La Societe is a hidden gem that is tucked in the Hyatt Regency in downtown San Francisco. My recent dinner at La Societe was my most enjoyable French meal in the city in a while. We came on a Saturday night with a reservation thinking it would be busy, but to our surprise was quite the opposite.French cuisine is often viewed as haute cuisine. Although, something about the cooking at La Societe appeared both luxurious yet familiar. The technique, presentation, and depth of flavors and textures of each dish was a gastronomic experience. All six dishes we ordered were amazing. We also appreciated our waiter Roger, who was very personable, accommodating, and attentive throughout our entire meal. For the quality and quantity of the dishes, La Societe is worth paying for. Whether it be a celebration for a special occasion or just a meal you want to treat yourself to, La Societe is the perfect place.

Good breakfast spot--not fancy and not ideal for business meetings because it's too noisy. But it will definitely fuel you for the day. The ingredients are fresh! In addition to salmon, they also serve tuna, which is great. Pastries are standard. Eggs are offered in various styles, and the fruit selection is good. So, if you need a solid breakfast to start your day, go for it.

I stayed at the Hyatt Regency SOMA in downtown San Francisco for a work trip and went down for a quick, no-fuss dinner. I ordered a chicken sandwich and a glass of wine, but the sandwich was way too complicated -loaded with spinach, portobello mushrooms, and Lots of cheese, making it overly greasy. Not what I was craving. On the bright side, the French fries were amazing- I finished every last one. The wine selection was also solid and the service was excellent!

7/24/2024French flair here in San Francisco. My friend and I stopped by for cocktails and small bites. Location: directly adjacent to the lobby of Hyatt Regency Downtown Soma. Do not mix up the location with the Hyatt Regency at Embarcadero Center. Arrival: we stepped foot inside shortly after 5pm to a nearly empty restaurant. We liked the idea of having the space all to ourselves. A friendly host brought us to a corner table, followed by a young but attentive server. A sweep of patrons shortly after did bring in some hustle and bustle. Decor: I felt as if I was in the South of France. Large windows covered in white shutters align the back wall, but still manages to bring in light. Set against the windows are green velvet tuft seating with marble tables. Gold pendant lamps are hung in the ceiling, and on the opposite wall is a row of faux manicured greenery. A glass wall adorned with French wording close out the space. There is also a bar directly outside the restaurant if one would like happy hour, or what is known here as The Aperol Hour. I am impressed with the design as not only is it inviting but also chic. Bon-appetite:Classic deviled eggs - the yolky creamy morsel egg bite was divine. Dutch crunch gougeres - these weren't as crunchy as we had hoped, but it had a nice cheese flavor. Baguette service with raclette fondue - the warm French bread paired with creamy cheese fondue and apricot preserves was the highlight of the meal. We devoured every last bite of the dish. We did ask for extra baguette. Duck fat fries - Europeans sure love fried potatoes and these did not disappoint. Crunchy and garlicky. Of the two included dips - ketchup and mustard aioli, the aioli was the most dipped. We even dipped our warm baguette into the mustard aioli and it tasted heavenly. For our cocktails - Cocktail de whisky, Fleur de Lys, Severine, and Lemon Drop. I won't lie - these were strong drinks, but in a very good way. Final Thoughts:While prices are on the higher end, it is San Francisco after all, and this is indeed a quality restaurant. We'll stop by for The Aperol Hour on our return visit.

Lovely place for dinner. The mussels and frites were fantastic and the bartender was great. I'd come again if I'm in the area.

The food was delicious, the ambiance was great, and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience! The service was excellent as well. I loved the cheesecake; it had a rich coffee flavor that was mild and creamy, and the texture was fantastic. My friend preferred the crème brûlée even more.

I had club lounge access at the attached Hyatt Regency and it included a full voucher for the breakfast buffet (available to be purchased separately).Overall pretty tasty stuff! My most favorite thing that I had was the pain au chocolat (chocolate croissant). Was just like something you'd find at a good patisserie; nice crispiness (not stale!) with a rich dark chocolate shaving in the center, yum. The hash browns were perfectly light and crispy. Flavorful chicken sausage. On the flip side, the spicy lamb in a blanket was a little dry and the European soft scramble was a bit of a letdown as it was less silky than anticipated.Service could've been better. Although most of the staff was really polite, there was one particular male who was a little *too* socially jumpy.....Don't get me wrong, I didn't expect staff to be overly posh here, but he was very chatty at the restaurant and became agitated when I didn't promptly tell him which plates needed to be cleared from the table. He stood out from the rest of the crew, basically, and not in a great way.Breakfast buffet without Hyatt Regency club lounge access is $39 per person, sooo do I think it's worth that price? Ehh, based on my visit here, price is maybe a tad too high. If you're still curious about the offerings though (whole breakfast buffet menu list is on the website!) than I'd say go for it.

Beautiful place and lovely service. William was great! Especially appreciated that he offered to take our photo before we had to struggle with selfies, and introduced himself so pleasantly. Food was delicious with wonderful selection! My friend paid with her corporate expense account so I'm grateful for that. It's a luxurious (but expensive) way to start your day!

This was a delightful find near Moscone Center. As far as restaurants in hotels go, I wouldn't have been disappointed if I was staying there and this was the only place to eat. Hello room service!Food was very good. We had the French onion soup, salads, the burger, hand cut tagliatelle (this was a little salty) and the chicken. There were no leftovers. Presentation was lovely and the service was excellent. I will totally put this on rotation. Bonus, $15 parking with validation if you happen to drive.
