I love Pasta Panino! We have always been treated with the greatest degree of respect, courtesy, and care, and the food is always delicious.Garlic Bread: a classic; did not disappoint. Pro trip: if you are able to hold off from devouring it all (tough to do considering how good it is), save some as a dipping bread for the rest of the meal, to soak up the flavored oil from the ravioli or the dressing from the salad. Delicious. Calamari Fritto Misto: also great! A lightly crispy texture, with delicious tartar sauce.Roasted Beet Arugula Salad: the perfect balance of textures, with soft burrata cheese and sliced fennel. I do wish there was a hint more of the balsamic vinaigrette for extra flavor, but still delectable.Butternut Squash Ravioli: it tastes like Christmas. The hot sage-infused brown butter oil is perfect for dipping (garlic) bread into, and the spinach, peas, and white corn add incredible bursts of flavor and texture. Definitely a staple in our go-to order here.Cinnamon Bread Pudding: the perfect way to end the meal, a warm soft sweet treat topped with apples and whipped cream made in house. Yum.

Between the food, service and ambiance, this place is 100% a pass. The food alone turned my stomach and I regret asking the server for a suggestion. They said to get the Penne Alla Norcina as they had eaten it that morning.. well, it tasted and looked like it had been sitting out since that morning. Wine came in water glasses, appetizers came out lukewarm--I mean, it definitely could have been better. We sat in an incredibly bright, fluorescent-lit room that felt like a diner. You would never know it was an Italian restaurant passing by. I watched staff ignore folks entering waiting for a seat. A woman actually waited to be seated for a while, sat herself, and then was never greeted. She got up and left 15 minutes later.I sadly wasn't the only person who didn't enjoy their meal, I watched young couples regrettably take another bite. Such a bummer--such a miss.3 people, $120 after tip. Not worth it. There's seriously some incredible food around Castro but this place is a big pass.

The space is casual and perfect for a drop-in meal for comfort food -my favorite starter is polenta sticks with $2 marinara sauce for dipping ...and a bowl of linguine with creamy pesto.

Absolutely divine place. I come here a couple times a year and they never disappoint. I cannot rave enough about the calamari and mushroom ravioli! Will forever be my favorite Italian spot in San Fran!!!!

This place is quaint, home style italian-american restaurant tucked away in the castro! Great place to catch up with friends or a date spot without a need for a reservation. Not groundbreaking italian food but the ideal comfort food spot! Friend and I ordered the spaghetti con polpette (meatballs), butternut squash ravioli, and tiramisu. Spaghetti con polpette was tasty - came with a heaping portion of 3 meatballs that were seasoned well and moist/not dry. Bright tomato sauce with some fresh basil complemented the big meatballs and al dente pasta. It tasted like a home cooked dish! Butternut squash ravioli felt healthy-ish and came with some spinach and corn. Ravioli was tasty with a sweet butternut squash filling that complemented the subtle sage butter sauce. We finished with a well balanced tiramisu with solid cream to coffee ratio and was not too sweet. It came topped with some strawberries that were nice tartness to offset the sweetness of the dessert. Overall service was great with attentive staff. The place was clean, pretty spacious with a bar type seating on the side. My main critique is the restaurant is a tad cold! Came here as a party of 5 for dinner on a Saturday evening around 6:30pm after finding street parking nearby and were seated immediately. Our server (I think his name was Derek...?) was super friendly and great at giving engaging and informative descriptions about some of the more notable menu options (but I unfortunately have the memory of a goldfish so I don't remember anything he said aha).We ended up getting the Linguine, Spaghetti con Polpette, Linguini allo Scoglio, Minestrone, and Bruschetta Ciabatta. Everyone really enjoyed their dishes! I ordered the spaghetti, which I believe is their most popular item, and it was really flavorful and came with very hefty-looking meatballs! If you love spaghetti, I'd definitely recommend. My stomach was not large enough to accommodate my plate so I happily took home leftovers to enjoy the next day. Our server was even kind enough to open the door for us as we left :') (I asked for his name as we left so I could write him a great review but I clearly did not do my part in remembering his name, so to our server: if your name isn't actually Derek, I do apologize but thank you for your great hospitality!!)For SF, the prices really aren't bad at all! If I'm in the area again, I'd definitely be willing to come back to try their other offerings. If you're looking for a filling and delicious Italian place that doesn't break the bank, I'd highly recommend!!

Not sure who owns this restaurant, but someone forgot to tell the owner it's 2024, and that the menu is still show 2020 pre-pandemic prices...but great for the customers! It's not cheap dining out in San Francisco, but if you're looking for good Italian for reasonable prices this is it This small cozy restaurant keeps the interior clean and simple, letting the friendly, handsome, charming, and rizz-filled waiter be the eye candy/interior decor. $8 Caesar Salad...fresh, crisp, with the right about of caesar dressing and cute little whole anchovy fillets$22 Linguini aloo Scoglio...seafood pasta loaded with Clams, Mussels, Shrimp, mixed Roasted Peppers, Calabrian Chilis, Roasted Tomato, White Wine and Parmigiano, lovely! This would be $25-30+ entree anywhere else in San Francisco!

VERY solid inexpensive pasta place to hit up.This place used to be a taco shop - so not fancy inside and pretty bright (so not a romantic date place). The waiter was efficient. We split the Cesear salad and the garlic bread. Both fine - nothing out of the ordinary.I got the pasta al Norcina which was a healthy portion (I took half home) and pretty good. The sauce was a white wine cream sauce - so not as heavy as an alfredo and very tasty - for $17 it was a deal for SF.For my money I prefer Italian Homemade (a few around the city) - but would not be mad at all to go here again.
