Market Mayflower & Deli

Been wanting to come here since a friend had told me that their sandwiches were delicious.I was also surprised that they did lettuce wrapped.Great value for an all-around great sandwich will probably come here again.

What an incredible neighborhood market. I feel fortunate to live a block away from this gem. Great selection of produce, sundries (local, international, and name brands), and the main sell for me is the incredible wine selection. My favorite wine is hard to find and Mayflower carries it!!!! The deli is incredible too! Friendly service and nice clean market.

My wife and I stopped in for sandwiches while we waited for my daughter's errands. The staff was so rude to my wife and the sandwiches were ok.

It's a pretty legit, well stocked neighborhood market. Unfortunately the staff is very slow and really fucking rude. I'll take my business elsewhere every time. Suck it Mayflower. I don't need to say thank you to the cashier to get a reply with Yep. 'Yep' gets you a shit YELP. I'll happily support Sutter Fine Foods.

I've been here for years, and the place is very clean, and for a small grocery store, well stocked. It's a family run business and has a deli with sandwiches and salads that are terrific. The main reason for this review is their cheesecake. My neighbor told me it was the best she's ever had. Today, I got it, and my God, it was so well textured and not hard like most and truly amazing. I was told they make it themselves. Whomever their baker is, they sure know what they're doing!

I've been coming to this establishment for 8 months now. This morning I found mold inside of my muffin, despite this complication the staff were very helpful and willing to give me my money back which was nice. However, having mold inside of a muffin is unacceptable, I won't be returning to this establishment. If you intend on shopping here be cautious, because if the owner is leaving muffins in the store for that long i wonder what else he's letting slide.

Awesome little market and deli located near our hotel! They have all the basics and more. All kinds of sandwiches and deli foods, fresh fruit, vegetables, beer, liquor, etc.The staff are really friendly. We told them we were staying nearby and they told us they also make up vegetable trays and meat, cheese and crackers trays we could take back to our hotel or have delivered.

The food quality to Go is Too Great!!!Very friendly staff !!!The place is clean open and wide selection of items.

I used to live in NYC so have a great appreciation for an excellent corner store. I was worried I wouldn't find the same in SF until I moved into this neighborhood then BAM enter Mayflower Market.Let me start from the beginning. I was walking home down Bush Street one night in the fog when I got the sense that someone was following me. I crossed the street, I walked into traffic in the street, and still couldn't shake this crazy man. So then I see Mayflower just about to shutter for the night and walk in looking pretty alarmed (blink twice if you need help). One of the store managers could tell based on my demeanor what was going on so offered to let me stay in the store with him while he closed up for a few minutes, then escorted me to my apartment around the corner to make sure I got home safely. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? How damn nice is that? That's exactly what this place is. They are nice. They recognize you when you come in and care about your well being. They remember details about you and ask how you are. This is the epitome of local community, and is why we need to further invest in local businesses. But I digress.Apart from being exceptionally friendly, this market has it all. Need fresh produce? They've got a better selection than Trader Joe's (and it lasts longer too). They've got an epic wine selection and an uncanny knowledge of it to boot. They've got pretty much anything you could ever need -- great selection and great prices. Since the pandemic started I do ALL my grocery shopping here. No need to fret about standing in line or marching groceries all the way home.I'm sadly leaving SF and am going to miss this place, especially the family who owns it. Their friendliness and care have made me feel a little more at home in this corner of Nob Hill.Thank you guys for all you do!

I needed sandwiches for 3 days of meetings, and we had tried 2 other places for Mon and Tues (one mom-and-pop sandwich place and one nicer established chain). They were ok but we wanted to look for the best place. I found this market on the 3rd day of searching through Yelp reviews. We ordered about 11 sandwiches with chips the day of at 9:30 a.m. for 11:30 a.m. delivery. Ray was so helpful in taking our order, delivering the sandwiches, and being gracious even though I forgot to tell him to add a tip for the delivery! I waited for reviews from the meeting attendees, and they liked these sandwiches the best. We will be back next year, and I saved this business so that I can use them for all our lunches next year.
