Yes! We definitely recommend this place for anyone. It was a one of a kind experience for my family and I. We celebrated our son's 15th birthday and everyone had such a great time. We will be back!

Very cool experience. Love the secret location idea...makes it super unique. Our dining experience was super fun and casual. The music added a nice modern vibe. The quality of the fish was perfect. The combinations of fish was delicious. Loved the low key but still really excellent quality and service if our experience. The toro was my fave but honesty everything was done well. Tried two cocktails and their lychee ice cream was a great way to end the meal. Def would come back to experience another secret location.

This place has a fascinating vibe to me. They have rotating sushi chefs for the omakase experience, which is whet my friend and I did. There's also a way to just book for the listening lounge experience with access to some cocktails. For the meal, we ended up doing a sake pairing. There was a chirashi add on, which we did as well. Not cheap but it was a night of decadent splurge. For me, the aesthetics of the place was my favorite. The sushi meal was at this small counter but in a larger industrial converted space. There's a small seating area while we waited, and we passed by a long table that looks like would be great for a tea ceremony. There's also the lounge areas I mentioned that has projections, an inside-outside, and various types of chairs. The bathroom was a bit different too. It was all open and not much walls, but you could tell the different ambiance within the floor.

Odetokyo offers a fun and different experience that we haven't really seen anywhere else. My fiancé saw this place on Instagram and had to make reservations for their Audiophile experience which gave us the ability to be in their listening room while watching Spirited Away & Ponyo (on silent with English subtitles) and sake sets included for everyone in the group. The outside is a bit... confusing because there's no giant sign saying ODETOKYO so all I can recall my fiancé saying was, "where's that doorbell". Well, once we finally arrived (well beyond our reservation time as we went their old location at first and needed to wait for another Lyft driver), I was floored by how this place looked. They have an omakase experience you can sign up for, but we opted for the Audiophile experience and it was every bit enjoyable with no pressure to leave from the staff (although that was probably because other people had Halloween plans elsewhere so we got lucky)! Staff was amazing. Sake sets were interesting. They also have a food and separate drink menu you can order from. Overall, while I'm not one for staying out till midnight... I really enjoyed myself here and would go again.

We had a four person reservation and ended up being situated in the living room area with a Ghibli film playing. One huge plus was that it's not crowded at all, not noisy and very spacious. We ordered the chirashi bowl ahead of time. It came with 8 pieces of sushi that were all high quality. Vegetable curry had some potatoes, carrots, but I think not really worth it unless you're hungry. Sake pairing that's included with admission is a nice way to start the night. Four different qualities of sake. Overall, enjoyed the vibes but only because we were seated on the sofa. I don't know how I would feel in a group of 2 seated on a high top. Also an extensive cocktail menu that we didn't really get to enjoy. There was only one bartender so the drinks were a bit slow.

The concept is great but I just don't think it'll survive in SF at the moment. My boyfriend and I came here on a weeknight and the space is enormous for the few people that were there. The omakase was good but not amazing. We also added the caviar to our meal and it was actually terrible. It was served with a bag of Lays chips and I think the caviar was old or must have gone bad because it had a terrible lingering aftertaste. At first I thought the chips were too salty to pair with the caviar but it was actually necessary to consume the caviar in order to mask the horrible taste. The cocktails were okay. Overall experience was okay but wouldn't return. However, the owners made an appearance and the service was great. They offered some shots for someone's birthday.

Loved my experience at ODETOKYO! Highly recommend. One of my favorite new Japanese spots in the city.Note: Recommend parking on 6th St as there is limited parking on Tehama and they are strict about 1 hr parking--you may get a ticket. It's a non-descript location and you'll need to ring the doorbell when you arrive.I loved the people (Larisa is amazing; pre-visit and attentive as needed during dinner), the sushi is fresh, delicious, and carefully prepared by a rotating cast of top-tier sushi chefs from other iconic establishments in the city, the music is great, and they have a mixologist on-site if you want more than sake. Or zero-proof/NA beverages! Vibe is chill and you can have a social experience at the community table, interact with the sushi chefs, or an intimate experience in one of their many corners. They offer 2 dining experiences: a la carte + sake and a 16-course omakase (6p & 8:30p). Their chirashi bowls and sashimi are and reasonably priced for the city. I can't wait to come back for the full omakase. My only wish is for them to be open MORE NIGHTS so I can come all the time :)

For the amount they charged and the experience we got, I would consider elsewhere if you're looking for an omakase. The food was alright. 12 course omakase, but it wasn't anything that was mind blowing. The food was good, but again...what they were charging and the selection they were serving (slight head tilt). The location we went to was The Felix. The music was too loud for my taste. Especially for Valentines Day. C'mon, can my date and I have a conversation instead of yelling? You're literally seated at the bar at this place where the sushi chef is making and serving your food (another head tilt). We had an "interesting" experience happen when all the seated guests (omakase experience) at the bar and a couple others not seated at the bar were offered shots, except us. Not sure what that was about? The Felix seems like a cool spot, but not for something like this. I was also charged for an Odetokyo Membership? What are you all doing?

After a cancelled reservation, we finally got to try this omakase. It was intimate and private. The area was a little sketchy as I was waiting for my friend so someone from the restaurant came to get me outside. He also waited till our Ubers arrived when we were ready to leave. Because the restaurant cancelled our previous reservation they comped me and my friend drinks all throughout the experience. The fish was fresh and the chef knew where it was coming from. If you enjoy high quality fish and willing to splurge a bit, I definitely recommend.

Went here for my birthday dinner and had a wonderful time. Really intimate atmosphere, attention to detail in the small things (lighting, decor, place settings, great music). The food was incredible, the hosts were all gracious. Ed, the owner, exuded warmth and made us feel at home. The setup made it easy to chat and make friends with other guests. Just a magical atmosphere and incredible food.Would recommend in a heartbeat.
