Let me start this off by saying my boyfriend declared that the Tom yum broth is so good, this is his new favorite spot. So you gotta try that. I was amazed at how much they made in house: the dipping sauce, the cilantro Wagyu dumplings, the shrimp paste, the meatballs, the ice cream sauce and the watermelon juice. And it was all FIRE. The meat and seafood quality is insanely good as well. The Wagyu and shrimp were our favorites. The snacks were yummy and great to fill in while food is cooking! I loved the Takoyaki fries but the bf preferred the chicken karaage. The interior is so cute, like a Japanese izakaya with a slight homage to cats. Very vibey. The server was really sweet and helpful as well!

Showed up exactly when they opened and so glad we did as they had a few spots open for walk-ins. Then 30 minutes later the place was packed. What we also love about this place is the parking on Geary is so easy to find street parking. They have options for AYCE and AYCE w/drinks. As my girlfriend doesn't eat much we opted for the A la Carte and it was the perfect amount since the portions they give you for meat is definitely a lot and most places would skimp along with not being of good quality. But the quality here is some of the best. Personal preference, but highly recommend the Sukiyaki Broth as it'll perfectly flavor any veggie and meat you swash it in. Don't forget to also ask for Sesame Sauce on the side its one of the freebies that's not known. Service is also one of the best as they're always walking up and down the aisle assisting customers. They had made a mistake of bringing lettuce when I asked for Bok Choy and made the change real quick. Jin Pot will probably be my girlfriend and I's go to spot whenever we go into San Francisco

We were craving Shabu shabu, and wanted to try somewhere new and this was one of the few spots open for lunch on the weekend. $41 for AYCE, well worth the price for admission. Easily, this is one of my favorite shabu spots I've been to. They have so many broth choices so we went with the spicy garlic miso on one side, and the sukiyaki on the other. Both were so some of the best I had. The Wagyu meats were all tasty, and the veggies were fresh. They had some hot appetizers, the gyoza and chicken karaage were my favorites of the bunch. For dessert, they give you a scoop of vanilla ice cream with sea salt and other toppings, it was so good after a meal like this, I had to stop myself for asking for seconds lol A couple things we asked for that we didn't see on the menu was their sesame dipping sauce and a side of fresh jalapeños. Definitely recommend asking for both because both elevated our meal. When we arrived, we were the first table sat. They asked if we had reservations, but we didn't. Either way we were able to get seated right away. Next time though, definitely make the reservation via their Yelp page bc it got busy quick and they had some available day of. The vibes inside they were playing old school r&b which was cool. It's perfect for groups of 1-6TLDR: Great food, value, and service from this AYCE spot, would definitely come back again.

Great experience, would love to go back for another round of AYCE.We went in on a Saturday at 4:30 and it wasn't too packed. The servers were attentive but not the speediest. They were playing good music and the decor is cute. We did 3 rounds of ordering, but I'm sure you can ask for quicker rounds. The spicy garlicky organic soy milk broth is the way to go. Our favorites were: lamb, seafood bundle, spinach, and the tsumire (both the black garlic and fresh sweet corn were yummy). Honestly everything tasted fresh. They don't have any peanut based dipping sauces, but did offer sesame paste as an alternative. Make sure to ask for ice cream at the end!

Ready for an endless feast of shabu-shabu in the coziest cat-themed spot in town? Dive into the divine at Jin Pot! From their umami-packed broths to the premium cuts of American Wagyu and Black Angus beef, every detail screams quality. Favorites to try:- Starters: Takoyaki Fries, Chicken Karaage- Broths: Spicy Garlic Miso, Tom Yum, Sukiyaki, Tonkotsu - Proteins: Wagyu Kobe Beef, Kurobuta Pork- Desserts: Kinako Ice Cream Savor top-tier meats. The Premium Wagyu Kobe Beef is richly marbled, offering a melt-in-your-mouth texture, while the Premium Lean Wagyu provides a slightly firmer bite without sacrificing flavor. Their Kurobuta Pork, is thinly sliced yet flavorful. For seafood lovers, the Seafood Deluxe has a fresh selection of exquisite shrimp, fish fillet, mussels and clams.Broths I tried: the Sukiyaki broth is sweet and savory, creating a perfect harmony with the premium meats, while the Tonkotsu Pork Bone broth, simmered to creamy perfection, forms a rich base that enhances every other ingredient dipped into it.Whether it's a chill night out or a special date, Jin pot shabu offers a comforting embrace with its warm atmosphere, great service and deliciously crafted menu. Can't wait to go back for more, especially their $36 AYCE Happy Hour 5-6.30pm on weekdays.

I'll preface this review by saying this may be a worthwhile meal for big eaters, particularly meat eaters who opt for the AYCE menu at $41 for their cheaper option. My group didn't have a particularly big appetite for dinner so we opted for the a la carte. I don't go out for hot pot very often and I'm reminded why after a trip to Jin's. Each meat place was pricey for the portion; at $18 for a plate of pork, you could get better quality meat and a larger portion from the grocery store. However, I think they offered decent portion size for vegetables, fish balls, etc. The broth is usually the best part of any shabu meal, but they missed the mark with the sukiyaki and pork bone broth. The sukiyaki was too sweet and the pork bone broth was bland. I'd also pass on the takoyaki fries. It was nothing special, just a plate of fries with a little dressing of takoyaki sauce, mayo, and bonito flakes. The service was okay but make sure to take a picture of what you selected on the menu before giving it to the waiter. There was a slight mix up on our order, but it was addressed rather quickly. I appreciate that the waitress brought each of us a serving of ice cream for celebrating a birthday!

Service 4.5/5Service is great, they're very attentive and will come by frequently to see if you need to order your next rounds. They were pretty strict on the 90 minutes window for ayce despite having only half the restaurants filled. They have happy hour for $36/person from M-F 5-6:30pm! Food 4.5/5Wagyu Beef was very good and nice marbling. Have lots of options including seafood and meat/shrimp paste. A variety of appetizers you don't see at other hot pot places! I loved that everything came out in small portions so you don't overeat/waste. I wish there were enoki mushrooms and tofu bean curds. Check in on yelp for $1 small hot sake! Ambiance 4/5A nice cozy spot for shabu. Vibe is good and lots of art decorations. Can be quite noisy and hear all your neighbors' conversation as all the tables are white close to each other.

My friend and I came here to check out their happy hour $36/person from 5-6:30pm. Good thing we got here at 5:10pm, because the deal only works if you're done eating by 6:30pm. The sign didn't make that clear and probably dupe people to come in around 6pm but not able to finish eating by 6:30pm. It was $46.14 each person even with the happy hour deal, including tax, tips, and SF health care mandate. The decorations inside are very cute!It was a great selection of food! We enjoyed 2 plates of chicken karagge, 1 plate of gyoza, and fried fish balls for appetizers. We picked the Japanese broth tonkatsu and sukiyaki. We had different types of beef, seafood deluxe, octopus, house made meatballs, squash, seaweed, and udon. It was too much food and I stuffed myself too much, so I recommend not ordering the udon, octopus, and meatballs. The Japanese meatballs tasted odd to me. I should've ordered the vegetable combo, more meat, and more appetizers instead. Definitely order the chicken karagge cause that was bomb!!

Came here for dinner around 8pm on Sunday and was seated right away. You can either choose A la carte or AYCE so we chose AYCE. My boyfriend and I like the same broth so it came in one pot but they give you the option to choose two different flavors in a split pot if you'd like. The portions for everything except the meats were fairly small but there was no item limit per order which we liked. Parking was very easy but on a Friday or Saturday night I would recommend giving yourself enough time to look for parking since the restaurant is right on Geary. The free scoop of ice cream at the end was a plus!
