They have delicious unique teas-infused chocolates that were mouth-watering. Just dropped in on my way out of china town.

This review is significantly delayed, so I apologize if there has been any adjustment to the menu since when I had gone. I decided to try it out after a friend who worked in SF Chinatown recommended it, and went for the winter rose, which is dulce de leche ice cream and house made lychee rose soda. I do like chocolates too, but they were rather pricey and I decided I wanted something bigger to enjoy at the time.It was a pretty short wait for the ice cream float to be made - no line ahead of us on a Saturday afternoon. Due to the soda, it is fizzy and bubbly. While I like the flavor of the soda, I wish there was an equivalent that didn't use soda, like maybe if they had offered lychee or rose ice cream instead. I mainly only took a star off because I felt based on the size that it was more expensive than I would consider worthwhile, but the flavor itself was fine. I took mine outside to enjoy to-go instead of using the indoor seating.

Been wanting to check out Jade Chocolates for a while and finally made a visit. Comfortable shop with quite a bit of seating as well as artwork on the wall available for purchase. I visited specifically to try the chocolates, although I've also been interested in trying the afternoon tea. The chocolates are nicely displayed and I chose 6 to try - dark chocolate is my preference. Chocolates were enjoyable, but why are 6 chocolates ($26) more expensive per piece than a single chocolate ($3.75 each)? While there, we also ordered some drinks. Hubs ordered the Dalgona ($7) - strong coffee flavor and different texture with the rice crispy (?) topping. He enjoyed it. Kiddo ordered the Romeo & Juliet Halo Halo - kinda pricey at $11 but he enjoyed it. I ordered the Ube latte ($7). Appears that there was real ube bits in the latte, but both the ube and coffee flavors were very light and my cup wasn't filled all the way. Expected more for the price.

A couple of gal pals and I participated in their Afternoon Tea experience a couple of Sundays ago, a bit pricey of $75/person, but totally worth it. Request for a reservation needs to take place first, once approved, a deposit of $75 is required. Every so often Jade Chocolates changes its theme for the tea experience. This time around is the Hanami (dining under the cherry blossoms) theme. I loved the perfect balance of sweet and savory. Since everything is pre-fix, there's no need to make any decisions. I particularly liked the creamed edamame soup, sesame buttermilk scone, and the chocolate cherry cookie. There's a 90 minute limit but that's plenty of time to enjoy everything. I also bought a couple of their chocolate bon bons to-go and they're definitely quality chocolates with lots of flavor. Street parking is free on Sundays or use public transportation via BART or MUNI.Looking forward to coming back again to try a different themed tea experience. #11/2024

For my friends birthday, we booked the tea tasting experience at Jade Chocolates. We had to pay $75 to reserve the table. The experience started with a tasty Jasmine Oolong tea followed by some of their savory treats. The ambience isn't cute or what you would expect at a high tea place. It's like a casual restaurant with very small tables. The service wasn't so bad but the quality of their sweet treats was subpar and me and my friend both got a stomach bug from their food the very next day! It's not a bad experience but it's not worth the price you pay for two teas and a handful of savory and sweet treats. The sweets were unbearably sugary and we couldn't finish half of them! Save your money and do the high tea tasting experience someplace cuter with a more thought out menu! It's in Chinatown so it takes a few mins to find parking!

Jade Chocolates has been on my list since it opened its location in Chinatown during the pandemic. I'm so inspired by the owner taking risks, weathering through COVID and thriving. I came here on a work gathering and had reservations for afternoon tea. It was Alice in Wonderland themed and I was intrigued. It wasn't too busy for a Friday afternoon and we were seated right at the window with views Chinatown. The service was incredible. Everyone was very kind. The savory tower came first. It came with glass noodles, dumpling w soup, pork bao, smoked duck pancake, steamed cake, scone, paired with a peony white tea. The dumpling in soup had a strong garlic and mushroom flavor. I enjoyed it but it was on the salty side. Pork bao came with purple cabbage...I think this made it quite bitter. If the veg was pickled, it would have added more depth. Smoked duck had great flavor. Our favorites were the steamed cake & ginger scone with clotted cream and jam. Now the jam had a lemon and mui flavor which brought some tanginess to the scone. I loved that! The palette cleanser was a butterfly pea tea with lemon, coconut cream, elderberry syrup, and oat milk. This was the team favorite and I will attempt to replicate this at home amazing! The sweet tower was the crowd pleaser. Mango sago, strawberry shortbread cookies, strawberry tanghulu w mango jello, chocolate w krispies, lemon poppyseed muffin paired with English breakfast tea. My favorite was the sago and tanghulu. Overall I think it was a good experience to see how the chef infused Asian flavors into the Alice in Wonderland themed tea set. I look forward to seeing more ingenuity from Jade. Ideas: calamansi cheescake cups, taro mochis, chai tea affogato, adzuki bean pancakes. Oh I got a lot of ideas!

Jade Chocolates is a jewel in SF's Chinatown district. Their chocolates are unique and delicious. You must also have them as giveaways for Christmas - they will make memorable gifts. Call before you go there so that the proprietor can open the shop for you.

I heard great things about the tea service at Jade Chocolates and we finally made it in over the holidays- it was Victorian Christmas themed! I really liked the savory portion of the tea service- super yummy soup, salad and sandwiches. The sweets were just ok. Fruit cake was served and it was quite dense. The food took a while to come out (over 40 mins from our reservation time) and then (as nicely as possible) told us we needed to leave because they had another reservation to set up for. We were ready to leave but did feel a bit rushed as we all needed to-go boxes and needed to use the bathroom. I would definitely recommend trying this place out!

Nuanced and flavorful chocolates = Worth special trip to visitDon't visit SF much these days, but Jade Chocolates will inspire me.Was surprised to see the shop and it looked intriguing. Stopped in and looked at the menu. Appreciated the Asian and Hawai'ian influences. And a nice young guy gave us an intro to the store, the fame of their Rice Paddies, the tea service they do, and the most popular drinks. Bought a mix based on the shop person's input: Bon bons, Genmai bar, Rice Paddies, and a Halo Halo. The halo halo drink was fun-- nice combo of flavors and textures that reminded me of treats back home in the islands.I noticed the sign as we waited for our drink and realized we and another group were there at closing time. Didn't catch his name, but the shop guy was very gracious and sweet to be attentive, let us know, and not rush anyone. This would be a cool place for a Yelp Elite event. Will be back!

I've been here for afternoon tea 5-6 times, and bought chocolates online and in person. It's an absolute gem of a place, a definite must-visit when you're in Chinatown. It's a peaceful and beautiful little cafe, great to sit at the table in the window and watch the world go by. The themed tea services are unlike anything I've seen before, very creatively crafted and researched, and the food is truly delicious, not just attractive. Their teas are high quality, too (but I'm usually there for the treats). The chocolates are unique, with many with tea-inspired flavors. They also have amazing-looking drinks but I haven't tried those yet. Of the candy bars, my favorite is the genmaicha: milk chocolate with roasted brown rice and green and jasmine tea.The staff is very committed to their customers, and proud of what they have to offer. This is truly one of my favorite places in San Francisco.
