I recently stopped by the House of Bagels, and I must say, it was a pleasantly surprising experience. As someone who loves a good bagel, I found their classic selection to be impressive. The bagels were fresh, warm, and had that perfect chewy texture that makes them stand out. I tried the everything bagel, and it was loaded with toppings just as I like. What truly caught me off guard was their deli capabilities. I didn't expect such a well-rounded menu for a bagel shop! They offered a variety of deli sandwiches that looked delicious. I decided to give the turkey club a shot, and it did not disappoint. It was made with fresh ingredients and had great flavor. The service was another highlight. The staff was friendly and attentive, creating a welcoming atmosphere that made my visit even more enjoyable.Overall, if you're in the mood for classic bagels with the bonus of a surprising deli menu, House of Bagels is definitely worth checking out. I'll be back to try more from their deli offerings next time!

Honestly the reviews on here were all so mid that we went in with low expectations but maybe that's why we thought it was better than expected. I would say the bagels aren't as fluffy and soft as Laundromat or Schlocks but I would say this place is a solid option if you're in the area because they have lots of variety & there's a huge selection of pastries as well. We got the plain and egg bagel for to-go which were both pretty tasty. Had some leftover Schmear at home so we did not try their house spreads. Never heard of a Cragel (croissant + bagel), so we ordered a Cinnamon Sugar Cragel for fun - it was a nice sweet treat but it doesn't really give bagel energy; the energy is more closer to a danish pastry if anything.

Stopped by House of Bagels in Richmond for a quick breakfast. Got there early, so there wasn't much of a wait, but be warned - the seating area is tiny! If you're planning on catching up with friends, this might not be the best spot. They have a good selection of bagels (everything, Asiago, blueberry, etc.). They also offer breakfast sandwiches, croissants, muffins, and some sweet pastries. You can customize your bagel or sandwich with a variety of cream cheeses, veggies, proteins, and other toppings. The service was quick and friendly. I ordered the Asiago bagel with lox, cream cheese, and capers. The bagel itself was a bit on the dense side, and the Asiago flavor was a little muted - I was hoping for a stronger cheesy punch. The lox and cream cheese were good, but overall, the price felt a bit high for what I got.Overall, House of Bagels is alright. If you're in the neighborhood and need a quick bagel fix, it'll do the trick. But with the limited seating and slightly higher prices, I'd probably try another spot next time.

Been coming here since the 80s. With the other bagel stores closed and only Starbucks as options for bagels, there is no other place to go on the Western half of the City.If Zach Berkowitz who went to Lick Wilmerding HS in the 80s reads this he is the one who started the addiction by taking all the remnant bagels, spreading cream cheese on them and selling them for a buck as we ran between classes in the mornings. This is truly the "City's Bagel Shop"

Lots of bagels and lots of lox...a bathroom for customers who dine in would be a good thing.

Went here in November for a dozen bagels, specifically for their pumpernickel. Not sure what happened. HOB bagels used to be decent real bagels and their pumpernickel used to be dark brown. Now they're like rolls with a hole and the pumpernickel is anemic. Not going back. Sorry they've changed.

Used to love their bagels, recently bought a few and they were like rolls with holes, not bagels. Heard they steam and no longer boil. If this is true I won't be buying any more. Bagels need to be boiled to have the nice density and chew. Open to being proven wrong.

What happened? This used to be one of our favorite places for breakfast. Went today, and absolutely everything we got was under baked, barely toasted, and even the coffee was undrinkable. I will not be going back
