** The following review reflects my shopping experience DURING the COVID-19 pandemic. **There's probably a walking tour that takes into account all the specialty markets to be found just on Mission Street. Because the produce is presented identically at most of the stores, none of them really stood out to me with the possible exception of this one. Why? Because they have a lot of tropical fruits I wouldn't normally consider had I not been walking by - mangoes, papayas, pineapples - probably enough for me to make my own mangonada if I knew how to make a mangonada. All the other staples can be found inside, and prices are on par with the other markets. I say check it out. Should I stick my thumb up now?RELATED - Lost in the Mission? Here's a collection of places I've visited and reviewed: https://bit.ly/2NHtst6

Great value for your money. Look for low prices on selected fruits and vegetables. For a while, got three pounds of organic oranges for on dollar. One time I bought several pounds of fruit, and they gave me a tomato free.

Only spot in San Francisco that I have found Materva. They always have them in stock.

You cannot beat the prices for fruit and vegetables. I have been going to this store for many years and the owners have changed but his one is a keeper. The onions often are 3lbs for one dollar. During the summer the cherry tomatoes are two baskets for one dollar, celery bunches two for one dollar, small pineapple is one dollar and strawberries large basket is one dollar. They have also teas, calling cards, Mexican cookies and spices and basic grocery supplies.

This has always been my favorite grocery. I cross the city just to go here. The service was always outstanding. Today the prices had gone up much more than I expected, the quality of the vegetables was very low, and the owner or manager of the market was screaming at the top of his lungs to a woman he was talking to on the phone, calling her a bitch and screaming fuck you. I was shaking just listening to him and he went on for more than 5 minutes. I will not be back. This type of behavior is very unprofessional.

I second everything said before. And I'll add they have a separate meat counter in the back of the store. The meats are all very fresh and reasonably priced. Only downside is that's is basically a separate store, and so you have to pay the folks at the counter for your meat. Every time I come in, I load up my basket with produce and random goods and am always pleased at how little I have to pay. When avocados are in season, I will challenge you to try and eat through $2's worth. Yeah, them's fightin' words..

Woohooo! My new found place for all my grocery needs. Here's the list:- 1 Papaya- 1 bag of cherries- 5 white nectarines-3 kiwis- a pack of garlic (comes in five) - 18 large eggs- 1.5 Gallon of milk- 5 tomatoes - 3 yellow onions-2 bussels of green onions-4 zucininis *DRUM ROLL* .......... $20.21!!!! HOLY GUACAMOLE! I bought 2 boxes of cereal, 2 bottles of tomato sauce, and 1 little case of mushrooms at Safeway for a little over $18. Seriously, I would be stupid to chose Safeway over Mi Ranchito! Now, I won't lie to you, there are some things that I prefer to get organic......but fresh produce here is much healthier than going to some fast food restaurant and eating god knows what kind of meat or unknown object. In addition to the great deals, the people there are really friendly, and the only con I've experienced was my way back home when I had to walk hella blocks down with a huge and heavy bag full of fresh affordable groceries! A pain that I will be looking forward to as long as I live in the Mission! Thank you yelp for this amazing discovery! *For those of you looking to drive, if you get there early enough there's a TON of street parking *

When it comes to dirt cheap groceries, Latin grocery stores got Asian grocery stores beat, and Mi Ranchito is the best quality-bang-for-your-buck store on Mission Street.Yesterday I got a bag full of nectarines, another bag full of peaches, 3 mangos, a handful of carrots, a bunch of brocoli heads, and a large cucumber... all for $5.34!Screw organic food that costs 10 times the price and spoils 10 times faster than the produce I find here. And those hot Latin boys I see in the Mission who were raised on these non-organic groceries look just fine to me. I like to go either early in the morning or late Sunday evening when parking is still plentiful.

One stop of my Definitive Mission Grocery Guide:PRODUCE (delivery dates: almost every day?)I see a truck pull up everyday with different stuff so I'm not sure when they get fruit VS veggie shipment. That being said - this place is my fruit and rando-vegetables shop.$0.69/lb peaches/nectarines/plums/apples$1 for 5 avocados$1 for 2-3 lb of bananas$1 for 1 medium box of strawberries$1 for 2 canteloupe$3 for 2 pineapple$1 for 2 cucumbers$1 for 2 bundles of cilantro$1 for 3 kiwisIf Duc Loi is my Asian produce stop, Mi Ranchito is my general purpose produce shop. You should have everything you need after hitting up these two grocery shops and hitting up City Discount for onions.

What a great market! I just got back home and felt the need to brag about my grocery list and how much it cost me:3 onions4 tomatoes1 bell pepper1 clove of garlic1 bunch of cilantro1 lb of mozzarella 3/4 lb of bacon2 cans of pinto beans1 can of enchilada sauceSour cream1 lb bag of rice1 can of diced tomatoes1 can chipotle peppers50 ct bag orcorn tortillasBay leavesHalf gallon milkTotal= $25.61... Seriously. This was my first time at this market and I now feel silly for going to Safeway and Trader Joes. The staff there is SO friendly. The lady at the meat counter helped me figure out how much bacon I needed to get enough fat to make some yummy refried beans. The guy at the checkout counter kindly laughed when I mentioned the long walk I had home and gave me change and directed me to the bus stop that would drop me off near my door step. (I haven't figured out the bus lines so I usually walk everywhere. Silly, I know). So this place pretty much rocked. If you live in the area, I highly recommend giving it a chance. Oh yeah, and they take credit/debit cards. I shall stop praising Mi Ranchito now... I need to start cooking my enchiladas, refried beans and rice!
