Kui Shin Bo

Great lunch menu deal that's also available on the weekend. The place is popular but there's lot of seating so you usually won't wait. Among three friends we tried the tonkatsu, tempura, agedashi tofu, and avoyaku roll. You cant go wrong with getting the tonkatsu as part of your lunch menu.

The food is so delicious and the service was nice! I got the Black Garlic ramen (spicy level 2 had a perfect comfortable kick to it). My partner got the Saki Donburi and says it was fresh and creamy. We shared a Takoyaki.I wish we took a picture of the before, but here's a picture of the after. Proof that we killed it - from someone who notoriously never finishes her ramen bowls

Recommend by a friend and would say that it's a good solid 3.5 stars, not too shabby but also not exceptional:) if you are looking for Japanese comfort food, then you may be in for a treat!We order the chicken skewers, grilled squid and an okonomiyaki and we're very full after our visit The chicken skewers were solid, had a nice char to them, very tender!Unfortunately I was disappointed by the whole squid, wish they were grilled more and came out smokier. Not worth the price. We also got the beef and cheese okonomiyaki! One of the more unique dishes. Had lots of cabbage in it but doesn't feel like you are eating vegetables. A very hardy and healthy-ish dish that won't leave you hungry!

A friend wanted sushi for dinner so I was looking on yelp to find a place, so happy I decided on Kui Shin Bo! Located in the east Japantown mall, it's not as busy since most of the restaurants are in the other mall. It's upstairs, very unassuming and tucked in a corner. The menu is pretty extensive and has most of the typical Japanese dishes. My friend ordered 2 rolls and I had the Chicken curry Katsu. The service was amazing, they kept refilling our water when we ran out. It seemed like a small family owned place and the ambience was intimate anOverall, this will probably be my new go-to spot when friends want Japanese food in our neighborhood!

Lowkey restaurant in Japantown mall with a cozy ambiance. The dishes are big and yummy! We got chicken katsu curry which was amazing! They have a lunch special which comes with salad and miso soup. The staff was super nice and welcoming.

I got the dinner set: udon and katsu. I wish the udon portion was bigger since they take away the rice, salad, and miso soup as a result. The katsu was great but the udon wasn't my favorite.The place seems a bit old but it's relatively spacious, and you get seated quickly as a result. Food also comes out super fast!

This is a nice little restaurant located. In Japan Town. My friends and I were looking for a simple lunch in the area that wouldn't break the bank and ended up here. The staff is very nice! We showed up a bit earlier before lunch on a weekday and the restaurant was pretty much empty. I ordered the baked salmon sushi roll, my friends ordered a miso ramen and the two set meal. Our meal was decent and we were all full and had leftovers to bring home! I felt that the baked salmon was alright, I've certainly had better - bur notably, it was filling and reasonably priced. The two set meal seemed to be the best out of all three options especially for the pricing. Overall this restaurant was decent especially for the prices but it wasn't very memorable in taste.

I always love coming to this place. Food is fresh, authentic and delicious.Any time in in the city it means ill be eating here

When trying to eat here, consider that there might be a long wait depending on when you go. The place is small, so it's hard to fit a party more than 5 people. However, this restaurant is located in Japantown, so there's plenty to do and stores to go around. They have a yelp waitlist, so it's easy to track where you are in the list.The service was great once we were seated, our food came fast so I felt like I wasn't waiting too long. The portions were good, but I wish the additional roll that was given could've been a speciality roll because I don't really like "California rolls". My dad got the unagi plate and that looked delicious, so I need to go back and try their popular dishes to gauge out the place better.

A cute simple place tucked away on the road less traveled (in other words, the east side of the Japantown Mall)! They had a $16 dinner set where you can choose two mains to have alongside rice, miso soup, and salad. I got the pork katsu and curry rice, the latter of which is supposed to be a top favorite. The katsu was a good size and well-fried. The curry felt very homemade, but lacked flavor (had to add some katsu sauce to boost it up a bit). The staff was very friendly!
