Mid East Market

We had Med East Market cater our faculty luncheon last month and it was fabulous. I spoke with Randa and she helped me gauge how much food we needed and helped arrange pick ups. We needed two pick ups and everything went very smoothly. Both Tony and Randa were excellent and very organized. The food was well received by the faculty at our school. Everyone wanted to know where the food was from. We shared business cards and I'm sure recruited many new customers for them. Thanks to them our luncheon was a success!

No frills, but the falafel is good. The guy at the counter was a bit rough around the edges when he told me to pay the cashier in the grocery store. So I left the building and entered a different door where a friendly, polite young man took my order and handed me a ticket. The falafel plate included a salad, hummus, and pita bread was a bit pricey but the number of falafel balls made up for it. I ate the rest later. Good takeout place. You can also order baba ganoush that's in the refrigerator

If you're looking for incredible food and even better hospitality, Mid East Market is the place to go--and Tony is the heart and soul of the experience. From my very first visit, Tony made me feel welcome like I was family. He noticed I was new to the store and immediately went out of his way to introduce me to their famous falafel by offering me a half-dozen for free. I was shocked by his kindness and generosity--it was such a rare and refreshing experience!What amazed me even more is that Tony's friendliness isn't just a one-time thing or a good mood--it's who he is. Every time I visit, he greets me with the same warmth and genuine hospitality that reminds me of the heart of Middle Eastern culture. It's not just about shopping; it's about feeling connected and cared for.And let me tell you, his falafel? It's hands-down the best I've ever had. Crispy on the outside, perfectly spiced on the inside, and always fresh. It's the kind of food that makes you crave it long after the last bite. I've tried falafel from many places, but Tony's is on another level--it's my #1 choice every time.Mid East Market has become one of my favorite places, not just for the amazing food but because of people like Tony who make you feel at home. In February, we ordered a lot of food from Mid East Market for a teacher and staff appreciation luncheon at a nearby school hosted by PTA. We ordered big platters of falafel, shawarma, hummus, baba ganoush, rice, pita, tabbouleh, steak, chicken and more--everything was sooo good! The portions were generous, and everyone loved it. The only thing we ran out of? Business cards--because so many teachers and staff wanted to know where the food was from so they could go again. Thank you, Mid East Market!

Hidden gem on el Camino. Do not hesitate to get a dozen of their falafel, no get 2 dozen bc they are so good fresh (and reheat well in the air fryer)! I also recommend the marinated chicken kebabs for grilling at home.

First time at this place. And I ordered a beef shawarma wrap. It was very delicious and they put a lot of meat as well.

Someone had recommended I try this place, and I'm glad they did. This is a small market, and in the building next to it, there is take out and a meat counter available. This is a very casual place. Friendly service, if you tip you'll notice even bigger smiles from the cook behind the counter. If you're ordering take out, the portions are fresh and generous. It looks like everything is made to order. I ordered falafels, and they were made right away. One tip is that after you order, you pay next door at the grocery store, and come back for your food. If you want to eat there, there is one table. Primarily this is a take out place for the food. And the food was fresh and delicious.

Holy falafel moly, Mid East Market is officially my fave falafel (green) spot in the Bay Area. SO sad it's all the way up in San Bruno, but I'll drive there anytime for their homemade falafel.Get yourself some tasty, Palestinian falafel and shawarma after you finish a gorgeous San Bruno hike. Mid East Market is easy to spot, right on the corner off of busy El Camino Real. There is street parking but also a few like 4 spots for customers. They're separated into a deli/hot food stand and if you decide to walk through the door on your right, it's the actual market/bodega. In the spirit of anti-genocide and Free Palestine, we bought some Palestinian olive oil for $13 which had a light, fruity and floral flavor to it in a 1L glass bottle as recommended by the store owner. I love using it to dip into my Palestinian hummus or some fresh pita.For the deli and hot food stands, they sell fresh meat which is at an affordable price. The butcher grinds the ground meats in the store in front of you, so that was cool to see. Plus, I was today years old when I learned about Kufta, aka mixed and ground up meat mix with various spices! We didn't end up buying any of the meat, but we did order a lamb plate and falafel plate entrees and a container of their homemade hummus from the mini fridge. SO worth it. Their saffron rice (yellow) was SO tasty, it was flavorful and we couldn't get enough. The lamb was flavorful and not gamey, we don't usually go for lamb, but this dude knows exactly how to grill and season it. The fresh salata, cucumber and tomato salad as well as their pickled radish and pickles were the perfect sides to cut through the heavy meats. Their hummus I can't stop drooling over, and those falafel tasted hella good in the air fryer the next day.You only have to wait like 10 mins for your hot food, might as well take a peek next door at their market to see if you want any Pali goods. The kind men working the shops are helpful and patient too. I swear I stared at their giant basket of fresh homemade falafel, and the sesame seeds were SO huge I could see it from the other side of the room. May Palestine be loudly, proudly free. End the Israeli oppression, and support all Palestinian products and businesses! Let's boost Mid East Market yelpers!

Delicious falafel, generous portions, extremely friendly staff, authentic food and items for sale, and service is very quick and very very FRESH! You must try this place out, it's a best kept secret! Support this awesome family owned business and you will see what I mean!

Zero customer service in the meat and grill area but grocery ppl were nice. Came here after craving some middle eastern food and seeing the high ratings on yelp. Pretty excited I was expecting something great but soon after arriving in the grill area I was left thoroughly confused. The place had maybe 1 other Patron with 1 person in the grill and 2 in the fresh meat area. I patiently waited to get some help from someone and let things be considering this was my first time here. Finally the meat guy informs me the grill guy was the person I should order with. After minutes pass the busy grill guy frees up and asks me what I needed. I ordered several plates through him then stood around thinking what's next? I finally asked the meat guy again where and how do I pay. It was then revealed toMe that I had to walk across the lot and pay at the adjacent grocery spot. A setup like this really deserves some signs or some workers that are aware of customers that are unclear of how the system works to explain the process. It's a very confusing place if u have never been or are accustomed to a more streamline operation. We did a bit of shopping at the grocery place and paid for some items including the meals I ordered at the grill . The lady here was conversely much different from the ppl at the other side... she was very pleasant and nice. I then walked back to the grill and after about 15 min later our food was finally done. Total time from the time we ordered to the food being ready was more than 30 min. The unfriendly grill guy hands me my food and I said thank u to him. Zero response and customer service from him like my previous interaction . No you're welcome or anything. Based on the food and experience we will likely never go here again. In general I have been to some spots that had awesome food and zero customer service and I choose to patronize them due to the food being that awesome and nearly irreplaceable . Far East market is not one of them places as I can literally go to several others that are just as good on the food or even better and have friendly customer service .Perhaps the grill guy had a bad day but remember one bad experience in the restaurant biz could be unforgiving especially when the offerings aren't unique .
