Muracci's Japanese Curry & Grill

It's been a very long time since I've been here. I was in the FiDi running errands and decided to get my lunch here to go. I got the ebi katsu curry. I figured it's the same price as the chicken katsu curry, so why not? The person who took my order was super nice. He asked if I wanted brown or white rice. I had that Patrick Star stare when Squidward asks him to place his order, but I snapped out of it when told I can do half/half. I placed my order and went to do my errands. My order was ready within the 15mins I was out.The meal came with 3 huge pieces of friend shrimp, cabbage, pickled daikon, and rice. The portion of rice was perfect for the amount of shrimp. No bite was without rice. The shrimp itself was perfectly fried, super crunchy, and very meaty. The curry was good. I got it mild and it had a slight sweetness. The brown rice was soft. After pouring the curry and mixing the different rices, I couldn't tell which was brown or white. I think I would get full brown rice next time. After taxes and tip, it came out to around $20. I was ravenous so I ate the entire thing and was perfectly full. But I think I would be able to stretch a chicken or pork katsu curry in two meals, so that's something to think about. There's no indoor dining space anymore. The register is now at the window that you walk up to. I think if you want traditional Japanese curry in the FiDi, then Muracci's is the place to go. But definitely order before noon because that lunch rush is no joke. The wait can be very long.

I had Muracci's a while back but I absolutely remember what a fun experience this was. This is a small restaurant that really specializes in Katsu curry. Don't expect something fancy, but expect delicious food. This place is popular so I had to wait in line, but it is great for a lunch meal. I got the chicken katsu which came piping hot, crispy and was absolutely delicious with the curry. The rice was plentiful as well. Overall, I would try this place again and would recommend one to check it out!

A classic takeout spot for Japanese curry! I decided to switch things up and get an onigiri lunch set instead - it came with 2 salmon onigiri and 1 grilled rice ball, some edamame, a potato croquette, and some karaage. There was a small line of people waiting for their food outside, so recommend either ordering ahead or being willing to wait 10-15 mins for your takeout box. I thought my food was okay for $16.50, relatively filling and average price for an SF meal (I think the katsu and katsu curry were also $16-$18 each)

3.5 if i could as i'm deducting points for lack of sitting space and pretty long ish wait times. customer service is great! they're super nice and helpful. it does suck that there that space is so small and they have no dining spaces in order to enjoy their food. so i just go to plentea, buy a drink and sit and eat there if i'm in a time crunch. also, the wait times, even when there's no line, does take a hot minute. i can appreciate that they're making everything fresh but i've waited up to 15-20 mins for food before and under the blazing sun of financial district, i'm fried. what i can say is great is their portions and good flavors. THOUGH they give more curry than rice so expect leftovers of curry sauce for home. i personally recommend their underrated cheese omelette curry as most places doesn't have a dish like so. (croquette is meh and the karaage is very seasoned but average.)i wanna try more stuff on their menu but the cheese omelette is always a safe n delicious choice :)

11.13.2024. A small little window that you can order from. It's perfect for people who work nearby. Katsu & Curry. I got medium spice on the curry. Katsu was nice and crispy and the curry nicely spiced. Reminded me a bit of like Indian curry spices. I didn't taste the sweetness that I usually associate with Japanese curry. Portions are pretty big so I was full and I only ate half! I do wish there were veggies or some potatoes in the curry. It just didn't feel complete.

Small shop but with amazing food . The curry here is authentic! I'd always come here after class to crab a quick bite or get a takeout. So sad that they only open during the weekdays.

Tbh I don't even like Japanese curry all that much but I heard this place was good, so I had to try what they're known for. I ordered:Chicken Karaage (Large): This had huge pieces of chicken. Crispy on the outside and moist inside. Try it with the curry sauce but don't forget to squeeze the lemon on it first. It is mind blowing!Chicken Katsu Curry: Crispy chicken katsu on a bed of rice, pickled ginger and cabbage with curry sauce on the side. Wow! I am now a fan of Japanese curry. I like to dip my katsu in the sauce instead of pouring the sauce over the katsu.I think I'll be craving this again very soon!

Delicious katsudon. Great servings and always on time for pick up. Polite and kind staffs too.
