Nothing beats all the complimentary side dishes that you receive when you dine-in at Korean restaurants! Restaurants are all only take out again, but I still had to receive my Bibimbap fix. I was a little worried because I've never had take out stone pot rice bowls, but I was surprised with the quality!I ordered #11 (bbq & vegetable stone pot bowl bibimbap-$16.95) and spicy garlic chicken (mixed-$14.95).I ordered in person and was told it would be a 40 min wait (I should have called my order in). Good thing they're conveniently located in a Korean Super Market, so I got some shopping done during my wait. My order was ready early in about 30 minutes. The Bibimbap was wrapped in foil in a takeout box, so it was nice and hot when I got home. Only complaint was the egg was over cooked and the rice didn't seem to be cooked in a stone bowl, since none of the rice was crispy. Still, overall it was pretty tasty and flavorful for take out! The spicy garlic chicken was delicious! The sauce and garlic is placed on the side so that the chicken doesn't get soggy. I just placed all the sides in the box and shook it to mix to up. Finally, I was so excited and surprised that they gave A LOT of complimentary sides in my take out order!!! Overall, I'm happy with my take out order! Definitely satisfied my Korean Bibimpap craving during the lockdown!

My family and I came here for lunch. So the fried squid and the dok gug have the same number (#35) so when the waitress brought us the rice cake soup instead of the wings we promptly told her this wasn't what we wanted, she started yelling at us for not clarifying and just to suck it up. We told her we would rather not have it at all and just take it back she told us she's going to charge us anyway since it would have to come out of her paycheck. I felt sorry for her, but honestly she was rude! My brother said it was the most embarrassing moment of his life so you can imagine how many people were staring at how this played out.Food was okay. Would I come back? Probably not

Honestly, I'm a fan. Let's just start by saying we had a smalllll wait time (less than 5 mins) during a crazy brunch rush on Sunday. BUT the waitstaff of two were hustling. And there were a lot of tables. And ppl waiting after us. They used to have this amazing seafood noodle soup dish I was obsessed with, but it's probably for the better that I don't binge eat on ALL those carbs. Mmm carbs. Okay, back to the point. Seafood soondubu it was. Solid, solid choice. Especially for a NorCal location. Is it better than SoCals spots? Hell no. Is it fresh ingredients and decently priced Korean in the Bay? Yeah, sure. I mean it's sitting inside of a grocery store, after all. Sooo it better be fresh (it was btw). Despite the busy staff, the waitress was hustling. And that's all you can really ask for. She did it all with a good attitude. And came by as frequently as she could, when we had requests. I can appreciate the effort made. 4 stars!

International Tofu House is a pretty decent restaurant within the popular Kukje Korean Supermarket to grab a nice hot bowl of soondubu.I came here on a Thursday night with a party of three and we each ordered a bowl of soondubu. Other options here include fried chicken, Korean bbq meat, ox bone soup, jajangmyeon, etc. I opted for their fish egg soft tofu while everyone else went for the combination one. The meal started off with five small plates of banchan which were pretty generous in portion and came in unlimited amounts as the server was quick to refill any empty ones. I particularly enjoyed the Doraji-muchim which tastes similar to that of dried fish or cuttlefish despite being a plant root. The soondubu came with a bowl of white rice and a raw egg. I ordered their medium spiciness which I found to be a good level of spicy for those who like a kick, but don't want to be sweating by the end of it. The portion was pretty generous as mine came with a ton of fish eggs inside. The combination ones also came with a good amount of clam, shrimp, beef, and other stuff. The soondubu also comes out piping hot which is perfect for those looking to warm up a bit. It wasn't the best soondubu I've had, but it is certainly one that I enjoyed!

One of the best things about going out with my childhood friends is that a lot of times, they're just too lazy to pick where to go eat. So since it falls on me to choose, I get to pick whatever is on my list of places to try - whether it's popular and well-known, or random and obscure. "We're going WHERE?""The soon doobu place inside Kukje.""That Korean supermarket in Daly City?""Yup.""There's a restaurant inside?""Yeah, on the right.""Huh...all right, fine. Let's go."Once you get past where it is, International Tofu House (or whatever it's called) is pretty much like any other tofu soup joint. Their menu has all of the usual dishes to choose from (tofu soups, BBQ meat plates, bibimbop, noodle dishes, seafood pancake, etc.), along with various types of fried chicken as well. However, the quality of the food can't compare to my usual spots.- Spicy Garlic and Parmesan Cheese Fried Chicken...(http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/GBg3a-XQGoDA8baTPiCgYA?select=Ql608clAKsggIPbCnyrXOA#ny0vRnrjzexUVaTnqiLpQg)The three of us shared an order, and while the chicken itself was fine (it had just the right amount of crunchy batter), the mix of flavors was a miss for me. The taste of Parmesan was a little heavy, and the "spicy" sauce wasn't spicy at all.- Combination Soft Tofu Soup...(http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/GBg3a-XQGoDA8baTPiCgYA?select=Ql608clAKsggIPbCnyrXOA#UCWC48XyKqrrvAbbhVBilw)I normally avoid getting the spiciest level so that I can actually taste the soup, but this one could have used the kick. It both looked and tasted bland, and what little flavor it did have was off. Points for the fresh seafood, but the soup just didn't do it for me.As for whether or not I would come back, I'm conflicted. I would like to think some of their other dishes might not be so bad (especially other types of their fried chicken), but I wouldn't go out of my way again to come back. If I had to though, I know exactly who to call to come with me.

Grabbed a quick lunch at International Tofu House located inside the Kukje Korean Market. The restaurant was pretty busy at 1:30 pm on Saturday. The menu large and has most of the Korean favorites. We ordered the Maki roll with Miso soup, the Kim Chi Chiege (kimchi stew) and the rice cake beef soup. There were three servers and they were busy handling all the customers. The Kimchi Chiege was just OK small portions only found two small pieces of pork belly in the whole stew. The beef and rice cake soup was good and the best dish of the lunch. The Maki roll and Miso soup was ok but not worth the price. There are 5 dishes of ban chans served with the meal. I think we should have had the tofu soup but we just had it the day before. All in all a place to get some quick Korean food when you are going to the market. I did some some others with some chicken wings that looked good. Service was just OK needed to put the call button several times to get the busy servers attention. $41 before tip.

While shopping around Kukje, the roommate and I realized we'd be too lazy to cook dinner after shopping, so we decided to get some take out. We placed our order at the counter and then went to pay for our groceries. We didn't have to wait too long afterwards until our order was ready. We ordered:Kimchi fried rice ($9.95) - Came with beef and topped with a fried egg. The rice was mushy and kind of bland. Plus the egg was overcooked so we didn't get that nice runny yolk when breaking into the egg. Granted we did get it to go, but the egg was over hard by the time we got home.Ohjiunguh bokum ($12.95) - Sauteed calamari & vegetable with spicy sauce. One of the roommate's favorite dishes and the only one I really enjoyed. The octopus was chewy but tender, the veggies were cooked nicely and the sauce had a nice savory spicy kick!Combination soft tofu soup ($9.95) - Tofu boiled with beef, shrimps & clam. So bad! The soup was super bland. The beef tasted old and had an almost jerky like texture. The only good thing about this dish was the amount of clams that were in it. So many clams! But in the end, that doesn't matter if the soup itself doesn't have much flavor. I honestly didn't think the food would be this bad given it was in a Korean market, but next time, I'll probably skip ordering dinner from International tofu house.

Now the food is usually alright for supermarket food and a good alternative when you don't want to wait or splurge on other Korean restaurants in the area. Today though, when I bit into the fried chicken, the meat was dry yet the batter it was still wet inside. I also ordered one jajangmyeon, however they were skimpy with the sauce although every other visit they are quite generous. Food disappointed during this visit and the only time we were able to get any assistance was if we used the button to call over the server. I typically would excuse bad service and still tip, but combined with the poorly prepped servings I did not. I usually come here for a quick bite before work or an event and tip when the experience was good, but the middle aged waitress followed us out for the tip.Sanitary issue:When we received take out containers, the same waitress gave us the plastic containers with her hand on the inside of the container.
