Norman's Ice Cream & Freezes

The thing that separates retail businesses is the feeling you get when you walk in. I actually stopped by the Ben and Jerry's around the corner first but their employees were cold and incredibly slow even saying hi and asking what I was looking for. Felt like an eternity so I came here and immediately felt at ease with how cozy the shop felt. The owners serve each scoop, 2 lovely folks and the epitome of mom and pop. And our 2 scoops - chocolate chunk caramel (tastes like a choco version of Haagen Daazs caramel cone flavor, so good) and mint chocolate chip one were delicious in a waffle cone. Please come here when you're getting In n out or checking out the marina instead of Ben N Jerrys

This was a pretty decent ice cream shop across the street from my hotel. It was the first place I visited, in fact, after checking in when I first arrived to town. It's a small shop that's mainly to-go serving Mitchell's Ice Cream.I was happy to see banana as a flavor, which you don't see all that often. I always get it when I see it, though. Surprisingly, it was also a reasonable price at about 6.50 for a small cup with 1 scoop, tax included.Service was excellent from the friendly asian couple behind the counter.

The ice cream is yummy! The service is sweet! The ambiance is welcoming. We ordered the blended espresso coffee and special ginger tea with condensed milk. The owner is a San Franciscan who was lived here for 49 years. There is outdoor seating and an outdoor plaza with additional seating. This is one of our favorite ice cream shops in SF.

I remember I found this little spot with my family a couple of years back and it always stuck with me because of the location, the ice cream, and great service. The ice cream here is all from Mitchell's and they also do other great desserts as well! One of them being Halo Halo. I came back here recently and got a milkshake and had the great pleasure of speaking with the owners. They are the most kind hearted and genuine people I've met and deserve all the recognition for Norman's.

Tucked in an alley between The Argonaut Hotel and Del Monte Historic Building lies this Mom and Pop ice cream shoppe serving local made Mitchell's ice cream. Mitchell's is the famous SF ice cream maker since 1953 known for their 16% butterfat ice cream and specializing in tropical flavors from a variety of fruit from the Philippines.We got a double scoop (vanilla and mango) for $7.95.Ice cream was very smooth and creamy, mango was mild in flavor but good.Better than Ghirardelli and Ben & Jerry's in my opinion. The owners were super kind and friendly!

It's a solid ice cream spot serving Mitchell's! The people who were running the tiny store when we visited were so sweet and happy to help us, would go back just for them.I got a hot fudge sundae with ube ice cream. The ice cream texture was good, but only tasted very lightly of ube, would've wanted more flavor. Good hot fudge though, just wish it had been more generous. Would probably opt for just hot fudge as a topping next time instead of doing the whole sundae.

Cute little ice cream shop serving Mitchell's ice cream. Tons of different options, quick in and out service and right near fisherman's wharf. Absolutely loved the cookies n cream and espresso toffee crunch!

Norman's Ice Cream & Freezes. A solid little ice creamery in the The Cannery in SF's Fisherman's Wharf area. I enjoyed my Vanilla and Praline scoop, with a Diet Coke. They serve Mitchell's Super Premium Ice Creams. Very friendly lady at the counter. Just too good to pass up, after a long day walking! Three Stars.

This adorable mom and pop shop is home of the loveliest couple who run the place by themselves! They are as sweet as their ice creams and make everything with so much love! I ordered the banana split and finished nearly the whole thing by myself it was so good! My friend nearly inhaled her halo halo and went back for more taro ice cream! A perfect afternoon treat!

Norman's ice cream and freezes is our new favorite place! They serve Mitchell's ice cream (without the line) and tons of other offerings (halo halo, milk shakes, etc). Great ice and amazing service! We highlight recommend it!
