We came here New Year's Day and got seated right away. The place was busy but no line. I ordered a garden burger that came with fries / my choice and came with a diced cucumber salad and a little cup of fruit. My husband ordered the masterpiece omelette with potatoes and bagel. The serving was big. The food was good. The staff fast and friendly.

Bay Watch has had a very consistent menu over time and their servings are always large. A pleasant atmosphere good for meeting friends and associates.Service is a bit uneven. When I walked in at 1:00 pm today all the servers were off the floor. I waited for about 10 minutes and eventually host took my order. Being late maybe the servers were eating?

I keep coming back to this place. It's my favorite breakfast place in San Mateo when I come to visit my neice. The service is good. I love the large bay windows that I can look out. It's like a place you'd see in the movies where they are sitting by a large window. I have yelped this place before. I love the veggie scramble.

Came here with a friend. The interior has a classic diner feel. Service was fast and easy. They sat us quickly and came often to refill hot water and coffee. The food is good and hits the spot if you're looking for affordable and satisfying breakfast. Recommend for anyone in the area looking for a classic breakfast without breaking the bank.

Breakfast / Brunch diner in the heart of downtown san mateo. I've been going here since i was a kid and so happy to see Bay Watch in san mateo. They have a brunch menu to satisfy all your cravings from eggs to crepes to hot chocolate! Came here with my family of 5 on a saturday around 1pm and we're sat immediately. Got two decaf coffees and two regular (bottomless coffee) and then a variety of meals. A nice classic breakfast with fair prices and nice place to sit down. we noticed their uniform change, but excited our waitress still had the classic hawaiian shirt!

I love this place. I love Jan, the waitress we've been "seeing" for geez maybe 20 years?! The food is consistent and pretty good - better than a diner and the prices have stayed pretty reasonable. Anytime my kids see a doctor or dentist in the area, they want to be taken to breakfast before I take them to school. Fair enough! Time with my boys! Now they will eat their whole plate of food, a denver omelette for example, and then they will half of a short stack and the rest of the food on my plate. They politely save the rest of the pancakes for the kid that didn't "get" to go to the doctor that day. They are good boys. And this is a good place for breakfast - quick, personable waitstaff and good food better than a diner!

Back in the day, this used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but it has made a significant decline over the years. Gone are the days with lines down the block, you can usually get a table with a nominal wait time.Overall the menu hasn't really evolved. They don't offer much as far as a food allergy menu or modifications for gluten and dairy-free customers. Many restaurants offer gluten-free bread, pancakes, and crepes, but they sadly have none. They don't offer fresh squeezed orange juice or any specialty beverages. The crispy hashbrowns I ordered were twice cooked, probably prepared earlier that morning, and heated up for my order because they were really chewy. The bacon was crisp but paper thin. The service was just okay, the wait staff took my order and brought the food and that was the only time we saw them.Probably won't be back as there are plenty of better breakfast places in the area.

I visited Bay Watch Restaurant in San Mateo, and while it's a simple diner, I always love the experience. I went with my usual, their homemade biscuits and gravy with two sunnyside eggs. The biscuits were baked with a golden brown crust that gave way to a fluffy interior. The gravy was creamy and flavorful which matched well with the biscuits. The addition of two sunnyside eggs added a touch of golden yolks oozing over the plate, creating a nice combination of tastes and textures. I opted to substitute the usual hash browns or potatoes for an assortment of fresh fruit. The service at Bay Watch Restaurant was great as usual. My server was attentive and friendly. She promptly took my order, and my food arrived in a timely manner. Throughout my meal, she checked in on me without being intrusive, ensuring that I had everything I needed. The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and inviting. I highly recommend Bay Watch Restaurant for a solid traditional breakfast.

It's my first time here at this location. Upon walking in, you're greeted right away by the hostess. She was super polite and helpful in placing my order. I'm not sure how long this place has been here, but it seems pretty modern and newly renovated. It was pretty busy when I was here. For my to go order, I ordered: 1. NY Steak and eggs, cooked medium with bay potatoes and sourdough bread - The steak ended up being well done but was good with the grilled onions and mushrooms. Bay potatoes tasted horrible, it tasted like it was made earlier in the day and just warmed up. I say that because that's how some potatoes taste when you reheat leftovers that you took home. 2. Basic Omelette with bacon, sausage, and cheese - ginormous, cheesy with bits of bacon and sausage 3. French Toast - pretty tasty you didn't need syrup. 4. Orange juice - tasted like it was freshly squeezed. It was cold and refreshing. The food and prices weren't too bad. I wouldn't mind coming back.

We found the Baywatch Breakfast place by accident and it was a real treasure! Most of the restaurants in the area are trendy and specialized and this has the old school dinner feel. The food was delicious! Fresh fruit and I recommend the breakfast burrito. I love that they leave a carafe of coffee with you so you don't have to ask! Friendly local down to earth service! It's definitely a new favorite.
