This was such a fun dinner!Got there too early and was greeted by a super funny server. Ordered a bunch of food since our 3rd was late. Tried the bbq liver, intestine, papaya salad with salted egg and corn. All were super on point. Really yummy. Literally gone in a couple of inhalation. The main attraction the Thai charcoal hot pot BBQ. We got the large combo for 3 people and added a beef tongue. It was awesome. I love the concept and the soup really tastes so good from the bbq. Everything and the service was super on point.

Really enjoyed the food here. The flavors are bold and spicy. Service was great as well since the waiter and owner was very attentive and helpful as it was our first time. A great dining experience as it's the only Thai hotpot/bbq place in SF!

Made a reservation for 7:30pm for a group of 4 on a Saturday night. Came on time, and sat down immediately. Every table was full inside! But tell me why I waited 30-40 minutes for my food to come!?! My RAW food?!?!We did the "Create Your Own Set" for 2 ppl + 1 person (rather than 2x2) because we weren't that hungry. We did add an extra plate of beef brisket ($12) and it was allll way too much food! So plan accordingly - you don't need to follow their recommendations.I couldn't tell you what meat was what as they all came at once but I can tell you to SKIP THE BACON!! Just not anything special. I think the "garlic fried rice" was the best value noodle/rice choice on the menu. You get a full bowl of fried rice! The udon & noodles we got a tiny sliver and when it got divided amongst us I had like 4 strands. My friend said the "garlic fried rice" rivaled Benihana but she's wrong (Benihana's can't be beat) but this was still good. You will 10000% smell like bbq after. No way around it just due to how the restaurant layout & ventilation is.

If you're looking for a fun, interactive dining experience, Thai hot pot and BBQ is definitely a winner! The combo of hot pot and grill gives you the best of both worlds: a flavorful, simmering broth to dip fresh ingredients into. The BBQ side is a great opportunity to cook your favorite meats, from tender slices of beef and pork to seafood. Downside? It can get a little smoky, but they had the front door open. But overall, it's a fun and satisfying experience--especially if you love bold flavors and interactive dining. It's a great place to celebrate birthday. They put our birthday girl name on the tv screen and sing Hbd. Service was excellent and attentive to a group of 14.

During a recent trip to the Bay, my friend and I decided to try something new and have dinner at MuuKaTa6395 since her husband wasn't joining us (meant we could be more adventurous hehe). She had made a reservation for us at 6pm but was running a little late after our hike nearby, so she called telling the restaurant asking if we can change it to 630 and had no issues with it. We were promptly seated upon arrival to the back room with all the charcoal grills. Luckily it was "early" on a Friday night so it wasn't as busy yet.We had decided to try the CHELF'S SELECTION SET LARGE of the MUUKATA (authentic Thai Charcoal BBQ Hot Pot + Grill) which is served with chef choice of assorted meats, seafood, and assorted vegetable served with 2 noodles or rice. That in itself comes with bacon, pork liver, pork belly, kurobuta sausage, squid, shrimp, scallop, fish tofu, fish ball with roe. Also pork shoulder, chicken, and rib-eye marinated in Muukata sauce. Aside from that, we had deicded to add an extra BEEF TONGUE and a side order of GRILLED MARINATED PORK INTESTINES. There are 4 sauces to pick from on the menu (SEAFOOD (green) sauce, GARLIC sauce, MUUKATA (red) sauce, and TAMARIND sauce). We picked all but the garlic sauce. The GRILLED MARINATED PORK INTESTINES came out first with a tamarind dipping sauce. The unexpected thing was they used small intestines vs large intestines but nonetheless, this was delicious if you like pork intestines ! Portion was kind of small but its ok. The stuff for the set comes out periodically before even the pot/grill is placed (WITH REAL BRIQUETTE CHARCOAL). First was the meats one one plate, followed by all the veggies. Comes with an egg too for you to crack into the hot pot ring and cook in there. Its great to have a grill and hot pot combination but i hate that its a ring for the hot pot aspect. very shallow and narrow. it works but not very well. At least they keep refilling the broth when it goes low. I loved both the SEAFOOD (green) and MUUKATA (red) sauce. I kept going back and forth between each if not mixing both of them together. Spicy. Tangy. Sweet. Yummy ! Flavor wise, overall. Pretty Good. Quality of the meats weren't that good so it was kind of chewy but saving grace was definitely the sauces. I NEED those sauces in like anything meat related. Atmosphere wise, very loud and smokey (expected with the use of charcoal grills). Some groups talked quite loud so it was mildly difficult for us to hold a conversation ourselves. Not a bad meal. Unique. Never tried this before. Not bad priced. Would I come back? Probably. Flavors are good.

Never had Thai hot pot before until I came here and it was a great experience with good food. We ordered the soy sauce marinated salmon and each set of couple (there were 6 of us) ordered the large set which came with 5 items of your choice, noodle or rice and assorted veggies. There was plenty of food. They were packed and busy. The only complaint that I have is that the space is way too tight if you're not seated in the booths. We were seated in the back and we barely had any space to move and there's no space or anything to hang your jacket or purse/bag. The chairs are stools so there's no back support to hang your jacket and/or bags. I had to put it on my lap. Please have some sort of hang rack on the wall where we can put our personal belongings.Overall food was good and I will come back.

Love love love this spot. Authentic, delicious Thai dishes and sauces (muukata, seafood, and tamarind) across a mix of hot pot and mains. Great service, refilling drinks and cooking meats. + Papaya Salad with Salted Egg and Corn ($17): only place in America I've seen salted egg, corn, papaya salad!! And taste is perfect, savory salty egg with the sweet corn and crunchy papaya slices (8.8/10)+ Larb Woonsen ($15): sweet and acidic ground pork, shrimp, and Vietnamese sausage mixed with glass noodles. Refreshing bites between savory grilled meats (9/10)+ Beef Lovers Set ($55): comes with marinated short rib, rib eye marinated in muukata sauce, beef brisket, veggie platter, and choice of rice or noodles. We chose garlic rice. Short rib was our fave, then rib eye. Veggie platter had Napa, shredded cabbage, soon tofu, egg, carrot, mushroom and other greens (9.5/10)Great experience to come with friends and family for delicious dishes and fun time cooking.

Store has a front and back seating area. Great for large parties. We ordered the papaya salad with salted corn, larb woonsen glass noodle. Beef lovers set, choose your own set B, and udon Tom yum soup. They provide the charcoal grill with a little moat for broth. Staff provided more broth when needed. Got the free Thai iced tea with yelp review coupon.Salted egg papaya salad was solid but I do not prefer salted egg and did not find the flavors perfectly complimentary 6.5/10Larb woonsen noodle reminds me of the garlic clam shell Chinese noodle dish but a little more sour in taste. Loved this dish 9/10All meat was very tender, moist, and tasty no complaints ( scallop, marinated chicken, marinated pork, pork belly, scallops, pork shoulder meat, rib eye beef)Tom yum soup was like a sour version of American tomato onion soup. I found it was a bit too sour for my taste 7/10 however the pork in the dish was delicious crunchy moist and tender 10/10.

This was a fun spot to try out Thai BBQ at! Service was amazing - the staff was so friendly and attentive. The restaurant had several tables in the back, and we happened to go on a day where there was a large party happening. It might just have been the acoustics of the place, but it was incredibly loud, with people yelling and it echoing in my ears. Other than that, the food was pretty good. The portions were on the smaller side for the price, and the meat was just okay. I liked the bbq + hotpot setup which allowed for variety.

===TL;DR=== - Thai charcoal bbq hotpot and grill - create your own set large (2 people)- Udon Tom yum soup ===TMI===Kind of glad I waited this place out before I try them cause it seems like they had mixed reviews starting out. Now, I actually think they're pretty good for what it is. Love the option to mix and match on what you want from proteins, seafood, vegetables and carbs. Quite enjoy their soup base, very appetizing. Now the concept of hotpot x grill in one pot can either be a hit or miss but it works out for them. Good overall were yummy. Loveeeeeed their sauces, it just pairs so well with the meal. Their Tom yum udon soup was also delicious except the udon didn't meet my expectation. More in the starchy side so it just breaks easily vs. that chewy bouncy texture. This was more than enough food for 2 people tho! Staffs were attentive and joyful! Love their enthusiasm.
