I enjoyed my time here! Food was excellent especially with the wine/sake pairing . The courses were brought out timely and the staff was attentive -making a point to review because it's rare these days where I enjoy the entire dining experience! thanks!

Went here for Valentine's Day. First off parking in the area is horrible, however there is a parking lot right next to the restaurant that only cost $15. The restaurant was nice inside, really appreciated that we were able to sit at the bar. They were behind that night due to being understaff so no one answered when we called to tell them we were running late. In addition, it took a while to get seated...The prie fixe menu was $100 pp, think it's $85 pp on a regular night. Food overall 3/5 - My favorite dishes were the maitake mushrooms along with the milk and honey panna cotta. The oysters were a bit fishy, they didn't let the steak rest so it bled all over the plate. So there were pros and cons.Drinks overall 5/5 - They had a nice variety of sake and wine. My partner and I enjoyed what we got plus they let us sample other alcohol. Staff - amazing. They were so kind. They taught us so much about the restaurant and the dishes. They also comped all the drinks. Even though they were swamped. They took the time to make sure our expensive was personalized.Bathroom - I had so much anxiety with the lock, the door can still partially open with the lock they had.

If I had to describe the food in one word: salty. Most of the dishes were over-seasoned to the point where it drowned out any other flavors. The one exception was the hoe deopbap (Korean chirashi), which was fresh and well-balanced but that alone wasn't enough to save the meal.Beyond the seasoning issues, our host mentioned a theme of nostalgia for the menu, but it felt like they were trying too hard to add meaning to the dishes without actually delivering on it. Instead of a thoughtful, well-executed experience, it came across as trying to be deep rather than being deep.Service was also mediocre at best. We had to remind the staff to bring our dessert, only to find out they had forgotten to put in the order entirely. No real apology, just a quick, "It'll come out quickly." Not exactly the experience you want, especially on Valentine's weekend. For the price and concept, I expected better execution.

- A Mixed Bag of FlavorsI had a somewhat mixed experience at Jang. Most courses were good, but there were a few misses. The seaweed on the sashimi dish was disappointingly not crispy, and the raw sashimi itself was just okay - nothing special. The mushroom dish didn't stand out either, just acceptable. The beef in the meat dish was chewy and didn't meet expectations, though the side dishes were a rollercoaster of flavors - one too sour, another too salty, and one that was just right. However, the highlights were the steam fish dish, which was incredibly tender, and the not-so-sweet dressings that accompanied the courses, adding a nice balance to the meal. The ambiance is casual with a minimalist decor, Service was fantastic, making the dining experience more pleasant despite the food inconsistencies. Overall, if you're looking for some hits and can overlook a few misses, Jang might be worth a visit.

First off I wanted to start by saying that service was amazing! Every meal and sake was explained to us and it made us excited to eat. We went for the Valentine's Day set dinner and the vibes were romantic and chic. A couple of the dishes were a little salty for me, but most of the set was amazing and comforting, and it made me feel like the chef was putting a spin on Korean dishes that he would eat in his home growing up. The tasting was 7 dishes including dessert for $100. The cherry on top was the sake that was so well paired with our meal.

I stumbled upon Jang's page while looking for a last minute place to eat. I was greeted by a lady as soon as I enters and seated immediately. I got the oyster and caviar add on with our set menu. The food was served at a really good pace, and we cleared our plates really fast. I really liked how each dish had different textures. I really enjoyed the acidity of the food, and it kept me wanting more. My fav dish was probably the dessert! The creamy coffee foam on top of panna cotta was so tasty. Furthermore, every dish was unique and delicious. I can't wait to return when they've a new menu. I feel like Jang had better food than a few popular Korean fine dine I've had in SF. I see a lot more potential for them to grow.

Pay attention to the bill! 20% service fee is already added.Besides ^ which we almost didn't realize, the food was pretty good and filling. I especially liked the wagyu strip - it's so tender and flavorful, probably cooked for a long time as the meat is rich with flavor from the sauce. I liked the cod as well, surprisingly good with the lightly spicy sauce. As a heavy coffee drinker, I liked the dessert as well which is essentially pudding with coffee flavored foam. The restaurant is pretty modern and clean. Not the best area in Hayes but worth a visit!

Pretty spacious and clean fine dining experience priced on the more affordable side. Walked passed the restaurant on accident looking for it as it's tucked away behind a small door with blinds but when you walk in the place is dim lit and modern.Parking around isn't too bad as there's a lot right next door.Service was attentive at the beginning as we were the first ones in there but throughout the night when more parties showed up it started to drop off. Ordered their tasty menu with supplements and would highly recommend the supplement portion as the course sizes aren't as big. Definitely felt full having the extra sides. Each dish was made with fresh ingredients and explained very well. Highlights Short rib: super flavorful and charred nicely Wagyu strip: cooked perfectly medium rare came out tender Black cod: super buttery and soft perfect pairing with the tomato broth with gochujangAssorted fish handroll w uni supplement: this was refreshing but wish it was split in 2 between having ordered the supplement on each persons tasting experienceLowlights: pork belly: a bit on the chewier rough sideOverall was a good experience throughout the night as a bday dinner celebration!

The first hour we were there, we were the only table, so we received attentive service. They kept refilling water even when we had 75% of our cup full. Once we paid the bill and finished dessert they checked out. Stop filling our waters and didn't clear the table of our finished desserts. It wasn't busy only four people were being served food at the time. We stayed probably around 40 mins after dessert was served. The ambiance is clean and modern. But it feels a bit empty with very minimal decor in comparison to the size of the space itself. The food did not feel like fine dining. Banchan wasn't elevated, it just tasted like normal banchan, but not as fresh as others I've had. Flavor of the pork belly and short rib was average (these were added for an additional cost. The other dishes didn't have a wow factor. It was just okay. Tasting menu was $85 per person.

Jang offers a relatively affordable Korean fine dining experience. My friend and I decided to make this one of our TGIF dinners. The tasting menu had seven courses (sea bass crudo, nectarine with furikake, albacore tataki hand roll, grilled mushrooms, black cod, wagyu New York strip and silken tofu with figs). The grilled mushroom and silken tofu were great. The crudo, nectarine, tataki and black cod were good. Unfortunately, the wagyu New York strip was a bit chewy and the jus was way too salty. I really like how the chef incorporated seasonal fruit (nectarine and figs) into the menu. Service was good and attentive. The restaurant itself is very elegant and it's relatively easy to miss the entrance from the street. With tax and tip, this was about $120 per person - it's a good value. Overall, it was a good experience but there's room for improvement.
