I've been to Maruwu Seicha countless times now, and it never disappoints. Tucked away in Japan Town, this spot feels like it truly belongs there. Every time I go, there's a long line, but honestly, it makes sense because this place is amazing. Most of the times I've gone, it's been with my girlfriend, and we both have our go-to drinks. Her favorite is the Strawberry Matcha Latte, while mine is the Taro Matcha Latte. Both are solid choices, but if I had to pick, the Taro Matcha Latte is unmatched. The sweetness is perfectly balanced, and the blend of matcha and taro is so smooth--it doesn't feel like you're drinking separate layers, just a perfectly crafted drink. This spot is 100% a must-try if you're in SF. I keep coming back, and honestly, I'm even considering buying their matcha tins to make some at home.

My wife and I stopped by Maruwu Seicha for dessert after dinner in the plaza nearby. We picked up their matcha soft serve and two egg tarts -- the original flavor, and a matcha one. Since it wasn't busy, our order was ready in less than a minute. The staff works impressively fast.Of the items we ordered, the match soft serve was definitely the star. The dessert is creamy, yet light and not too sweet. If you're a fan of matcha, you will absolutely love the soft serve. The generous amount of powdered matcha dusted on top adds a ton of flavor. If you've never tried matcha before, just be prepared for some herbal and bitter notes. The egg tarts were unfortunately a bit of a disappointment and are not items I would order again. The egg tarts were a little bit too custardy on the inside, which made me wonder if the tarts themselves were under-baked. The crust also did not stand up to the custard-like filling and ended up being soggy, when I would've expected it to be buttery and flakey.I would definitely stop by here again for the soft-serve.

Spectacular give me 14 of them right now!Maruwu is definitely my favorite matcha spot in sf. I always like to get their matcha latte with Okinawa boba. The matcha taste & color is there! You won't get disappointed with the lack of matcha taste for all the matcha lovers out there. It is definitely a sweet drink so adjust to your personal preferences. I have a sweet tooth so their regular sweetness is perfect for me! Staff is always friendly even during crazy rushes. The drinks also come out pretty quickly.I would recommend this drink and this matcha place!!

It's worth stopping by here if you're in the mall and want a treat! The matcha pistachio latte was exceptional. The pistachio flavor was present without being overwhelming. The matcha tart was a bit too strong on the matcha flavor for my personal preference but the texture was rich and silky.

Whenever I'm in japantown I love getting my matcha from here. The flavors and taste are so consistent. This location does get super busy since japantown is packed almost every weekend but the staff works really quick that you're not waiting forever for your drinks or desserts.

That Hokkaido soft serve is everything. It's creamy, yummy, without being overpoweringly sweet. Just simply comfortingly delicious. No one is counting calories here, not today. Store is in Japantown and line doesn't seem to die down. I seriously wanted to try everything at the shop. Good excuse to go back...and soon.

Amazing ice cream and cheese tarts. I like the Hokkaido milk and ube ice cream, and the Hokkaido milk cheese tarts. Service is great too. And really quick! I highly recommend this place.I tried all 3 flavors of both the ice cream and cheese tarts, which includes Hokkaido milk, matcha, and ube (ice cream) or strawberry (cheese tart). I liked the milk flavor the best in both cases, but the ube ice cream is also great. I personally don't like matcha all that much but others seemed to like it.Might be the best ice cream I've ever had. And cheese tarts too. Will be back when in the city!

I don't really see the hype behind this place, maybe because I didn't try the tart? Also LMAO at the people waiting in the super long fisted line when it can easily be bypassed in less than 2 minutes through mobile ordering and just doing pick up. I literally just sat down, mobile ordered, boyfriend picked up for me and saved us a lot of suffering. I got the: 1) Matcha Latte (half sweet):-What's the best way to compare matcha places with one another than getting a standard drink to compare across the board? -Unfortunately, even at half sweetness this just tasted like a standard matcha latte. Very low matcha taste to it and tasted like sweet milk with a hint of matcha. -At half sweetness this was crazy. I'd skip this drink and get something else next time.2) Matcha Lemon Soda:-I got this at zero sweetness since my boyfriend does no sugar. -It's matcha with lemon slices and bubbly soda. -Definitely a stronger matcha taste to it and the grassy stronger taste of the matcha is interesting with the slight sour taste of the lemon. -Pretty refreshing, but it does get dense towards the bottom of the drink, even with mixing it. -Overall, just alright. Honestly, it just tasted on the same level of something that I would get at Matcha Maiko down in SoCal and I think there is one in Jtown here too? The quality of the matcha is nowhere near LA's Little Tokyo's Tea Master Matcha and is LEGIONS below Torrance's Yamari. Even the Junbi chain does a better job than this. That strong delicious matcha taste just isn't there, at least for me.

Saw this spot pop up recently on social media and had it bookmarked. There's often long lines here but stuff comes out quickly.Pistachio matcha drink: B+Loved the pistachio flavor, complimented the matcha quite well. Drink was very sweet but refreshing.Matcha tart: ADelicious, perfect dessert after a nice Japanese meal. The crust is crumbly and the matcha cheesecake is light, medium sweet, and creamy. I'd come back just to order like half a dozen of these (all for myself)

First time trying this matcha spot in Japantown. Can be very popular with long lines so I recommend coming during off hours. Two lines when you enter - left line for self order kiosk, right line for ordering with a staff member.Mango matcha latte is aesthetically pleasing and the mango at the bottom is sweet and tasty. Be sure to stir before drinking. Flavors were well balanced with the matcha flavor coming out well but not overpowering. Matcha was a bit grainy though but not too bad.
