The (fantastic) salmon ceviche roll, plus the quail egg "nigiri" which goes really well with ponzu sauce. The spicy scallop was just OK.

Great family friendly restaurant. Food was mixed (I'll note the fish did taste fairly fresh), but service was amazing. THE WAITNone on a Saturday at 5:30pm. We were the first ones sat for dinner. They were pretty busy by the time we left at 6:30.SERVICEExcellent, I can't say enough good things. The staff were so attentive, and every time I turned around to request anything (hot water, an extra share bowl, there were 2 or 3 people ready to help right away). My husband was pouring out the last of his green tea, and someone immediately came over to refill it. We ordered a cucumber roll for our kids, not realizing it's actually a cucumber + carrots + other veggies roll (totally our fault for not asking), and when we just inquired, they immediately replaced it. We got a side of ramen with miso broth, which is not at all on the menu, but they accommodated this request for our kids, and it was still a giant bowl (more than enough for a 4 and a 6 year old!). FAMILY FRIENDLYYes! They had coloring sheets for our kids, and a little tupperware full of crayons. Of course, there's all the great things I mentioned above about their service and accommodating our picky kids. COST$104.83 before tips for 1 tea, 3 sides, 4 rolls. They mentioned because the order was more than $100, we had to split the payment into two on Google Pay. However, we kept getting repeat errors, and in the end had to use our debit card.SMALL PLATES* Ecstasy Roll ($15) - 2.5 stars. This isn't listed with the rolls because it doesn't have rice. I didn't expect a warm roll, the fish was quite fresh, but the roll was very bland in flavor. * Grilled Chicken Skewers ($12) - 4 stars. These were great! Very juicy chicken. Too bad my daughter is used to the dry chicken satay sticks at thai restaurants and didn't like this.SPECIALTY ROLLS* Santa Cruz Roll ($15.50) - 2.5 stars. Underwhelming, the spinach didn't go well with the salmon & cream cheese. * Salmon Reunion Roll ($16.50) - 3.5 stars. Would have been good, except the salmon skin was insanely crunchy, not like chips might add a bit of texture, but like breaks apart into jagged pieces and kind of hurts your mouth.SPECIALTY SPICY ROLLS* Volcano Roll ($16.50) - 3 stars. Fine, not a standout, but good for what it was (salmon, tempura shrimp & asparagus, avocado, spicy sauce).

I have been coming here since they first opened on Cortland Avenue. It's a little gem in cozy Bernal Heights. I've never been disappointed. I love their Inferno Roll (for those who love spicy things) and their salmon ceviche roll. We also love their Lion King roll. My kiddo loves the Ikura nigiri and the kid fish meal. Such a family oriented restaurant. The staff, especially Ed is always friendly and attentive. They always make my kiddo feel good-it recently was her birthday and they sang happy birthday to her. She loved it. We love this place. Wouldn't be Bernal without it. Love Love Love

We've been coming here for years and it's still one of the few places everyone in the family loves. Sushi is always good and fresh (especially love the drum roll with mango and mint), my daughter loves the ramen and chicken karaage and baby back ribs, salads and specials are good too. Service always friendly, and I love the Hawaiian music and ambiance.

We love our neighborhood sushi spot. The dinning space has soft low lighting, often a game playing up on the tv. The staff has been wonderful over the years. The sushi experience is always reliable and delicious. The Ahi poke is a great appetizer. We have our go to favorites like the Warriors roll, green monster or big island. We have been coming here for 10+ years.

I've been a fan of Moki's since they were in their first location further east, on Cortland.I don't eat here that often, mostly because I want to keep it a special place. That said, what drew me there many years ago, their vegetarian rolls, keep me coming back. Still tasty after all these years. Thanks, Moki's!

Moki has been our family's go-to sushi spot for MANY years; our daughter lives in Brooklyn, and it is always a "must" on a visit home. Interesting and varied options (corn fritters); impeccably fresh fish (the spicy hotate is the only thing we can't share -- we each need our own order); too many delicious rolls to choose from ("Ecstasy Roll' is unadorned, but tuna lovers will love it); very sweet staff. WE LOVE YOU, MOKI!!!

I've been eating at Moki's since I moved into Bernal sooo many years ago when it first opened in a smaller space on Cortland. Prices are higher, as expected, but now the service is less attentive when it's not crowded and food portions are much smaller. They served our rolls as separate, thin slices laid out flat on a small plate that were impossible to pick up with chopsticks without sticking to the dish and falling apartl I will no longer get sushi at Moki's or take out of town guests there. There are many better sushi places in the city.
