Where do I begin. The food was 7/10 very salty and I'm salty gal. The atmosphere was good UNTIL the restaurant got busy then it was like being in the middle of the BUSIEST intersection, at one point during the meal I had to get up and move so the could move furniture. We bumped by the staff all night. Also when we arrived we mentioned that their map takes u to the old location.. They had the balls to challenge me on this telling that there's no way that happened, mind we were not the only people who this happened too. When we told management of our experience all we gots was we are sorry it's was are soft opening. Then that should have been mentioned when we arrived. They are trying to be like Ruth Chris they are more like Applebee's. The only thing they did like Ruth Chris was the prices. Which I have no problem paying for but I expect A+ service, food and experience this was C- at best. What made the night GREAT was the company I was in definitely NOT PorterHouse. The end

I thought I made reservations a month ago for my birthday but started to look and couldn't find a text. So I called, and the lady said she'd text if there was an opening. The gentleman walked up and asked what was going on, I explained. The lady then said that they were too full. I was bummed. We sat in the corner as I called another steak house. When all of a sudden the gentleman came from the back and said we have a table. He completely made my birthday. The food was excellent. Everything was perfect. I gave him a big hug and asked his name. He said Bruno. Thank you! You have restored my faith in the human race. I'm so used to everyone being negative. Thank You!

The host was quick to get us to a table for our reservation, however it took a while for the actual server to appear. Server did not go over any specials nor did he bring us over any bread (which every other table near us had as soon as they were seated, saw someone else commented this as well..). Restaurant was somewhat busy, but the appetizer took a while to come out AND the meal came out within 5 minutes of the appetizer. Other tables seemed to have theirs spaced out appropriately though, so not sure what the issue was with our table. Server was nonchalant about service and made eye contact multiple times only for him to not come to the table. Server only asked how things were once we were almost out, and seemed somewhat annoyed we didn't stay for dessert. Would not recommend this place, sad that a steakhouse's best was one of their appetizers. Plenty of options in the peninsula with better quality and service for less, terrible first (and lasting) impression.

#16yearsOfPorterHouse............we have many fond memories of celebrating special occasions. One that our friends and we will never forget is they came up to San Mateo from SoCal for her 60th birthday celebration and we went to PorterHouse and had the best meal and service ever. They still talk about it 5 year later.......a special place.

it started out good with front door staff. Waiter was friendly and helpful but really pushed cocktails that were good tasting but halfway full. Steak dinners were good and prepared as asked, good but not great and small portions. Asked to have dessert and after dinner drinks at bar and that's where we experienced Megan, bartender, with no personality or else her bar would have been full. Drinks were fine but how could you go wring with Baileys over ice? Dessert came, souffle, absolutely runny inside and tasted like scrambled eggs. Let Megan know and instead of showing concern she challenged us with "it is supposed to taste like that" like we never has a soufflé before. Absolutely awful service and mediocre at best food and price.
