This place has a good charm. Pretty big space with a lot of seating. Our waiter, Denise was great. She was very helpful with the menu. She was attentive while giving us space to enjoy our meal. The host was also very friendly & nice.Overall the food was very tasty and came out pretty fast. - gnocchi w/ mushrooms - sooo good. The gnocchis were so light & the mushrooms & the sauce had great flavor. We got this as appetizer and loved it - again also very light.- Pappardelle w/ short rib Ragu - very Al dente, just cooked. There was not enough short ribs, I barely got any pieces but the flavor was there. The dish overall was different, didn't taste Italian, it had a semi sweet and south East Asian flavor. Not what I expected but it was ok.- Duck breast - really enjoyed this dish. The portion was generous, the duck was cooked well & had good flavor & had beautiful sauce. It came with a piece of duck confit, which was yum! The sides were also nice. - Cappuccino: nice coffee.

This is a fairly elevated dining experience with some 4.5 star entree options.I rate the service about 4 stars. The servers are friendly and attentive but they are not exactly hovering over you. it was good.Ambiance was quasi loft. Exposed Concrete. Open kitchen. Choice was given on quiet or lively. Choices are good The food rated from good to great.Entrees are complete meals. The short rib was the bomb with a bit of crispy gnocchi, roasted carrots, couple of pearl onions over a bit of smashed celery root. Special Duck had a similar presentation and they know how to hit medium rare. Very goodThe tagline pasta was special. The spaghetti mare was goodFrito Misto. Special. Lots of suprises. This is a great place and may be one of the best if you're down in the financial district after hours The spaghetti was

Came here for my company's holiday party. There was open bar, and the drinks were great. The people tending the drinks were also very kind and will give you what you want. Service overall is great, food decent.Beet salad - 4/5, lots of beets with some veggies and a sort of nutty spread on the plate. If you like beets you'll definitely love this. I think the ratio of beets to veggies is a bit off for me, but it is called a beet salad for a reason!Filet mignon - 3.9/5, I don't care for meat like this often, but I took a bite and it was pretty good. The sauce was pretty flavorful, and the meat was super tender. If you're really into meat, you might say it lacks that beefy flavor that good filet mignon should have. It came with gnocchi, which I thought was really interesting! Unfortunately the gnocchi was sort of soggy? Otherwise, good enough for me.Halibut - 3.5/5, decently tender with different sauces that gave it more dimension. It came with cauliflower, which I really liked. The raisins gave it a sweetness which was also nice.Chocolate truffle cake - 1/5, chocolate cake with a sort of whipped cream and meringues. The chocolate cake almost seemed like an overcooked lava cake or undercooked normal cake. We just weren't quite sure about it.

I tried their steak au poivre, and the peppercorn sauce was rich and creamy. The meat was tender, though slightly overcooked. The atmosphere was great for a date night, and the service was friendly. The restroom was clean, but the soap dispenser was empty.

As a fancy Italian restaurant in the FiDi of SF, it met the expectation of being boujie and filled with an older crowd, enjoying quiet dinner. I dined with a friend of mine, and honestly the food was okay. The seating is a little cramped as many places are in the city so it was actually kind of hard to get our servers attention. The food was also okay, I wouldn't really come here again with small portion sizes and hefty price. I had the pasta that had 5 hour cooked pork. My friend ordered spaghetti and was shocked to find seafood in it, said it was tasty, but the kind of pasta he was expecting. Maybe if I come back I need to order something else?

Short ribs (not pictured): perfectly braised and so tender that you don't need more than just a fork. 2. Pappardelle pasta with short rib: truly the highlight of the dining experience. Fresh and perfectly cooked pasta sheets topped with creamy cheese and tender short rib. Desserts: all amazing and perfect for the evening 1. Caramel gelato 2. Pannocotta3. The restaurant had ample seating to fit various party sizes, small to large. They also had a really nice bar seating area at the front when you walk in. Definitely a "must try" to put on your list of restaurants in San Francisco!

8/2/2024Having gone to Rome, and not enjoying the service or even the food itself at one of the many restaurants, it's a breath of fresh air to find great Italian food along with great service that's a little closer to home. My friends had raved how great of a meal they had and so returned once more, but this time with me. Perbacco has always been a bookmarked restaurant on my list, and I can now say that I have dined here. Location: one of many restaurants in the Financial district neighbored by Taddich Grill and Pabu just to name a few. The Restaurant: don't let the tinted windows fool you, because all three of us thought the restaurant was closed on a Friday evening. Luckily it was not, and we were greeted and seated immediately. My friends wanted a high top by the door for happy hour, but I generally prefer a booth or table away from the door. I heard some great things about a bartender named Dean, and so I agreed to their condition of sitting at the bar. Decor: a little modern and a little rustic. A full bar sits in the front while a dining room and open kitchen in the back. I love the touches of dark wood against the bar and hung curtains in the ceiling. While it was quite quiet for a Friday evening, the restaurant itself felt very inviting and relaxed. Dean did in fact serve us during our meal and he remembered my friends by name. Now for the food: happy hour runs from 4-6pm Tuesday through Friday. We only had 20 minutes left and so we were suggested to order whatever we wanted from the happy hour menu before 6pm, and we did just that. Happy Hour:- Bread service with butter: fresh out of the oven sour dough with whipped butter. You cannot go wrong with bread and butter. - Bar nuts: pairs well with cocktails. - Crostini with burrata, roasted peaches, cherries, and arugula: such a delicious pairing of savory, sweet and creaminess. We ordered two of these; yes it is that good. - Risotto croquettes: these are deep fried rice balls with mushrooms served with aioli. We also ordered two orders.- Drinks: - Italian 75: a very fancy lemon drop like drink with limoncello and Prosecco. My friend absolutely loved this drink. - Strawberry Margarita: very refreshing. - Summer Daquari: summer in a glass. So good!We also ordered off of the dinner menu:- Short rib pappardelle: silky pasta with slow roasted short rib and horseradish cream. Yummy pasta dish!- Basil gnocchi: this was the collective favorite dish of the night. The gnocchis were so pillowy soft! - A tasting of red wine was offered for our pasta dishes. And it was a perfect pairing. Dessert: always have room for something sweet.- Meringue hazelnut cookie: airy crisp egg white cookies with hazelnuts for crunch. Just the perfect amount of sweetness. Each bite was heavenly. - Buttermilk panna cotta: this is definitely not milk and gelatin, it was above that in every way. The buttermilk comes across as smooth and milky. Jellied fruits are garnished on the side. Such a nice way to end a meal. - A delectably sweet Moscato was paired with our sweet bites. Shout Out: a big thanks to our bartender and host for the night - Dean. Service means everything in the world of hospitality, and we were so happy to have dined here. Its staff members like Dean that is a testament of knowing his craft and knowing it well. Will definitely return.

What a pleasure to dine at this Italian institution. Service was friendly and apps were on point -- the focaccia and burrata were delicious, not to mention the olives. The agnolotti dal plin was savory yet vibrant.

Perbacco is an old school Italian spot disguised in modern digs. This is our go-to special night spot for many reasons. It's one of the few places in SF where the service is impeccable - instantly greeted at the door, guided to white-tableclothed spot (with plenty of spacing between you and other guests), and checked on just enough times throughout your meal.Apart from elegant dining room, the food is second to none. The pastas are exactly like what'd you'd find in northern Italy - I could have the Tajarin every day, for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I wish more restaurants did it like Perbacco!
