Hubei Restaurant

I came here for the first time after my normal go to Chinese restaurant wouldn't even pretend to accommodate my order whatsoever. I was driving down el Camino and remembered there was always a Chinese restaurant in this location. There were three people working there in the front and they were not only nice people but all seemed like genuinely good people. I've never had their type of Chinese food before so I ordered somethings more commonly known. The prices were good for the portion size for what I ordered. Somethings are cheaper than other nearby restaurants while some are more. I was satisfied with the quality and flavors of the food that we bought. The way they took care of me, I'll be back to support them and to try more of their food. I hope this place stays in business for a long time to come. Literally the best restaurant meal I've had in a long time!! Even the mixed veggie dish I ordered without much expectation I really enjoyed! Soy milk in both sweet and salty versions! Will definitely be back for the hot dry noodles especially. I also got the cumin lamb dish and everything I got I enjoyed! Nothing missed the mark and I'm excited to try more dishes.

Absolutely amazing flavors! We had the spicy boiled beef & Wuhan hot noodles, 10/10 recommend.

Always love Hubei restaurant. Their service is very good and you can tell that the owner is very passionate about the food from her home town. The food is delicious. A favorite will be the Chinese pancakes, donuts, dandan noodles, and double cooked tofu. The ambiance is fun.

Came here with my in-laws who are from Hubei province, and had the best meal of our trip to the Bay Area! The owner of the restaurant greeted us and helped us understand the menu. We ended up ordering a bunch of different traditional Hubei dishes, including re gan mian, doupi, and a delicious soup/stew stuffed with fish and meat cakes. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted extremely authentic. Would highly recommend!

The owner (Nina?) came from Hubei and she was super friendly. She recommended a few signature Hubei dishes and they were delicious. We really liked the spicy fish head and the sticky rice dish. Will definitely come back to try more.

Absolutely the most amazing flavors! We had the spicy dumplings, honey walnut shrimp, orange chicken. It was all absolutely delicious.

Wasn't sure what to expect as I've never had Hubei food before but holy smokes I'm hooked! Prices were reasonable, owners were kind, and food was flavorful! Will be dragging my friends and family here again :-) Here's what we ordered: Seaweed with Spareribs Soup (4.5/5): this instantly comforts my soul. There's generous amounts of seaweed and spareribs, perfect for sharing. Sweet and Sour Fish Fillet (6/5): usually I don't like fish because of bones but this was boneless and addicting. The outside was coated in sweet and sour sauce, but not overly so that the sweet and sour flavors penetrated my nose and taste buds. It had the perfect crunch and the fish was soft. Must-get!!Wuhan Bean Skin (4.25/5): love a sticky rice dish to balance out the protein! Outside is tofu bean skin and inside is stuffed with sticky rice.

Hubei Restaurant was my brother n'law's choice to celebrate his birthday dinner. My sister made reservations for our large group. We were welcomed warmly by the staff and owners (I believe). Restaurant was tidy and decorated quite nice.My brother n'law's good friends ordered all the food, and there was a lot of food! Unfortunately, I did not know the names of anything I ate. Some entrees I was not too crazy about. Others were good. A couple of the choices I really liked and would love to eat again. My favorite was a soup. I think it was the pickled fish filet soup. Tasted like no other soup I've eaten at a Chinese restaurant. Loved it!Overall, we all had a fun time. Majority of our party loved the food. Most importantly, the birthday boy was very happy with our dinner at Hubei Restaurant!
