Great addition to the neighborhood! We enjoyed a family style feast and everything was excellent--catfish, fried chicken, buttered cabbage, vegan black eyed peas, and mac & cheese. I'd encourage passerbys to dine is as it's super spacious and comfortable! To attract even more well-deserved buzz might be a good opp for them to host a game night or screening. Perfect space for it.

Nia's food is okay, but it's nothing to write home about. What they desperately lack is charm, sophistication, and finesse! After multiple visits, it's time to write this with the objective of helping them improve. The waitstaff is polite, but not welcoming. Nia's basically been been empty each time I've visited for a sit-down lunch, yet no one ever greets or acknowledges you when you enter. You walk in and wonder whether you should find an empty table and if anyone will know you're there. A better approach would be to have someone bother to say, "Welcome! Please have a seat and someone will be with you shortly." A good dining experience is never just about the taste of the food. It's t's also about a refined, appealing presentation. Unfortunately, Nia's food is served in a shockingly unappealing way. Zero effort is made to make the food look appetizing. Food is simply dumped onto the plate in a manner that is on the same level as dumping food into a doggie bag container. Nia's is an Oakland transplant and needs to learn the finesse and fine dining standards of a San Francisco restaurant, which includes offering dessert.

We went to Nia's to celebrate Valentine's Day - they were locking the door at 2 pm and said, 'Come back tomorrow.'Our lunch on the next day is Fried Catfish with greens and black eyed peas... Fried Chicken and Waffles.Fried catfish is delicious and moist; greens and black eyed peas are excellent.Fried chicken is very dry, overcooked...waffles are soft and flabby...not my favorite.

I came here twice this weekend with friends from church. We ordered a variety of entrees like ribs, oxtail, fried catfish, smothered or fried pork chops, and meatloaf. I'm happy to be able to sample a taste of each in addition to my own entree. I really enjoyed the ribs I ordered during my first visit with fries and collard greens. I also really enjoyed the fried pork chops on my second visit with mashed potatoes/gravy sauce and buttered cabbage. Out of everything, I personally liked the ribs, fried pork chops, and cabbage the most. The mashed potatoes were good but a little bit too salty with the gravy sauce on top, so I would ask for the sauce on the side next time. Service was excellent and prompt. It wasn't too busy during lunch time, so I'm writing this review to get the word out and more people should come try the delicious food.

Ordered oxtails, chicken wings, and a waffle. Oxtails were good but not worth $30 for the amount you get. The chicken was pretty good, and I wouldn't be opposed to trying different foods. However, for the price it was not worth it.

The food was excellent and seasoned to taste; the Oxtails and gravy and rice were simply delicious!!Tyrone the server is simply a delight and so very concerned that he checks tables several times to see if there is anything he can do or get for the table. My sister and daughter were there for her birthday on January 22nd (she visited from TX) and one of the members of the team went to the store to get a candle go out on top of the key lime pie for her, and the culinary team and other staff came out to sing happy birthday to my sister; how special is that!!The restaurant has an ambiance of being in your own home being served. The meatloaf, Mac & cheese are soooooo good!Yes, I recommend it!

Had blackened catfish along with mashed potatoes, greens, and a slice of cornbread. Food was overall very good at a nice price. Fresh lemonade was a bit too sweet for me as I prefer no sugar at all. Service was fine. Atmosphere and feel is still in the early stages but hopefully through growth and experience this place will succeed. Senior friendly prices.

My family and I went to eat here we were so excited to support this new business. BOY!! were we wrong we ordered the oxtails they were out at 3:00pm we ordered the jerk chicken they were out .We ordered greens they had no flavor .I ordered the ribs they were dry it seemed as if they were boiled. The mac and cheese would have been good but I had to pick through all the cheese sauce to find the noodles (too much sauce) some tables had real spoons and forks others were plastic .While we sat there they had ran out of greens . what the $#@!! .I do want to leave with something positive .The cat fish nuggets and fried pork chop were on point The service was great !!!! .Will I go back probably NOT!!! .I wish them nothing but best !! So disappointed
