Kiki's is not the best quality but it's the best value. Can get 12 pieces for dinner for $18. I got the sushi combo B. Came with nigiri and spicy tuna roll. Very big pieces and super filling so really good value for when you're craving sushi. Also got the 2 piece item dinner combo: got chicken karage and gyoza. The chicken karage was lightly breaded and fried to perfect. Not oily at all and with the lemon, it was amazing! Would definitely recommend

Decent Japanese food but honestly not sure I'd come again. Cheap happy hour items, all fried (ie: gyoza, fried oyster, fried calamari, fried CA rolls) for like $3-5. Edamame was $2. We ordered a few simple entrees just to get the Japanese craving in. Kind of disappointed with the way they made. I had the chicken teriyaki with sauce on side. The chicken was pretty thinly sliced and pretty overcooked, charred. Even with the sauce, it tasted pretty dry. The oyako-don chicken rice bowl was disappointing too. Instead of the traditional dish you'd expect with the grilled chicken, steamed egg and rice dish, they fried their chicken to a Katsu in this bowl. It was weird, unconventional and too special to consider as an authentic Japanese dish. Their batter across all fried dishes here for Katsu and the happy hour dishes, were the same - very thick and all batter, little 'meat.' The tempura mixed vegetables and shrimp was better fried - at least thinner consistency batter and lighter overall flavor. Still, not sure we were all too impressed with the slow service and 'not so authentic' Japanese we had intended.

Amazing Happy Hour Deal!!!We were on the hunt for a happy hour around 5pm on Friday when we stumbled upon Kiki. You can get a 20oz Sapporo and a sake caraf for 8 dollars! What an amazing deal! We also tried their fried California roll, crispy tofu and miso soup. Everything was grate and extremely well priced! We will 100% be back!

I had a wonderful experience at Kiki's. We ordered some hot tea, miso soup, and an assortment of sashimi and some mackerel. The fish was excellent and it was a great price point. They also don't skimp on the size of the fish they give you. This will be my new go-to place.

The sashimi combo is the best! Generous cuts of fish with delicious salad dressing and well prepared rice. It was a great price and the tea and miso were delicious. The service was fast and I love the decorations and the signature crooked window. Such a fun atmosphere!

Appreciated being warmly welcomed and seated at a table of our choice due to our wheelchair needs. The entrance door was a little heavy to hold open and navigate the chair in, solo, but otherwise the place is accessible. The high ceiling with skylights and the Ghibli decor make the place bright, spacious and fun. The service was fast and friendly, and I was especially pleased by the thoughtfulness of our server to bring an extra bowl and plate without my asking, guessing that we were sharing a couple of dishes. We enjoyed the chicken udon and firecracker roll, and -- from peering at the colorful spread on a neighbor's table -- plan to get a bento box next time. A pleasant lunch spot.

The price is reasonable and happy hour specials are good. Favorite item were the sausage skewers which had a nice char. Only problem is that when I ordered the oyakodon it was not what I had in mind. The dish is supposed to be braised chicken covered in dashi soft scrambled eggs. What I got was essentially chicken katsu with an over hard egg on top. Not exactly what I was looking for. But otherwise the rice was good. I'd be willing to try again, but probably not for the oyakodon.

TLDR:Came here for lunch specials as a reward after a long doc appt up the hill at UCSF Parnassus. They've got your usual sushi rolls with a flare of standard SF creativity (ie 49er roll, etc), and are especially good lunch options/deal if you're into variety provided by bento boxes.Short and sweet, yet slightly longer:I would call this a neighborhood, family oriented sushi joint with a side of anime. We walked in and easily grabbed a table for two midday and while I can imagine it gets busy at peak dinner time, I can also imagine table turn over is fairly rapid as it's a big open room with many tables. There were many to-go orders that were picked up during our ~1hr meal, so I also imagine a lot of their business is due to the apps/people not wanting to leave nearby homes.Miso was salty and loaded with kelp+tofu, fish was fresh, and they had plenty of fried and sauced rolls which as the type my boyfriend loves the most.I won't turn down a proposal to return to Kiki, and at the same time - I will not go out of my way to get to Inner Sunset for Kiki.

Came here on a Thursday night and it was not crowded at all. The decor includes stills from Studio Ghibli films which I thought was cute. The waitstaff were all kind and prompt.I got the Tempura Udon. I thought the udon noodles were very nice and had a good chew to them. The broth was pretty standard. The tempura were nicely fried, however after eating a few pieces, I felt that there was a lot of oil from then and could not finish them all. It may have been because of the sheer quantity of tempura they included with my order though. Overall, a decent Japanese restaurant.

Average sushi but great price; honestly great value for a tray. Nigiri was actually pretty good, salmon and hamachi were probably our favorites. Although the sushi wasn't the best quality, we were able to get full from it, which is hard to find at a reasonable price. It checks the box for a lot of sushi at a reasonable price. Fried calamari was pretty good though, crispy fried batter and the squid wasn't overcooked/rubbery.
