Best mexican place in the mission. Everything is homemade and while slightly more expensive than other spots, it's far more gourmet. I love the green enchiladas, carnitas, mole, and fish tacos.

We found out new ownership has taken over this restaurant. The same is almost the same but we were told the menu will change very soon. The family was very welcoming and food was served pretty quickly. The taquitos de pollo y papa were delicious, extra thin and flavorful. The Pollo con mole was good but the chicken was on the saltier side. This dish was previously served with shredded chicken which I enjoyed me instead of tearing the chicken off of the bone. The Cochinita Pibil was also not as flavorful as before. Each dish is served with handmade corn tortillas which are super delicious. I hope the new menu is better! They painted the restaurant a more grey color but other than that, everything looks the same.

This was a surprise find. Walked in mid afternoon on a Saturday and the vibe was very chill and service was very good! We started with the guacamole and tostadas and 2 agave margaritas. The guac was really fresh and was a nice way to start. Salsa was also tasty with a balanced spicyness. The al pastor tacos were on point. Super tender, juicy marinated pork with fresh onion and cilantro. Would definitely recommend and go back for those. Could have eaten another order. The chile relleno was fresh and I appreciated the generous amount of veggies in it but it was a bit on the bland side and under seasoned. Luckily, we still had salsa and guac from the appetizer that I could add to it. I'd probably return to grab the al pastor tacos and a margarita while in the area.

I've walked by this place for years and finally stopped in the other day for dinner. I'm so glad I did! Delicious all around! We tried the pozole, enchiladas verde and the chicken mole and all were fantastic! There's some communal seating outside if you're feeling social too! I do think it's a little on the expensive side, but the food is definitely worth the price!! A remodel inside could go a long way in making it feel more upscale.

Had a dinner gathering with friends on a Saturday evening and managed to land the long table at the back. The garden view with the tropical plants really set the mood. The menu, filled with Mexican classics, is straightforward and commendably, almost entirely gluten-free - a big win for our diverse group.I chose the cochinita pibil and my girlfriend went for the carne asada. We started with tostadas and guacamole paired with a spicy habanero salsa. Those tostadas? Fresh and crisp. The guacamole was solid, and the salsa had quite the kick! The portions of our mains were modest, but with the sides, they were satisfying. Both dishes were flavorful, although a touch more seasoning would've made them perfect. A note on the proteins: my cochinita pibil could've been a tad more tender, and while the carne asada was juicy, a little more tenderness would have elevated it.A special shoutout to our server, Francisco. Managing a large group isn't easy, but he was attentive, on point, and truly made our evening smoother. All said, if I find myself in the area again and am in the mood for a gluten-free meal, I'd be happy to drop by.

I don't typically crave Mexican or even Latin inspired cuisine.... No particular reason other than I am from Hawaii and until recently it hasn't been as prevalent. But that is neither here nor there. It was 8 months ago. My sis had the Mole, she loves it and loved it. I don't remember my entree. It was probably a quesadilla. But. Omg. The flan. The flan was so epic. I wish I had a pic. The outside seating was gorgeous too.

Small restaurant, nice ambience. My enchiladas were overall good, though I felt the sauce was a bit tangy. The guacamole was great and I loved the chili salsa. Limited menu but there are vegetarian items. 3.5/5, rounding up to 4 because of the very friendly staff.

Wonderful service and the kitchen is right in front of you. The chefs are hard working and thank you on the way out. Food was fantastic and the mole chicken fell off the bone with a great sauce. Check it out.

Sadly, the ownership changed hands in December 2024 and I can no longer recommend this restaurant. The former owners said a lot of the same aspects would carry over - like high quality ingredients (free range meats and organic corn for tortillas etc). But the chef is a different chef so the dishes are all prepared differently now.I ordered a long time favorite, chicken enchiladas verde, and was sorely disappointed. Instead of the tender, flavorful meat i remembered, the chicken was stringy and over cooked/tough. The sauce was a darker shade of green, a weirdly thick consistency, too spicy and lacking in flavor. Other ingredients in the dish fell flat as well. I had ordered this for take out. It was my first time to stop by the place since the ownership changed hands. The new owners changed the lighting in the space. Instead of feeling like you're walking into a nice restaurant with ambiance of relaxation with low track lighting creating a nice vibe, there now is harshly bright fluorescent lighting over the cooks' area, thus the seating area as well. It felt like walking into one of the many fast food taquerias in the Mission that use poor quality ingredients and lack in ambiance as well. Unfortunately, I won't be back! Formerly I would eat there around once a week and have special occasions like birthday dinners there as well. Very disappointing, though I know things change.

Service was good and ambiance was ok. It could used some background music. It sounded like a small cafeteria. However, my main like was the food. Very authentic regional Yucatán cuisine. Full of flavor. Would repeat.
