Lazy Sundays call for food delivery and trashy reality tv. Gotta save them brain cells for things that matter!Lazy Sundays also call for menudo after a night of drinking. I found Mama Mari's Taqueria on DoorDash and they had the most reasonably priced menudo so gave them a try (no inflated pricing for delivery). Mexico Tipico is my go-to in The Excelsior but they don't offer delivery. Looks like been Mama Mari's Taqueria has been open for over 2 years in The Excelsior. Crazy they only have 4 reviews. M E N UStandard taqueria fare: Tacos, quesadillas, quesabirra, burritos, and platos. Jumbo size quesadillas and burritos available. Protein choices: Pollo, carnitas, asada, al pastor, chorizo, camaron, pescado, etc. No offal. F O O D* Menudo: Mexican Beef Tripe Soup ($14.99) // 4 Stars: https://tinyurl.com/4sxsyr6x--No pata (pig's foot) or hominy (maize kernels). The menudo was hearty, chockfull of meltingly soft and gelatinous honeycomb tripe. The broth was bland so I had to doctor it up with the accompanying dried oregano, chili, onions, cilantro, and lime. For the price, I was pleasantly surprised that their corn tortillas (3) were handmade. While soft, chewy, and pliable, it had a funky aftertaste. * Baby Carnitas Burrito ($8.50) // 3 Stars: https://tinyurl.com/487zec84- "Baby" size is not listed on their in-store menuGood amount of tender carnitas, bland with no crisp/charred edges. Rice and pinto beans also didn't have flavor. There was pico, a sprinkle of cheese, dallop of crema, and ripen avocado. They included two salsas: tangy salsa verde and mildly spicy salsa roja. You can get a burrito at hundreds of other places along Mission and surrounding streets so not something I would order again. * Baby Al Pastor Burrito ($8.50)Not mine, didn't try. S E R V I C EFood arrived hot and in less than 30 minutes!Overall, the menudo hit the spot with great cookery on the tripe. If you're watching your sodium or prefer your food very lightly seasoned, I think Mama Mari's Taqueria may be a decent option.

i was a little hesitant about this place because of the lack of reviews but i decided to give it a shot. being an la native i am very particular about mexican food and with that being said i'm pleasantly surprised. i've tried a few different mexican spots that were recommended to me and they are not worth mentioning. i'm always on the lookout for at least a decent taco/burrito place in the bay area. mama mari's taqueria is pretty good. i ordered their quesabirria, 3 al pastor tacos & 3 asada tacos. the quesabirria's meat isn't really seasoned and i won't be ordering it again but the al pastor tacos with the lime, cilantro and onion and the hot sauces give it the right flavor and heat. i'd definitely order from them again for their tacos and to try their burritos.

This place is a gem. Super quality traditional Mexican goodness. I love their huevos rancheros for breakfast, gorditas for snack and burritos any time. They have baby burritos too. Yum!

I have to admit I've only had the birria, but it's the best I've had in the city. Good michelada as well. Super quick service. In the 4 months I've worked near by, I've been 15 times. Hasnt disappointed once!
