Cute little hole in the wall Japanese bento place in SF in a residential neighborhood. Parking can be a challenge so give yourself enough time if driving. The bento boxes are so cute and the fish is really fresh. I didn't find the slices to be too thin and the truffle seasoning was deliciously savory with fluffy white rice. Service was easy as you order on a screen. There are two high top tables on the side for seating so most people just get take out. The strawberry matcha was really tasty and fresh. Would come back just for this. Nice new spot in SF!

Fresh salmon bento boxes at a reasonable price! I loved the truffle soy sauce that they marinated / drizzled the salmon in. I also enjoyed the ikura as well. The side dishes (bean sprouts, potato salad) were just ok. Took off one star because I felt like the salmon was very thinly sliced and the overall proportion of salmon to rice/side dishes were off. The restaurant was mainly takeout orders with very limited seating. It was super busy although it was close to closing, with many customers crowding around the register waiting for their food. We had to squeeze our way to the front to ask them directly if our food was ready as the website we ordered off of did not update. Matcha with cheese foam was 10/10. I could really taste the matcha! Both the sweet+saltiness of the cheese foam paired well with the slight umami flavor of the matcha.

This is hands down the BEST matcha place I've tried so far in the states. It is located in a very small and cramped storefront so be prepared to wait in long lines! For two drinks and a bento box, it took us 40 mins to receive everything :( but the quality is so good that I'm overlooking the wait time. The workers were working relentlessly, I think they just need a bigger storefront and prob even more workers at this point. The matches came out first and oh my god!!! Seeing a bunch of marukyu koyamaen tins was my first indicator that I was gonna be blown away by the matcha quality. The green color is so vibrant. My friend's strawberry matcha was def on the sweeter side but my red bean mochi matcha is the perfect balance between umami and sweet. I love the different textures of the red bean and the silkiness of the mochi. I've never had this combination before so now I will always dream about this drink as I don't live in SF.The bento boxes def took longer and I think we can skip it next time if we just want to go right away but it's still pretty good! The salmon and ikura bento box is well balanced and I love the sides of both. The rice was a bit dry for both but it's okay, we dont eat rich as much since it fills us up faster. I used the wasabi from the salmon bento to put on the duck breast and it was a really good pairing. Def will recommend to friends who visit the area and will always be thinking about the drink I ordered. Only knocking down a star for the wait.

If you're looking for something to take on a picnic, Komeya is the place to go! They have a variety of bento boxes and matcha drinks to choose from. I ordered the truffle salmon bento box and it was delicious. The truffle really stood out, the salmon was fresh and the side dishes included were also very tasty. There was a lot of rice on the bottom. I wish there was more fish but overall it was really good.

Waited about an hour... but was it worth it? I would personally say yes, but we would not wait an hour for this again. It was good to try one time, except the bento boxes did not WOW us (only its appearance did). We ordered a mango matcha and red bean mochi matcha, which we received fairly quickly. They were so delicious and honestly the highlight! The quality was amazing since they use ceremonial grade marukyu koyamaen matcha powder. The mango was my favorite; it was so creamy and silky and added the perfect amount of sweetness from the mango. The matcha flavor was strong and had a grassier taste, which I love because I am constantly let down by watered down or overly sweetened matcha lattes. One of the best, if not, THE best I've tried in the bay - I honestly think I would come again just for the matcha alone if I'm in the area. By the time we got our bentos, we were already almost done with our matcha (we had to force ourselves to not down it all lol). The presentation is so pretty, a true work of art! We ordered the duck bento and truffle salmon bento. Although it was yummy, we agreed it was overhyped. Nothing to complain about other than the price and wait, it was tasty and we were satisfied with the meal. There are certainly other sushi spots in SF that have significantly less of a wait and a better bang for your buck. There is very limited seating inside and it gets crowded, so I would recommend taking it to a park or back home to enjoy this meal.

It's a small little place with little to no area to sit but it's SO worth it to come here. Ordered the salmon in truffle soy and it was just perfect, absolutely delicious. The fish was really fresh and melted in your mouth and the bento had such savory sides of vegetables and mashed potato, specifically I loved the brussels sprouts. It just feels so clean, healthy, and satisfying to eat it. Friend ordered the chicken katsu and that was yummy too but I would recommend to try their salmon! Coming here again for sure! The matcha is also just as good as their food. We all got the matcha w salted cheese foam! Its hours are a little different so always keep in mind incase you crave it the days or hours they're closed (me).

Quick pickup order. Ordered online directly through their website as the prices accurately reflect in store. If you order via Doordash, the prices are marked up, probably to accommodate for Doordash's fees. Ordering through their website is very straight forward so I recommend this. You can also pre select a later pick up time if you don't want to pick up right away. When you pick up, make your way to the counter, on the right side, and let them know you're picking up as the kiosk on the front counter is self-order. Salmon in truffle soy ikura obento. One of my top two favorites alongside the chicken katsu. Raw Scottish salmon in truffle oil and house made yuzu soy dressing with tobiko, kizami wasabi, sprinkled shiso, and cured salmon roe. Served alongside sushi rice, Japanese potato salad, roasted grape tomato, roasted brussels sprouts, deep fried sweet corn, and pickled cucumber and beans sprouts. Salmon is very fresh and the flavor of the truffle oil really amps it up. Ikura is also very fresh tasting. There's a plentiful portion of rice so you can essentially have a perfect bite of rice, fish, and roe. The accompanying dishes are all tasty with my favorite being the potato salad and pickled veggie.

This place was definitely hyped up by TikTok that I felt a little let down. This place opens only until 2:30pm so we waited a good hours before we got our food.It would be nice during rush hour they closed down online orders for it to be fair. For drinks, my friends and I got a matcha latte with cold foam, mango matcha with cold foam and strawberry milk with matcha cold foam. The strawberry milk with matcha foam was delicious but the strawberry milk masked the taste so I wished there was a matcha shot. The duck bento I would suggest skipping, it was very dry and I felt the ratio of rice to meat wasn't even.We all really liked the salmon ikura with truffle oil. It was delicious as the fish they use was very fresh. It's good but I wouldn't wait an hour for this shop.

Great portions that will definitely fill you up! I got the salmon in truffle soy which I would highly recommend. It comes with bean sprouts, cucumbers, Campari tomatoes, corn, Brussels sprouts (sooo good), and potato salad. The salmon was so fresh and the hint of truffle made it taste even better. Paired it with a matcha latte that you can customize the sweetness and choose a milk substitute to make it dairy-free. Very limited seating inside so I would recommend taking to-go, eat a park, or just in the car (that's what I did!)

As a matcha lover, I found this to be one of the best matcha lattes I've had in SF. I find that a lot of places that sell matcha lattes don't use enough matcha to make up for the amount of milk, but that was definitely not the case here. It was sweetened perfectly and the flavor of the matcha itself was smooth and robust.I came here with two friends and the three of us shared two bentos which was the perfect amount. We got the salmon truffle bento and the salmon flakes bento. The sushi rice was seasoned perfectly and the salmon was very good quality. The salmon truffle was very buttery and the truffle was not too overpowering which I appreciated. The salmon flakes bento was cooked perfectly and the shiso went really well with it to cut the fishiness. I loved the sides they provided, my favorite was the daikon. It reminded me of daikon in oden which is one of my favorite Japanese dishes. The only complaint my friends and I had was the potato salad. It was the side dish we were the most excited for because all three of us love Japanese potato salad. Unfortunately, we found this potato salad to be dry and not very flavorful, but the rest of the food definitely made up for it. Overall, I found this to be a perfect place to go to get some food for a cute picnic. I think it is even worth going just for the matcha.
