Outset Coffee - Financial District

I was in the area on a Saturday at 9:30 AM and was looking for a non-big-chain coffee shop. This was a lovely place to stop by. There was only one other table occupied when we arrived, and we placed our order at the tablet kiosk.The barista was so kind and offered both me and my friend a stamp card when we got our drinks! The place got a lot busier while we enjoyed our drinks and a few people brought their dogs in to hang out while they chatted at tables.The Yuja Americano was very refreshing-- a sweet citrus, almost lemonade-like Americano.The Black Sesame Mudslide was super yummy as well! I highly recommend this if you're a fan of black sesame lattes. It's super creamy, and the salty black sesame was sweetened just right. Definitely a top three place to get a black sesame latte.It's a short walk from the SFMOMA, so it's a perfect spot to grab a pick-me-up if you're headed there. Thank you so much!

Really enjoyed outset coffee after wanting to try it for so long! I really liked the variety of options of unique Asian inspired drinks, I got the Osmanthus latte which was delicious, and my partner got the banana latte which he also really enjoyed. We also got a black sesame mochi muffin which we liked too! Will definitely be coming back.

Two words: Caramelized. Banana.Order: Banana latte (whole milk, less ice) + Korean garlic bagelBanana latte came with two caramelized banana slices (a very pleasant surprise) and a straw to stir and drink the smashed banana at the bottom. Reminds me of the Dutch bros banana drink but not at crazy sweet.Korean garlic bagel was savory and a little sweet (which I was into). It had just the right amount of cream cheese and the corn was so fun. I only had half to start because it was so rich but looking forward to toasting it later. Tip: I'd recommend ordering in person so you can see what they have in stock bc the mobile order/kiosk may be different. It took about 12 min to heat up my bagel but I didn't mind, especially bc there was only one person working.I will definitely be back to try their other drinks (eyeing the sesame one or osmanthus latte...)Overall ambiance was very clean and it's very close to the Salesforce transit center for my fellow commuters looking for a fun way to start your day :^)

What a perfect sunny afternoon just to settle for something special to drink and to have any Third Culture Bakery style treats! But like I said time and time again, never will I have a cup of coffee, hot or iced. So what's my approach for my consumption? Of course, matcha!I had quadruple whammies ever since my first day inside Outset Coffee. Most of the mochi donuts and mochi muffins were sold out, tonic drinks were sold out, my matcha mochi donut was heated up, and I received more than two dozen of quarters to carry as my change. But that didn't bother me so much. Waiting for 5-10 minutes to have Matcha Sunset didn't take that long before I walked one block back to my workplace. It's matcha coconut milk was half as strong as the matcha mochi donut.Still a good start in Outset Coffee of SoMa. Hopefully, I might come back once more for a fizzy tonic.

I visited Outset Coffee twice recently, and my experiences were quite different. Yesterday, I ordered a shakerato with a double shot, and it was absolutely perfect--so good that I decided to return today to order the same thing.Unfortunately, today's drink didn't live up to the first. The flavor, the amount of coffee in the cup was off. Maybe it was due to less ice? I'm not sure. (see picture for reference - barely full) Additionally, there was no acknowledgment or greeting upon arrival, which took away from the overall experience. A small gesture like a warm greeting can make a big difference.I really enjoyed my first visit, so I hope this was just an off day.

This is one of those places where drinks and food are super cute but the taste says otherwise. Stopped by around 8:30am, and there wasn't much people yet, so service was quick. The drink and toast was quite a disappointment. I got the banana latte, and it was very underwhelming, very blend and tasted as if it was water down. Even though they used fresh banana paste for the latte, you barely taste it somehow. The everything toast was the biggest let down. They premade the toasts and would leave it there, not sure for how long, but at least they could have warmed it up because when I took a bite into it, it was brick hard and wasn't even edible at that point.

I'm so glad I got to try the toasted banana latte. Absolutely phenomenal. I'm definitely no coffee connoisseur but I thoroughly enjoyed this coffee. It came topped with two brûléed banana pieces on top (I ate one in the photo) and mashed banana puree mixed in the coffee. Definitely brought a delicious banana flavor to the coffee and a sweetness to balance the coffee flavor. Will definitely be having again!Cool modern and new interior. The service was quick and friendly too.

Not many seats in the cafe, so I always ordered to go. Everything is great and yum! I'm glad this coffee shop opens here.

Went here to pick up a TooGoodToGo bag and also bought a drink! Pick up for the bag was at 5pm, and the staff working there had me wait until exactly that time before giving me the bag (fair and expected!). While I was waiting I ordered a drink. Most of their menu is coffee (there's only a few non coffee drinks) BUT they have an option to get decaf. Since it was too late in the day for me to feel comfortable with drinking caffeine, I got a decaf black sesame mudslide. It looked like dessert from photos (black sesame is always an eyecatcher) and was also gone very quickly once I got my hands on it. I think it expected it to have even more black sesame flavor, but maybe I'm just not used to having it with coffee. I'd probably get something else next time. There is some seating but most people were taking their food/drinks to go!

Great coffee. Best to order online for pickup to expedite the process. Adding extra words to meet the minimum.
