Came here on a Saturday evening with a group of 4. You order at the counter and then grab a seat. There were a few other groups seated at the time, but we didn't have to wait for a table. I got the karaage curry. They were generous with the sauce and it also came with pickles. The chicken was fried nicely and the batter wasn't too thick. We also got sake for the table. Would come back if I was in the area!

Casual katsu restaurant in the Marina, on the slightly pricier side. The highlight is definitely the curry itself! The curry flavor is on point. The pork katsu is also perfectly fried and crispy. We also tried the crab cream croquettes, which wasn't my cup on tea (a little too heavy). Staff were super nice and the store was quiet and clean. Nice lunch spot!

My friend was raving about this place so she took me to try and it has become one of my fave places for Japanese Curry! Parking is limited but there are plenty of seats. It's pay first and then it's served to you. It was a quick turn around time. I ordered the Pork Katsu curry and decided to add on veggies and one shrimp tempura. The katsu was spot on with the crispiness. It was also already cut into bite sized pieces too. The curry was so flavorful I made sure to scoop up every last drop of sauce onto the katsu! Veggies were such a good touch and loved dipping it into the curry. The pork itself was very tender and juicy! Just thinking about it makes me want to come back already!

Unfortunately I had a bad service experience, so I will not be returning. It's a shame because the curry is good! Lots of to go orders and delivery drivers coming in and out.

If you're looking for a traditional curry spot this is the spot! I ordered the Pork Katsu Curry. The flavor of the curry and the crispy outside of the pork was spot on. The only downside was that the pork was a bit on the tough side. Servers were super sweet & the food came out fast! Portions are also massive so one dish could easily be shared.

I think this just might be the best curry I've ever had and is very close to the curry I've had in Japan! The flavor of the curry is so deep and flavorful I highly recommend. The staff were all super friendly and helped us with recommendation and what the menu offers. We went on a Sunday afternoon and surprisingly was pretty empty but overall great food great vibes!

Best japanese curry I've had out of Japan! Seriously so good not sure if it was cause I was starving but this hit the spot so well. Curry was nice and flavorful. Pork was so crispy and well cooked. Rice was nice and fluffy. Portion was huge. What more could you want. Inside is casual and chill and water is self service. Normally I would say I can make this at home but my katsu ain't like this

(3PD), Kani (Crab) Cream Croquette (1 pc) (3PD), Karaage (1pc) (3PD), Oyster (1 pc) (3PD), Aji Fry (1 pc) (3PD), Takeout & Delivery - Put curry in separate container(3PD)*Chicken Katsu Curry ($21.28) - Large, Beef Roux, Yes, Pickles Please! (3PD)*Habanebros Classic Habanero Sauce from Kyoto: 60ml ($12)Did I really spend $38+ on a plate of curry?! Yes I did! I also wanted the hot sauce, so there's the extra $12 as well. Yeah, I was in a YOLO kinda mood and hungry, so I added like a million toppings. The other dish was the hubby's.The positive. I actually really liked the hot sauce. Just a small dab added a nice amount of heat. The bottle is kinda small, but a little goes a long way. For the toppings, I enjoyed the katsu and the karaage. They did get a little mushy in transit, but the flavors and textures were still good. The fried seafood items, I didn't enjoy as much. The aji was very fishy. Tho it is mackerel, so I expected that. Just not quite as much. I didn't really taste much crab in the croquette. The oyster was a little over, so rubbery in texture. The curry itself, I found to be too sweet for my palate. I don't know if that's what they are known for, but I did not like it. I ended up adding hot sauce and sour kimchee to my bowl to cut into it. The curry did have a nice texture tho. Since I more of a brown rice girl, I paid extra to have the curry on the side. (I made rice at home.) Otherwise, it would have been served on top of the white rice.I adore Japanese curry. Unfortunately, I'm just not a huge fan of Nippon's version. Too sweet for my tastes.REVIEW #3562

Food comes out impressively fast, service is really attentive and friendly, and the space is clean and well-maintained.recs: potato croquettetips: use the doordash dine-in deal for $8 off $20! also there are seasonings and tempura bits on the counter at the front that you can use- Karaage Curry: Karaage was a bit dry but still flavorful. Curry sauce was perfectly seasoned and rice was a great texture. - Mixed Croquettes: Comes with one potato and one crab croquette. The potato croquette was a standout, with an impressively thin crust and steaming hot potatoes inside. The crab croquette was a culinary feat, with an equally thin crust and creamy crab-soup-like filling. This comes with a side of dipping sauce.

There's a lot Japanese curry options in SF, but Nippon Curry stands out amongst the top. With decent prices, great service, and great taste - its worth a trek up to the Marina to have a meal!Their curry has a nice balance of flavor, but the care they put into their meat quality is not something that I've observed in many other curry restaurants in the city. Tender Tonkatsu and juicy Karaage! Also - they play mid 2000s-2010s Jpop. Talk about vibes!
