Oh, Pearl Restaurant, you've truly captured my heart and taste buds! From the moment we stepped through your doors, it was like entering a romantic culinary paradise nestled right in the heart of San Francisco. Our evening began with the most delectable oysters, each one a perfect, briny kiss from the sea. Paired with your expertly crafted martinis, it was a match made in gastronomic heaven. The martinis were mixed to perfection, offering a delightful start to our culinary journey. Then came the crab gemelli--oh what a dream! Tender strands of pasta entwined with succulent crab, all enveloped in a sauce that can only be described as pure magic. Every bite felt like a love letter to the palate, effortlessly weaving together rich flavors and delicate textures. And let's not forget the amazing arancini! These delightful golden orbs were crisp on the outside and meltingly tender within, offering just the right amount of cheesy goodness to make our hearts swoon. The ambiance at Pearl matched the food, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that encouraged lingering long after the last bite was savored. The staff was as delightful as the dishes, attentive and genuinely passionate about providing an exceptional dining experience. If you're in San Francisco and in search of a place that embodies love, laughter, and unforgettable meals, Pearl Restaurant is your go-to destination. It's a culinary love story waiting to unfold--with every visit, my affection for Pearl only deepens.

I don't know what happened. Dined about a year and a half ago and enjoyed some of the best pasta I'd had: their handkerchief. Perfect pasta consistency and incredible depth of flavor. I've been thinking about it frequently which is what brought us back. The handkerchief pasta arrived and I could tell immediately it was not going to match my last visit. It was a white soupy sauce overladen with cheese and lacked any depth of flavor. Where are the herbs and seasoning? It tasted as blah as it looked: Gloopy and white. What happened to that pasta that changed my life? The appetizers were delicious. Crudo and beet salad were fresh and full of flavor.

Pearl had been on our list for a while now and friends raved about how much they loved it. I was excited going into the dinner. I was sat next to the restroom which wasn't a great start but, I guess somebody has to sit there. The server did not tell us about any specials or recommendations which was fine since I had already read up on reviews and had an idea of what to order. I just expected a little more from the server. To start, we ordered the Steak tartare which was actually one of the best I've had in the city. It was a surprisingly large portion and very good. For entrees we had the handkerchief pasta and smoked date caramelle. The handkerchief pasta is what most Yelpers recommended and I was disappointed. If you've had tuna helper, you'll love this. I found it to be very one note and heavy. The smoked date caramelle was much better but portion was very small compared to the large portion of tuna helper. I must also point out that it took over an hour from the time we ordered until we finally received our entrees. Really glad we ordered an appetizer because the wait was much longer than I think it should have been. For dessert, the guava gateau basque was very good but slightly burned. So we ate around what would have been a very delicious crust. Overall, the ambiance and service was lacking. The appetizer was the best thing we ate. I don't think we'll be back. There are much better places in the city for pasta.

This place is delicious!! The food here is well made, 10/10 experience. The drinks here are also good, but very straightforward and nothing special. I think the food here should be the main focus. The interior was spacious and made for a great spot for date night or a dinner with some friends. Service here was amazing! They kept checking in on us and the food arrived super quick and hot off the stove. Only downside was that I did feel like the menu seemed like it was lacking something. The options did feel limited and some items seemed very plain and not worthy to select. Though the items we did order were absolutely delicious!!!What we ordered:- Oysters 10/10: WOW SO FRESH. YOU HAVE TO GET THESE. We ordered another round bc of how fresh and well balanced it was with the vinegar and garnish. - Kanpachi Crudo 9/10: Very unique flavors that worked so well! You HAVE TO eat it with a little bit of grapefruit, cilantro, and onion as you bite into the fish. Only downside is the fish itself felt the slightest rubbery but didn't drag was from the flavor at all.- Mushroom Arancini 10/10: This was an appetizer special. So well cooked and seasoned. MUST GET!- Handkerchief Pasta 10/10: SOO hearty and well balanced. Pasta was cooked perfectly. Not overly salty either.- Crab Gemelli: 10000/10: This was the STAR. So so so delicious. Flavor of the crab was prevalent throughout the dish. Pasta was so al dente. So fresh and light, but strong in flavor. Pasta noodles in general all tasted handmade.- Guava Gataue 10/10: Came out so warm and comforting with a perfect balance of sweetness.- Peanut Butter whipped cheesecake thingy 5/10: This was a special so I forgot the name haha. Overly sweet and overly salty. A little too heavy for me. Overall totally would come again!!!!

Came here last week with my husband for date night! Made a reservation about 3 weeks in advance - it's a busy place so I recommend reservations. Everything was great. Overall a fantastic dining experience - good service, ambiance and food. We ordered bread with butter, roasted cauliflower, the handkerchief pasta and the clams pasta. Everything was really good. Nothing mind blowing for me but all very good.Everything was wonderful, no complaints. We live nearby now so while we have lots of places to try, we'll sure be back!

Came here on a Saturday night with reservations. If you're driving, parking is a beast. Otherwise, the restaurant itself is very cute. The drinks were exellent- the Franciscan wallflower was deliciously drinkable and the husband really liked his velvet ash. We had the beet salad, which was good, then shared two pastas. The better of the two was the dungeoness crab gemelli- light and slightly spicy with lots of crab meat. We also had the lamb malfadine, which was actually kind of disappointing - just not enough sauce and mostly tastes of pasta, too light on the flavor, which is surprising given that it was lamb. Anyway, place is ok- great cocktails but somewhat avarage pasta.

We were on our way for sushi then the delicious aromas wafting from this busy corner restaurant drew us in. They kindly accommodated us; we were seated immediately. The service at Pearl is excellent, extraordinarily focused on timing and friendly and knowledgeable repartee. They perfectly timed our courses and brought a glass of Barbera seconds before my bavette steak arrived. The mains were the star of the show (and the dessert!) but the appetizers need work: The roast cauliflower on black tahini hummus with green chermoula ($16) lacked a tempting presentation and became worse when I portioned to our plates in a confused, sticky mess. Black hummus doesn't work as an attractive base and throwing a giant handful of blanched almonds on top seemed a desperate move by the kitchen. The tuna tataki was delicious with an interplay of sweet and spicy: Bits of persimmon and fine slices of Serrano peppers played off each other with the fine lemony note of cilantro but a bit dear at $18 for (6) very thin slices of crudo. The Hankerchief white bolognese had a wonderful flavor. I think I sounded so certain about ordering they didn't describe what ground meat was in the pasta. It had to be chicken- and the dish had panache ($26).Even better was the perfectly executed Bavette of steak in thick, rare slices with a spicy, flavorful green harissa sauce reminiscent of zhoug, an Arabic sauce made from cilantro, jalapeño and cumin. The plate was perfectly balanced by tahini and tender small potatoes with pickled onion and fresh dill ($32). I wished for another slice of steak mostly because it was so delicious. Our server recommended the Meyer lemon pudding cake over the cardamom semifreddo (both $13). Dressed with huckleberry sauce, whipped cream and candied ginger, the cake was delicious, loved the uniqueness of the huckleberries. The menu is small and creative. I would return to try new, seasonal plates. Service is any restaurateur's dream team!

The ambiance was so nice at Pearl! It is a very warm and nautical environment. The food was amazing too! We got the tuna tataki crudo which was fresh and had really good flavor. The duck schnitzel was lean and crispy. The salad was also fresh and crunchy. Then we got the lamb pasta which was amazing and salty. Lastly, we got the chocolate torte for dessert which was chocolatey and rich. I def recommend this place for dinner.

A cute corner restaurant in the Richmond. I sat outside, but they had heated lamps to keep things cozy. I would make a reservation to avoid wait times. Ordered the following: * Chicory Caesar (3/5) - It was overly dressed and salty for my taste. I would pass on this next time. * Handkerchief (4/5) - Their signature and what they're most known for. First time trying white bolognese, and it was rich and savory.* Mafaldine (4/5) - This did not disappoint. I love anything mushroom with pasta. Overall, the food was great, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting.

I came here on a Tuesday night and it was busy. We booked a table a week beforehand for 7:30 and we got seated at 7:45 even though we came at 7:15pm. But the server got us drinks and there were heated seats outside where we could hang before we got seated at the table. When we got seated we ordered the food right away and the appetizers (bread and salad) got out first and we finished both and waited 10 minutes more before the pastas came out. I got the caramelle pasta and the pasta was kinda hard and it was cold and not warm. So I asked if the chef can redo and they said it was supposed to be like that so I got a different pasta instead since I was underwhelmed. So I waited for the rigatoni and it was pretty good and the handkerchief pasta was really good and I would recommend it. Overall, I was a little underwhelmed since I wanted to try this place for a while now and the service was very slow and the food came out really slow and it was cold. But the bread, salad and the handkerchief was good.I would give them another shot but a little sad that it was not as good as I expected
