I actually stumbled upon this spot randomly while walking in the area, and had to try it. Didn't look a single review prior; I just took a leap of faith. I got a cheese slice, and it's easily one of my favorite D-Style slices I've ever had. It's fluffy, the ingredients are well balanced, and worth trying. In regards to the service, it's a spot you have to order and pay at a kiosk, then they just give it to you, so it feels a bit 'impersonal', but such is life these days with most things. There are a few spots to sit and eat at, but it's not a true 'dine-in' spot, so don't expect to show up with a large pizza party. The cheese slice was just over $7, so it might be in your best interest to get an actual full pizza for the sake of value. Overall, it's a good pizza, and worth trying! Very impressive for the D-Style-In-California category!

A small shop on Market St that is one of the few hopes for folks looking for a late-night casual bite in FiDi. There's one table inside, but mostly grab-and-go. This is Detroit-style pizza, so the slices are thick and chewy - I've been a couple times; think the Sweet Bianca is worth a try (ricotta and fig jam) for something unique, but overall I don't love the pizza. It's neither pillowy nor crispy and the sauce doesn't taste that fresh. But I also generally prefer NY slices so make of it what you will! The service is decent but the price is expensive -- it's like $13 for a slice and while it's substantial, that's still kind of too much.

If you're looking for good pizza, this place is it! There's a display case with all the different choices that you can choose from, though for some reason there are some items that they offer in person, but not online when you're ordering a take-out order in advance. Nevertheless, when you arrive, there are a few bench seating outside and a few more 2-tops and counter seating inside, not a whole lot of space if you have a large party. When ordering, it's all on your own with the touch screens; the workers are mainly there to make the orders, not necessarily take the orders, though they do help out if you flag them down with a question or two. The orders are made quickly and efficiently. I thoroughly enjoyed the Bacon Me Crazy pizza. Crisp crunchy-cheese crust on the outside, with just the right amount of toppings. That Blood Orange Soda is everything! The only miss on this visit were the garlic knots and cinna knots. The garlic knots didn't come with marinara sauce as we had thought, same with the cinna knots and lack of that side of choc chip cream cheese. In addition to that, the garlic knots were way too salty for my palate and the cinna knots had an interesting herby star-anise aftertaste to it, I can't put my finger on, though I also didn't care for. Other than that, I would definitely return again to try out the different flavors of pizza they offer!PS - The Lark next door serves this pizza too. Looks like they have a partnership which I think is super smart in terms of covering food cost and labor.

Finally found legit Detroit-style pizza in SF! Joyride Pizza absolutely nails it with their perfectly crispy, caramelized cheese edges and that signature thick, airy crust that Detroit-style is famous for. The pepperoni pizza is a standout - those crispy-edged pepperoni cups curl up just right, creating little pools of flavor that complement the robust tomato sauce. What really sets this pizza apart is the layering - cheese goes right to the edges of the pan, creating that amazing crispy cheese crust that Detroit-style pizza is known for. The proportions are spot-on: generous but not overwhelming, letting you actually taste each component. Pro tip: Those corner pieces are gold! The cheese caramelizes against the pan creating this amazing crunch that pizza dreams are made of. Great addition to SF's pizza scene. Will definitely be back to try their other offerings!

The pizza here was ok, nothing really special. I ordered the Meatzza. The pizza itself looked better than it tasted: kind of bland. The pepperoni wasn't very good either.

After a day at the Giant's game, we were heading to Bart when we decided to stop in for a slice of pizza from Joyride Pizza. The selections of slices were fresh and brightly colored and it smelled spectacular. I ordered the cheese pizza and had them add artichoke hearts, arugula, extra cheese and olives. The inside of the establishment is very small and with a party of 6, we were advised we could take our food next door (or they could deliver when done) to the nearby bar and enjoy our slices and drinks. The crust was thick with a crunchy crust on the bottom and the inside of the crust was soft and cooked perfectly. The arugula was a wonderful addition which added a bite to compliment the rich flavor of the cheese and the zestyness of the artichoke heart. The sauce on the pizza was not put on too thick and heavy, it was just right amount. The 3 slices of pizza we ordered (there were 3 of us) were put in 1 box and when my niece and I were done picking at our slices, my Hubby managed to finish our discarded crusts and the lingering olives and arugula leaves.Just until recently, we did not have anything in our area resembling this type of pizza. I am a fan of thick crust and this pizza spot made me a super-fan. I even spoke about taking Bart out to grab a slice, it's that good/ By the way, the staff was very nice and friendly and pleasant. Great Job!

I was staying in Union Square and my family decided that they wanted pizza for dinner. I checked my Ubereats app and saw that they had a B1G1 free promo on several pizzas. Heck ya I like a good deal. I was 3 blocks away and they were unable to deliver so I walked over to pick up my order. I ordered 2 Buffalo Chicken Pizzas and 2 Sweet Bianca Pizzas. Buffalo Chicken Pizza was pretty good. It had fresh toppings big chunks of chicken. It tasted like Franks Red Hot sauce was drizzled over the top of the pizza. The dough was thick and soft. The pizza was big. I was only able to eat 4 out of the 6 slices. Pizza leftovers is always nice. The Sweet Bianca Pizza was delicious. The ricotta cheese topping was very sweet. I could only eat once slice as it was too sweet for me. I would try this Joyride Pizza again.

Pretty decent pizza. They have a good variety and not just "the basics". I ordered the a half Sweet Heat Pineapple and a Mt. Valley Sparkling Spring Water via their kiosk (only way to order, they don't have a register). The pizza was ready in under 5 minutes. Good place to go if you're in a hurry. They gave me a Topo Chico water (which wasn't even on the menu)... I don't think they had the one that I had ordered.Very small place and mostly designed to take out. They had just a few tables and less than 10 chairs inside. More seating was outside. The pizza was pretty good. VERY spicy because they use fresh Serrano peppers. I don't think I got cilantro on the pizza like the menu listed, I'm pretty sure it was parsley. If it was cilantro, it was the most flavorless cilantro I've ever had. The pizza was slightly greasy.Overall, not a bad place for a quick pizza. I wasn't expecting the best pizza ever. I'd go again.

After and evening of adult beverages we decided to grab 4 Joyride Pizzas and take them back to our hotel. I know that sounds like a lot but each person got their own and it was not too much. You could share one but it wouldn't feed more than two people. A friend recommended them saying this is their favorite pizza establishment the city. I can see why they like them. The focaccia dough here is incredibly unique and delicious. I have never had a pizza like it.I ordered the Sweet Bianca and I enjoyed it. The flavors were interesting and it was better than I thought it would be. The leftover piece I had in the morning was actually even better than the night before. I was also able to sample the Buffalo Chicken but I was not a fan. One person in our group actually tossed theirs after only one slice because they said it was just "way too much bread and very little toppings". Also, the price is a little excessive. We spent over $100 just on the pizza. Still, the staff was nice and although the reviews were extremely mixed amongst the group, I definitely enjoyed my food.

Ordered the 05) Meatzza with no cheese (top) 02) YOLO 'Roni Pepperoni (bottom). Both were not flavorful and just plain tasting. The meatzza had barely any sauce (especially considering we ordered it with no cheese). The bread/dough was not cooked and tasted like it never went in the oven.
