were muddled and the sauces were overly rich. There's pressure to get creative with pasta, but this is one case were keeping it simple would be better. Kiwi in Ramen? Sometimes less is more... The uni was completely lost with the rich cheese in the 'cacio e pepe'. The hanger steak that came next was fine. It was nicely cooked and had a nice texture, but I do wish it was less slathered in sauce. Desserts were OK. The mint chocolate sable cookies were a bit too hard and impossible to cut without squishing the ice cream underneath. The guava shaved ice and sorbet was just OK. It tasted fine, it's just not very exciting. Overall, it was a fun and enjoyable dinner with some memorable and tasty moments. Some more restraint and simplicity would make the experience even better.

Fantastic experience at Rich Table!! I was pleasantly surprised by the interesting and diverse flavors, warm ambiance, friendly staff, and good portions! With its hard-to-get reservations (now I see why) and calm and beautiful exterior, I thought RT was going to be a bit stuffy, but it was nothing of the sort.Jumping right into the food. TL;DR it was amazing!!DUNGENESS CRAB SALAD ($25)I thoroughly enjoyed this seasonal favorite. It was super fresh with the pomelo and spaghetti squash -- I'm pretty sure the squash was raw because its texture was almost papaya-like! There were also little pops of heat and warming flavor from the curry. The trout crisps on top were delicious!! It was served in a hollowed-out crab shell, which was fun and cool. The portion was small, especially for the price tag, but I don't think that really took away from the dish. So, I would recommend this if you feel the flavors are up your alley.DRIED PORCINI DOUGHNUTS RACLETTE ($13)Our waitress said this was the dish that brings people back to RT, and funnily enough, it was the dish that brought my friend back, and I see why!!! This is AMAZING!!! The doughnuts are perfectly fried. The dried porcini is used to make a ridiculously delicious and umami powder coating that literally tastes like movie popcorn and chips (in a slightly more fancy way). The raclette is so whipped that it's like foam. You must get this dish!!!RICOTTA PIEROGIS with PERSIMMON SWEET & SOUR SAUCE ($14)These were super fun! They are much more like empanadas than pierogis, but I think I prefer it that way. The crust was so buttery and flaky, and the ricotta melded perfectly in it. Putting some of that persimmon sauce inside after taking the first bite was fun, and made for a fancy grilled cheese-like flavor! I do think this dish would benefit from one more piece :)TONNARELLI ($29)Our waitress called this adult mac and cheese. While I don't fully agree with that statement because mac and cheese is for all ages, I see where she's coming from! It was a comforting dish with interesting cheesy flavors. The pasta shape itself is like a straw so it was covered AND filled with the delicious sauce. TAJARIN ($38)This dish sounded so interesting with the black truffle and pomegranate, and they did not skimp on the two at all. The flavor was interesting and very truffle-forward. I preferred the Tonnarelli over this one, but I think if you want to be adventurous, this is worth a shot!PISTACHIO BUTTER CAKE WITH CREAM CHEESE ICE CREAM ($15)This is the type of dessert I WANT TO SEE in restaurants!!!!!!! I was pretty nervous about the dessert menu because restaurants love to flop in that department; and I guess get it: it's really hard to do well and restaurant margins are slim. But look, a girl has a sweet tooth and I'm trying to get it satisfied at the restaurant!! THIS SATISFIED IT!!! Oh my goodness, SO SO good. Like. You have good cake, with good crumble, and delicious pipings of PISTACHIO BUTTER, and a super interesting, tangy CREAM CHEESE ICE CREAM. Like, who's doing like that?!??!!? The portion was also perfect. Please do get this if you come here. Rich Table, please continue with these amazing desserts. It is for the common good CHOCOLATE PANNA COTTA ($15)This was more like a pudding or mousse than anything, but it was still great! It came out in a pink planter-esque dish, which was really cute. The chocolate flavor was very slight, and the caramel bits stood out more than anything. Overall, this was sweet, light (but not too light) and delicious!Aside from the food, everything else about the experience was fantastic. I'm going to call out three non-food highlights.1. The dishware. BEAUTIFUL. Like. It looks handmade. It's thick. It's got texture. And also, the pasta dishes came out so hot. Not burn-your-hands hot, but hot, and it added a lot to the experience for whatever reason!! A small touch, but a big difference.2. The bar. You can ACTUALLY EAT AT THE BAR. Instead of being 6 inches wide and only made for cocktails, you can put multiple plates on it with room to spare. THANK YOU. Especially when it's so hard to get a reservation, being able to eat comfortably at the bar is huge.3. The ambiance. Very warm and inviting. Very relaxed. Not super hushed and quiet. We certainly felt free to joke around and laugh a bit loudly without being the food ones out. I love that.If it wasn't evident, I quite enjoyed Rich Table. I am excited for when I come back.

Valentines 2025 was a perfect experience at Rich Table. With a crafted menu that left me more than full, it was a memorable night. We had five courses total, my favorites of the night being the donuts with raclette cheese, scallops, and steak. A lot of the dishes had a bit more acidity to them, so maybe I shouldn't have ordered the mocktail which was tart. The waiters are also friendly, the restaurant gives you the option of checking in your coat/bag. Some of the seats are a bit of a tight squeeze and you can hear the conversations next to you. At the end of the night, we were given a small plant as a gift. Would love to come back!

Finally got to try this place tonight. Everything we had: tuna toast, scallops, crab salad, beef dumplings, uni pasta and pork chop. Oh and dessert. Everything was really and truly delicious. It's a small spot, but coming with a small group is great so you can try more things.

I made a reservation for 3 originally and they were so accommodating in helping me update it to 4! We were celebrating my mom's birthday so really appreciated having a more secluded nook/table in the back. :) The standout items to me were...:1) surprisingly the fried rice!!! This had so much textural and flavor complexities that kinda just left me shook lol2) the black cod was so soft and buttery; it only left me wanting more and wishing it was a bigger piece3) porcini doughnuts with that Raclette cheese omg, don't think, just get it!!! 4) I was worried the Concord grape ice dessert might be too tart for my liking with the Meyer lemon ice cream but it was super well balanced and refreshing - a great way to end our otherwise heavy meal!

Solid place! Excellent service and our food came out quickly. Highlights: - The dried porcini doughnuts - a must try! Fluffy, great umami flavor, piping hot, with a nice cheese sauce.- Burrata on levain - delicious. A great balance of flavors and textures with the anchovy, burrata, crispy brussel sprouts, and toasted bread.- Sea urchin pasta - one of the best noodle textures I've had in a dish. The actual sea urchin flavor wasn't too strong, but the sauce was creamy.- Black cod - fish was cooked perfectly. Loved the touch of the puntarelle with the ginger-chive oil that gave it an Asian inspired flavor.- Pistachio cake - generous amount of pistachios in a buttery cake with a delicious cream. They also gave a mint chocolate dessert and white chocolate on the house!Misses:- Chawanmushi - was way too salty, we almost didn't want to finish it.- Sardine chip - my husband liked this, but I thought mine was a bit soggy in parts which I didn't like as much.Overall, we had a great experience and would come back!

One of our favorite dining experiences in SF! My husband and I came for dinner to celebrate a special occasion, neither of us looked into Rich Table in advance so we went in with no expectations. We really enjoyed every single dish we tried (which is pretty rare for us) and were pleasantly surprised to receive some additional items for our special occasion. The service was amazing all around and the team really made our dinner feel like a special treat. We can't wait to come back!

A formerly-Michelin-starred restaurant (I believe it was robbed of its star post-pandemic because it's still a great meal on par with State Bird Provisions) that holds a special place in my heart... so I was hesitant to go back. But I snagged a last-minute reservation and was still impressed with just how good the service at this place is. We are complicated diners. I can't do dairy, and my boyfriend has celiac, and while we couldn't pull off the tasting menu, we managed to scrounge up a still-impressive combination of plates that highlighted creative cooking. The star for us was the steak - perfection. The chawanmushi is also an impressive dish, particularly given the dietary restrictions we bring. It's a crowded place with a lot of noise, but the vibe feels fresh, like a pre-pandemic San Francisco. And despite how good the meal is, the price is still fair.

I love rich table! The apps here and the milk-washed cocktails shine, and the mains (especially the protein) fall a little flat, so I would honestly just come back for the apps and some drinks.Must orders are: the dried porcini donuts (live up to the hype, so soft and savory - 5/5), burrata (so refreshing and creamy, best burrata I have ever had, 5/5).Also very good: uni pasta (4/5, very creamy and al dente), rigatoni (4/5, sungold tomato flavor is terrific but could be a bit more al dente, slightly overcooked) Can skip: endive salad (3/5, good if you want something refreshing but an overall OK salad), toro toast (3/5, fun to try but not my favorite toro), steak (2/5, wayyyy too tough), miso cod (2/5, flavors were not there and a bit too fatty).Overall though, 5/5 for the must orders and the drinks. Service is also really fast and the restaurant has a nice dim-lit feel, perfect for date night.
