Kushi Tsuru

Food - ordered ramen and it was good. I like the noodles and the broth. I also like the way they have a combo with chicken karaage over rice! Good price too!Service - fast. They give you a laminated order menu like in dimsum so you can just mark what u want. They clean ur table right away but tells you to take your time too. They don't accept old bills. Ambiance - casual, good for friends and family. Clean.Overall, i enjoyed food there. :)

This spot is in the row of restaurants in japantown mall. I've walked by and wanted to try it so many times because they had the typical Japanese thing of having models of all their menu items on display on the window as you walk by. The menu variety is kind of insane--there are the meat options, the fried katsus, the ramens, the udons and sobas, the sushi, the whole works. The service was super quick and the food also came out really quickly, which is what we needed. Would recommend if you have a large variety of tastes to cater to in your group and want a quick bite in the japantown area. Out of everything we ordered, we all kind of came to the conclusion that their sushi was just alright. The fish wasn't super fresh and the textures were all weird. (Espcially with items that had tuna).The zaru udon was solid. I think for the same price as udon mugizo which is just right around the corner, the quality is a bit lacking. They barely gave any dipping tsuyu and they also gave less noodles.

We visited Kushi Tsuru while we were shopping at the Japantown mall. It's my boyfriend favorite childhood restaurant. The location is great with easy parking and an elevator. It also has clean public restrooms. I really enjoyed the music in the restaurant, which added a nice vibe to the experience. Peak mid-2010s music. The customer service was good. We ordered tempura udon and the spicy ramen. They gave us complimentary miso soup. It was a perfect warm-up to our meal. The tempura was tasty, but the udon noodles and broth were just okay. As for the ramen, the broth lacked flavor, and the noodles and egg were overcooked. We did enjoy the Charshu and corn.There was a lot of food, but considering the quality, I felt it was a bit on the expensive side. I'd probably come back if there wasn't a long line, and if other places had a long wait. It's not a place I'd return to otherwise.

We came here in a pinch to order an Avocado Roll for my daughter since the Market had sold out. Overall the service was attentive and kind. Our order was to go as we were meeting the rest of my family at the tables by the fountain. The location is small, but beautifully decorated. I was surprised that the Avocado Roll was 11.99 as I am used to it not being more than 7. I was disappointed when we got the roll and each piece was so small. The roll had 8 pieces, but imagine the rolls with the very small sushi bites. For the price I was definitely expecting more than what we got. We were grateful that they did to-go orders but for the price and quality I don't know if I would go back.

My fiancé and I walked into this place on a Sunday afternoon and it was delicious! We got the bento box and spicy ramen. The decor inside was also really cute, service was great! Id come back!

I ordered the beef curry udon, and while it did satisfy my curry craving, there were a few things that could have been improved. The curry itself was thick and flavorful, which I enjoyed, and the potatoes and carrots were cooked to the perfect softness (a plus for me). However, I was hoping for more beef and potatoes in the dish. Unfortunately, about half the bowl was filled with carrots, which felt a bit unbalanced.The biggest letdown was the beef--it was dry and had a texture that reminded me of beef jerky, which didn't really work with the dish.I also tried their sake bomb, but the house sake that came with it wasn't great either.On the bright side, the service was quick and attentive, which I appreciated. No complaints there.Overall, a decent experience, but I'm not sure if I'd rush back.

3.5 but I bumped it up for great smiling service. It goes a long way when I feel welcomed like a guest. Dinner has combo for 3 items 29.99. I got all the meat: chicken teriyaki (nicely seasoned not slathered with sauce), chicken katsu and tonkatsu (crunchy but not oily). You kind of can't tell which is which. The dipping sauce was good. Salad was not overly dressed. I got to take home for lunch tomorrow. Actually they do deserve 4 stars! Good atmosphere to talk, i actually get to visit and hear conversations.

Fast and friendly service. Had the lunch bento box with vegetable tempura, salmon teriyaki, salad, rice, and soup. It came out very fast and service was super prompt. Food was on point and hit the spot.

Unfortunately, Marafuku and Udon Munoz had long waits. So decided to try Kushi Tsuru.The restaurant was fairly crowded but no wait on a Wednesday night around 7:15 pm.The service was very slow as they only had 1 staff taking and giving orders.The tempura came out first and it was very oily and the rice was mushy. My spicy ramen didn't come out for another 10 minutes. This was just red and was not really spicy. Decent amount of noodles at least. Will not be back. Prices about $20 per dish

8.5/10 first time here. The wait time for both the seating and food was a turn-off but the food made up for it. The tempura is really crispy which i enjoy, soup didn't have much flavor but still good and was warming me up for the cold outside. Salmon sashimi was fresh, makes me want to try the sushi next time. Overall a decent place for Japanese food :)
