Met a friend here for lunch after I saw that they serve reasonably priced plates for lunch. Our original plan was to eat at Cafe Barrone next door, but their line and high prices ($20 for a sandwich?!) deterred me. Also, the fact that Little Sky had indoor seating and heat on was a plus. I ordered a plate lunch with the fried chicken and sides of Brussels sprouts, roasted potatoes, and mixed greens. Originally, I wanted the white rice instead of the mixed greens, but they were out that day which was disappointing. The chicken was extremely dry and tasteless and the breading fell off. It needed some sort of sauce and seasoning. The Brussels were okay but needed seasoning of some sort. The mixed greens were topped with some balsamic dressing. Only the roasted potatoes had been seasoned with some salt and pepper. My lunch felt decently healthy and filling and was very reasonably priced at $12 + tax, but it just wasn't that tasty. I did like the sample of lemon ricotta bread they gave us and would like to buy one of those in the future. Or I will get a mando with a side next time. Or a different protein (my friend's fried tofu looked better than my fried chicken). Service was friendly at the counter and the food arrived pretty quickly.

Came to try their pastries. Their original chocolate chip was good, so I bought more to share with friends. It's a chunky, chewy cookie with walnuts and dried apricots. The outdoor seating area is cute! Not sure how often their small pop up store is open, but we saw it across the street in front of Philz coffee. They had a lot more pastry offerings, esp challah bread. I got the pistachio challah bread. It was good but $6 for one roll and a little pistachio stuffing is a bit steep.I'd recommend sticking with the cookie!

Their chocolate chip cookie with the walnuts and the apricots is the best cookie I've ever had in my life. Just knowing that cookie exists makes me think the world is OK. All their pastries are incredible and DENSE. They are not short changing on ingredients. I also like their tofu/shiitake mando. That being said - I worry a bit about their business model. They still have the tent across the street so they're sort of competing against themselves. They should utilize both counters and have everything in one place.

The brunch culture is cray. Waiting 1-2+ hours to pay $20+ for eggs, bacon, and toast is not my jam. If you see a mob of brunch goers outside Café Borrone and don't want to wait...Little Sky Kitchen!(They're hidden to the left of it.)Sure, it's not brunch fare but when you're hangry and can't wait any longer, why not support another local small business for sustenance? An offshoot of Little Sky Bakery, Little Sky Kitchen is churning out an eclectic mix of French, Italian, and Northern Chinese savory goods. The owner started selling her scratch made baked goods in 2018 in Farmers Markets. Since then, she's opened a brick & mortar location just across the street on Santa Cruz Avenue and has a stall at State Street Market (food hall) in Los Altos. Open for takeout and dine-in. We were headed to Stanford Shopping Center so stopped by for a snack. There was no line and it was empty the entire time we were there (Sunday 10 am - 10:30 am). Good option for a quiet meal. M E N UChinese Baos and Mando, Italian Pano (pizza), Sandwiches, and Entrees (already prepared): rotisserie chicken, schnitzel, beef bourguignon, braised pork belly and Sides: potatoes, rice, grilled veggies. For non-savory, they had muffins, scones, cookies, and cake slices. Drinks: Hot tea and coffee. Most items were kept in the cold case and can be warmed up upon request. Steep pricing but it's Menlo Park. F O O D* Shrimp & Pork Mando ($7.50) // 4 stars: https://tinyurl.com/k44h8bnf--Requested to heat it upBest described as a large, flattened Sheng Jian Bao, pan-fried pork bun without the soup. Crispy on the outside with a savory pork, shrimp, and chive filling. The middle was quite doughy tho. * House-cured Lox Sandwich ($16) // 3.75 stars: https://tinyurl.com/2ue5f7j8Good quality ingredients, silky smooth lox that wasn't too salty with a delicious chive (?) cream cheese and refreshing cucumbers. Because it's kept in the cold case, the seeded baguette was too tough and chewy to enjoy (at 10 am opening time). We had to deconstruct the sandwich to eat it. Had it been assembled to order, it would probably be 5 stars. S E R V I C EWarm, welcoming service. There's only one staff FOH and one baker. A M B I A N C EQuaint and cozy with two tables inside and little nook seating area. There's seven tables outside in the covered patio adorned with lanterns: https://tinyurl.com/26xncrcyP A R K I N GUnderground parking garage. Overall, Little Sky Kitchen is good option for grab 'n go meals. When I'm craving Northern Chinese Baos when headed to Stanford Shopping Center, I now know where to go!

Little Sky is one of my favorite bakeries so I've been eagerly awaiting the kitchen across the street! I've visited a couple of times now and can confirm the high quality has been maintained! The combo is a great deal and provides plenty of food. My personal favorite meal is the croque monsieur which is amazingly cheesy and not too decadent. The workers are so nice and there are often samples of the baked goods to try! Seating is limited so this is better for takeaway or small groups.

Little Sky Kitchen is a great new add to the downtown Menlo Park area! They have the same yummy pastries you may know from the little sky bakery tent across the street. They have a mix of savory foods and sweet pastries that provides many options to choose from. As of June 1, 2024 they only offer teas and instant coffee with sugar and milk in the way of drinks, but I'd love to see this expanded to a more full cafe menu as they settle into the larger space. This is fine for me given I enjoy hopping to different cafes in Menlo Park if I want a specific iced coffee or something. Staff were very kind and offered free samples of different foods. The seating area is a bit basic, but definitely vibey. At least while it's new, it's quiet and not crowded but I could definitely see this change! Overall I'll definitely be back to sample more of their delicious foods and enjoy the vibes :)

Did you know that Little Sky Bakery has opened Little Sky Kitchen, an adorable little cafe just steps from Cafe Borrone, on the north side of the building? Little Sky Kitchen offers some of the smaller baked goods from Little Sky Bakery, like scones, muffins, giant cookies, cake slices, and breakfast bars, but also offers breakfast sandwiches, sandwiches, flatbread, mandos, bao, bing, and prepared lunch/dinner options to grab and go like fried chicken, salad, and roasted veg.I wanted a breakfast sammie and asked for them to hold the bacon and add another egg, which they were happy to do. It was delicious. The coffee situation is minimalistic with their humorously named "non-artisanal coffee," but Philz is across the street if you need something more substantial. I took home a breakfast bar, which is basically a delicious, healthy brick that I can snack on for days.I highly recommend this cute, cozy, tasty spot with great options and outdoor patio space! Gotta support our local small businesses.

A really pleasant surprise for brunch on a beautiful autumn morning. The roasted carrots were a memorable treat. And the shrimp/pork Mando, familiar for me from the bakery across the street, was top-notch as usual. I will be back for both menu selections. The tables outside are very well arranged with overhead space heaters. Service was good. A perfect way to start your day in Menlo Park! Great idea to have the restaurant here, Tien!
