Mala Town

I've been here multiple times already and Mala Town never fails. I have always gotten the Sukiyaki soup base since I have a sweet tooth and am not really fond of spicy dishes / szechuan sauce. In all of my experiences, they were all soooo good. I usually spend around 30-35 usd and I usually have half the dish taken home, so you really pay a good price for what you get. When to come: I recommend a weekday because on weekends, the line is quite long. You do have the option to go visit Daiso while waiting and that might keep you busy... but if you're really hungry, this place might get you as the wait can be a little long.The vibe of the place is very family friendly and they like playing kpop music. Great place to celebrate a birthday, special event, or even just to have a good customized hotpot experience.

We ate here on a Monday night, with stepdaughter and my husband. We order the spicy broth, beef broth, and the sukiyaki.. when we receive the spicy broth(remember lots of spice inside). The soup was different... and little vinegar.... We both end up, not finishing the food and we took a rest to go.... Before our ride home, my husband was already throwing up and sweaty.... Once he walked the house, he threw up five times..... We are definitely not ever coming back again.After one week of healing , we confirm of food poisoning! To be very fair, we can't seems to get over the hot pot in my head.

A little bit confusing of the waiting since everyone input on tablet but then I saw someone who came after me got seated first with the same amount of people, I was about to say something then 5 mins later we were called, so I justdropped it. Selection of food was good, both adult and kids got what we wanted. Soup on the other hand was so so. All toward spicy and if not spicy its a bit too sweet. Self serve Sauce bar and water station is good.Seating space is adequate to keep lines moving.

This lives up to my mark. Having plenty of ingredients to choose from, ranging from land protein and sea protein, I would totally bring my coworkers here.Service is self-service, you grab your ingredients, weigh and pay, then grab your drinks and sauces. The cooked food and requested base is then brought to you momentarily.Ambiance is lovely, everyone is trying to have a good time but I sat next to a very young crowd gossiping and it is very fun to hear them talk and as they vent about their issues xD.I've been here multiple times and it doesn't disappoint (except removing Tom yum broth, pls bring it back)

Exceeded my expectations!!!I saw this place on tiktok, so I went to try it out with friends. I got the hot base, and it was just the perfect amount of spice! Sooo many ingredients, making it easy to make your bowl full.Parking was quite hard when I went, but the area is big.MUST TRY!!!

Parking lot is quite full on the weekends! Food was good. More of a build your soup bowl than a hotpot place. Selection wasn't bad. Frozen udon will definitely put weight. Fill up on the meat ;) Waitlist in the evening went by pretty fast ~15 minutes. Service was friendly. Water has lemon Jasmine iced tea had a hint of sweetness which I loved Thanks!

Restaurant is located in Daiso and Marina plaza, and it tends to get packed with parking depending on time of day. This Malatang joint is fairly spacious. The self serve bar is also fairly clean compared to other places. So far this is my favorite spot for the dry Malatang flavors and my husband thinks it's the best for the beef soup. They recently opened in Milpitas too, so I'll have to start going there too. Good food, would come again, would recommendService - 4 / Ambiance - 4 / Food - 5 / Price - 4

My friend and I were craving hot pot, so we decided to check out Mala Town. As soon as you walk in, you grab a bowl and tongs to pick out the ingredients you want for your hot pot. Once you've chosen your ingredients, you head to the cashier to select your broth. I went with the tomato broth. Afterward, they assign you a table based on your party size.One of the highlights for me was the seasoning and sauce bar, where you can mix your own flavors. When our hot pot arrived, I really enjoyed the food. The system they have in place is organized and efficient. If you go, make sure to ask for their chili sauce. It's a must-have to elevate the flavors!

Mala Town in Union City is a unique hot pot experience--think Chipotle, but for hot pot lovers! You get to pick your own ingredients, which makes it fun and customizable. The meat was impressively fresh and definitely a highlight of the meal.On the downside, the noodles were overcooked, and the broth was a bit too salty for my taste. However, the overall concept and quality ingredients make it a place worth visiting. The service was alright - there isn't much of an interaction since you pick the food into your bowl. And the vibe was very open with lots of customers. Worth a visit if you're in the mood for hot pot with a twist.

BRING BACK TOM YUM SOUP BROTH. As frequenters who actually completed 3 loyalty cards between 2 people we ask nicely please, bring back tom yum soup. The new sukiyaki broth that replaced it is too sweet and the sweet and sour tomato broth gave me a horrible acid reflux. After they removed tom yum we tried it a couple more times but even the variety of the ingredients decreased. Sadly, we won't be coming back anytime soon. Maybe maybe maybe
