Been following this place on IG since they opened a while back, seems very authentic so was very excited to visit. The lady that served us was so sweet and didn't speak English, but we were able to communicate well enough. Place inside is quite spacious, several tables and even a back drop of their restaurant name for photos. They were playing 90s/2000s pop music quite loudly, think usher lil Wayne etc - definitely an interesting music choice. We ordered the shrimp ceviche with mangoes, could definitely feed 4 people so we brought the leftovers home. It came with tostada shells and oddly enough a biscuit cracker thing. The mangoes were fairly green and not sweet, but they were quite generous with the portions and shrimp hiding at the bottom of the photo. At first it tasted quite bland but as you work your way through the spice notes started hitting, so definitely blend it up first. They served chips and salsa immediately upon seating, but beware if you ask for water they will give you bottle waters ($2 each). It's definitely a place for locals and for those that want authentic ceviche and other Mexican seafood dishes. Credit cards have 4% additional fee so bring cash if you can.

Was a little dismayed at first based on the prices and the fact that they served sushi, but i was pleasantly surprised by how massive the portions are. We ordered the ceviche, and it was large enough for 3 people with tostadas and crackers. It had good flavor, but it became a lot to eat after a while. They did give free chips and salsa with a small kick. The dining space was filled with plenty of tables, the staff were very friendly, and we really enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant with fun decorations and music.

I wanted to write a longer review the first time but didn't get a chance. This is a full service Mexican seafood restaurant located in a strip shopping center that has a grocery store, laundry mat and taqueria. This is what used to be the Kingston Cafe. The flavors are vibrant and authentic. The owner showed me the bag of particular chile beans (can't remember the name but I'm showing a picture of them). The salsas and guacamole were all fresh. At first I thought the prices were a bit high until I saw the large portion sizes and realized it was a great value. We ordered the following:1. Fish Tostada and Shrimp Tostada - excellent - great portion size. If you are not a big eater, one of these would do for you. The fish was shredded and had a unique almost nutty flavor.2. Cielo Mar y Tierra - kind of a sushi, deep fried with meat and shrimp and chicken. Really yummy.3. Shrimp Tacos - 3 VERY large shrimp tacos.4. Horchata - always refreshingI also note their Mango hot sauce on the table was outstanding as well. I recommend visiting this new restaurant. It's a great find for the off the beaten path San Mateo location.

Food and service was pretty good, a lot of character. It's nice they accept Apple Pay as well as the fact they serve Japanese-Mex style fusion food including their notable sushi.

My partner and I ordered the shrimp tacos, marlin tacos and a ceviche tostada during our visit. Of the three, the ceviche tostada was the favorite, with an ample serving of ceviche and good flavor. However the shrimp tacos and marlin tacos were a bit disappointing, considering the price. (Shrimp -$15, Marlin - $18). Shrimp tacos were not bad, but the shrimp were quite dry and overall bland. Marlin tacos were super salty and just topped with two bruised slices of avocado. We thought the avocado creme that came with the tacos was the only part that made the tacos taste okay.

Absolutely recommend this place! I have heard about it for awhile and been wanting to try it out. After my normal spot was closed I finally decided to try this place out and I don't why I waited this long to try it. The food was extremely delicious. I think the prices are very reasonable and fair. The portions are of good size too. They also sale imported salsas and other goodies. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with a friendly staff member, she explained the menu and even their daily specials. I took my food to go but would love to go back and dine in. The place looked clean and parking was a breeze. As we left an employee even gave us a sample of their dessert and he was very kind I wish I got their names. 10/10 authentic seafood place. Can't wait to go back again :)

Excellent service. I love it when the cook/chef comes out and ask how everything tastes, making sure the foods are good. Food good portion and taste authentic to me. I just got back from Mexico City after a month living there, ate a lot of street food and expensive Mexican food. So I know what I'm talking about when I say it's good. Hehehhe

Food is great but take a long time. From the time we arrived to actually getting our food the wait was over one hour. The order was just one taco and one aguachile. Waiter stopped by our table twice during this time, to take our order and to give us plates. I would reccommend this place if you have ample time to spare.
