Came here for my birthday dinner because of its location and a friend recommended it, even though I was slightly hesitant because of some mixed reviews. It exceeded all expectations! My boyfriend and I have been trying a lot of different tasting/set menus, many bougee and pricey. We got the menu du jour (5 courses for $60, not including wine pairing) and it felt like a steal. Everything was delicious. I started with the Mussels Casino which was delicious. SO enjoyed the frites--he had to, he only got 3! Next up, the escarole salad was good but the potato and leek soup was a standout IMO--great flavor, rich but not overwhelming. For our mains, I loved the slow-cooked short rib though it was a tad fatty. SO devoured his 16oz 30-day dry-aged wagyu cote de boeuf (at an extra $58, it was almost 2x the cost of the set menu!)For dessert, I loved my bergamot and meyer lemon pavlova, and he liked his mont blanc (I think he was still overwhelmed from the steak.) They gave me a birthday dessert as well and some extra dessert bites as well. Everything was well-done.Inside, the lighting is dim. It wasn't that full on a Monday night, and service was very attentive but it seemed like they needed more to do.Will be back with a large group--we were eyeing the one large table upstairs. Will also be back for their takeout smash burger or fried fish sandwich--they sound so good. Additionally, will be back to try their menu deluxe ($100 10-course tasting menu, without wine pairing.) Lord Stanley has gained some fans and evangelists!

Made reservations for 5 at 5:30pm on a Saturday. Upon arrival we were seated promptly, restaurant had one other party but was otherwise pretty open. As the evening progress more parties arrived so walk in might be feasible but probably best to make a reservation. Drinks: Brought a standard bottle of wine which they open and decanted for us, there is a $40 per bottle corkage fee FYIFood: Gougeres - this were a great start to the meal, light airy and crisp filled with a creamy savory parmesan Mornay sauce, came with two pieces which made it easy to share Potatoes Dauphine - delicious, served hot with a lovely crispy exterior, layers of soft potato interior, topped with salmon roe and creamChicory salad - a nice portion, well dressed, not too bitter, great combination of textures and flavors, the citrus added brightness and the pistachios provided a lovely crunch Butternut squash soup - super smooth and velvety with a great sweet savory balance, the flavor of the butternut squash really shine simple but we'll executedDuck casserole - a generous portion, duck skin was crisp and, well renders, meat was succulent and tender, white beans were creamy and braised with bacon so had a nice smoky flavor, ate a little bit salty Lemon apple poppy seed cake - this was okay, served warm, a little bit dense and wet in texture, good flavor but wish it was a little lighter Black forest sundae - this was also okay, a very rich chocolate sorbet, topped with cherries, and candied almonds, liked the textures but a bit too rich for my taste Service was excellent, super warm and welcoming. Staff is knowledgeable about the menu, and provided great detail about each dish on the menu and expertly deboned the sole table side. Overall enjoyed dinner at Lord Stanley an excellent value and great portions, all the savories on the menu were fantastic and expertly prepared. Desserts weren't personally my favorite but still thinking this spot is well worth a visit!

I can't say enough good things about this spot for takeout! Honestly, I haven't even dined in yet, and I'm already hooked. The fries are excellent--they arrive warm, but even when they cool down, they're still so good. The fried chicken sandwich was my absolute favorite, but sadly, it hasn't been on the menu recently. That said, the Smash Burger is just as amazing, especially for takeout. Perfectly cooked, flavorful, and always hits the spot. Highly recommend giving them a try!

First time dining at Lord Stanley! This is a really small and cozy restaurant. Came with a large group so we were split into different tables.Service was excellent. From the start until the very end of dinner service, staff was attentive and made sure to explain each course fully. They also provided instructions on how to eat some of the courses which was helpful. Food was excellent. There were definitely favorites (hamachi, noodles, and spiced bread + ganache) and not-so-favorites (duck with madeira jus). I thought the courses were well thought out and was really a feast for the senses. For anyone that's hesitant in going to a course dinner, I think Lord Stanley makes the experience very approachable and welcoming.

I recently learned about the 10 course, tasting menu for $100 with additional supplement from Charlene Louie's IG (charweezy) & was excited to try it. Reservations were easy to make via their website & we opted for their first seating at 5:30. I would recommend reservations as the dining room is not very large but there is an upper level for private parties, accessible by stairs. They offer the 10 course menu for $100 with caviar supplement for $26 and also offer a wine pairing for each course or 5 courses for $60 with wine pairing. We both opted for the 10 course tasting menu with caviar supplement. The amouse bouche was Pommes dauphine, cultured cream & salmon roe, a delicate & beautiful presentation. It was the perfect bite & we were excited for the rest of our tasting menu. Everything was delicious & beautifully presented but our favorites were the amouse bouche, caviar & black cod. Desserts were 3 courses & I loved the light & delicate fig leaf cremeaux & canneles are one of my favorites. Outstanding service from our server Anya (Anja?), manager Alex and team Lord Stanley. What an amazing experience for a great price!

The Hubby booked reservations at the infamous fried chicken place that had a 10 k waitlist . This place is based in New York so when hubby heard they were having a pop up in SF, he booked right away . HELLS YES. Had a reservation at 6 pm on Tuesday . When we got there it wasn't too busy . We got seated right away & knew exactly what we wanted to order. We started off with 2 orders of the gem salad : It had buttermilk , green garlic dressing and sprinkles of furikake. This salad was oh so amazing and had an explosion of umami flavor and that dressing was so unique and it went really well with all the other dishes. So glad we got 2 orders of this. I was impressed that each leaf was coated with the dressing . 5/5Salted egg chicken : I love salted egg yolk flavor . I've had it before with crab & chips .. I was so excited to see this on the menu . The flavor combo worked really well and the chicken tender was juicy and was coated with the salted egg yolk. It was rich , buttery and creamy and the caviar on top was delectable. I actually enjoyed this a lot more than the chili fried chicken. MUST GET. super unique dish 5/5 Pecking house classic sando : I've had many fried chicken sandwiches and I must say this was probably on my top 5 .. The brioche bun was incredibly soft , the chicken was so crunchy & moist inside . You get the sweetness from the grilled onions and the tanginess from the soy pickles. The execution for this sandwich was top notch 5/5 We got all these 3 dishes together and wow was it amazing together. I think these 3 items would've left me satiated and happy . I was pretty full but we still had to try the rest of the menu..Chili fried chicken : Okay... I was super excited about trying this chicken. This was the reason why we went. Loved that the skin was super crunchy , hot & fresh. Likesomeone had mentioned before the best way to describe the flavor was a hotpot fried chicken . You had spices of Sichuan and Tianjin coated on the chicken. I liked it but for me the salted egg yolk was moremy cup of tea. I'm a fan of spicy fried chicken so probably the fact it wasn't that spicy was the missing element for the wow factor. 4/5 Mashed potatoes with chicken heart gravy:Standard mashed potatoes and gravy . I thought it was heavy since we ate fried chicken & was stuffed . ( I think I would've just ordered another salad since the salad was a great addition for the different flavor profiles & was light & refreshing. 3/5Overall , I was very impressed by the first3 dishes we ordered . I was mind blown with how all the flavors meddled together . Definitely need to check this place out while they're here . I believe the popup ends on the 31st . They also have a to go option which is super convenient . My heart & tummy is content.

Had a fantastic celebratory dinner with my husband last week at Lord Stanley. The service was amazing. The space is open and inviting with warm lighting and wooden accents. We opted for the five course tasting menu and everything was delicious. It ended up being too much food for us as we chose the Wagyu and the Petrale sole for our main courses, which were very large portions. They were kind enough to pack up what was left of our mains as well as our desserts, which we enjoyed later at home.

The only place different social types can genuinely get along with each other is in heaven, and the fried chicken w/gravy I ordered for delivery from Lord Stanley, was a slice of Heaven. I skipped the gravy even though I know it's trendy, because even with a fast metabolism, I'm counting calories. Yikes! But nonetheless, as you can see I finished half the chicken before I realized it. Would I order it again? Most definitely.

So we brought my dad to Lord Stanley to try Pecking House and we LOVED it. I'm so happy to finally try their chili fried chicken!! We did family style. And I had to try to explain to my dad the concept of turntable residency so he understood Pecking House was only there for the rest of this month! :) As he wanted to see if he could come back with my sister! LOLLet me start by saying I love the concept and I love the location. I was worried about parking so I reserved a spot at a lot off Sacramento and Polk - so it was easy peasy. Got to have a nice leisurely walk on Polk from Sacramento to Broadway - I haven't been in this area for YEARS, no DECADES and was impressed. Anyway - got to the restaurant - got seated right away.We knew what we wanted - family style so we could all try a little of everything. It was more than enough food and unfortunately we were so stuffed we didn't order the coconut rice pudding... sadness...We first got the most AMAZING Gem Salad with Buttermilk! MY OH MY.... I know think we should have gotten TWO. They actually will put a bit of that delicious flavorful buttermilk dressing within each of the GEM lettuce leaves!! It's not just poured on top... We cut it up and DEVOURED it... It was fresh, light and crisp! That dressing though - if they had a bottle of that I would definitely get it! Even my dad was going for 2nds on that one!! (Note - Dad is a pretty light eater and even he raved about the salad). We then got the STAR of the meal - the chili fried chicken! At first glance you panic a bit - it's so RED - will it be too spicy?? Heck NO! It has just the right amount of heat - where it's in the back of your throat, lingers a bit but had a hint of sweetness. AND the skin was CRISPY and crunchy with TONS of flavor with the super tender chicken. It was tender for both the white and the dark! Hubby loves white and he commented on the tenderness of the white meat! But that SAUCE! Where I just had the meat - I'd swipe it on the plate for the sauce!! PERFECT amount of heat and sweet!! Again - Dad even went for seconds!! Great sign!We then got the salted egg chicken that came with a topping of tsar nicoulai caviar. I don't know if it's good to have this AFTER the chili fried chicken cause it felt a bit underwhelming compared - and this particular caviar was a bit on the small and salty side which the chicken needed. I could barely taste the salted egg - but again - I think it's cause we had the chili fried chicken first. Still tasty but definitely not a go to for us.We also got the mashed potatoes which comes with a chicken heart gravy!! It was creamy and delicious. Could've used more gravy. Saw another table ask for extra gravy - we should've done that - it was SO GOOD. Perfect accompaniment for our meal. And Dad loved it so much he finished up the bowl! :)We then got the Pecking House Classic Sando. It was delicious especially when you eat it with the pickle. Crunchy and tender with lots of flavor. I'd actually like it without the bread so I could enjoy the chicken, sauce and pickles! :)THE OTHER STAR of the meal was that AMAZING Chives and Cheddar Biscuits. If we weren't stuffed I would have ordered a 2nd order. One order comes with two - and we cut both in half to share among 3 of us so there was one half left. Even though he was stuffed it was easy to convince my dad to finish up the last half! LOL... it had LAYERS of soft flavor AND the outside had the perfect crunch! EXCELLENT and HIGHLY recommend - but everyone should get their own biscuit! :)Oh and service was great! Though all the food came out pretty fast and it did take time to cut up the chicken and split everything. They kept the water flowing and overall it was great service, atmosphere and DELICIOUS FOOD! When we go to NY - we're heading over to Pecking House for their Chili Fried Chicken, mashed potatoes, biscuits and gem salad FOR SURE and hopefully I'll get to try their coconut rice pudding!!What fun and a GREAT experience!!

In case you weren't aware, the little takeout window on the side of the restaurant "Turntable" is constantly rotating through various menus and pop-ups, so the food you see photos and reviews for here may not able available when you go. If you happen to be there when they are serving Peking House, then consider yourself lucky and get some fried chicken ASAP. I absolutely love chili oil and consider myself a connoisseur of it. I have a giant jar at home that I put on so many different dishes. I had never thought until now that you could combine it into a crispy friend chicken. There's so much friend chicken in the SF but this is one is truly something unique that you must try if you like chili oil as much as I do.
