I have always been able to get a seat every visit, but sometimes it can get crowded during dinner time depending on the day. The vibe is causal and perfect for groups. When you get seated in, they usually give you complimentary papad and chutney. This helps pass the time while ordering and waiting for food. We ordered the chicken chili momos (must try!), chicken curry, onion naan, and garlic naan. The momos are perfect to share, sooo flavorful and filling. The curry was spicy and had the perfect kick. I liked that we could customize the spice level for our dishes. The onion naan was very soft and the bits of onion added a nice bite. The garlic naan was a classic and also delicious. Left perfectly full and satisfied with both the experience and meal.

Stopped by Himalayan Cuisine SF on the way to a show and overall it was a pretty good experience. Let's get into it...Ambiance - The restaurant is fairly cozy, so it would likely be best for small groups or couples. A larger group could eat here if they timed it right and they combined tables. Decor is nothing fancy, but it had an overall nice vibe.Service - This is where I take one star down. Perhaps it's because I was stressing about making the show on time, but the service here was a tad slow. I also noticed another table getting their food before us despite us ordering before them. Had we not been in a time crunch, I probably wouldn't have minded as much. From the time we ordered, it took about 30-40 minutes for our food to come out which seemed like a long time. Food - The food itself was great. The one plus you could chalk up to the long food prep time is that you know they're making it fresh. My wife had the thali plate and I had a mixed veggie dish and both of us liked our food. Overall, it was a solid experience and with better time management I would definitely come back again. Good food; good people.

Grabbed dinner here with friends and was pleasantly surprised! We were seated immediately and given complimentary papad with green and red chutney to start off :) about 20 minutes later, the place was packed! The servers were attentive to all and kept filling our water. The onion and garlic naans were soft and cut into quarters making it easy to share. We ordered the chicken curry with medium spice and it was flavorful, spicy and the chicken was very tender. But the star of the show had to be the himalayan chicken chili momos! They were delicious... pan fried so crisp on the outside and the filling was sooo yummy. It came with 10 momos mixed with some onions and bell peppers. I highly recommend trying out any of the momo dishes!

What an extensive menu! There's something for everyone here. I loved the veggie chow mein - it was a huge portion and very savory/satisfying despite not having any meat! I had the Saag Paneer for my main, which could've used a little more flavor or spice. It didn't taste like much but the texture was nice. Portion size was very generous as well. I also chose to pair it with the garlic cheese naan, loved the cheese filling but wish the dough was a little fluffier. All in all, I'd definitely come back for the large portion sizes and kind servers! They were very accommodating and patient.

Decent food with ok prices, the service was good too. I thought they could have improved on the depth of flavor first one of the masala's tbh... Better for take out most likely. The decor was meh, lackluster.

Delicious food. I'm not pretending to know Indian/ Napalese food well but this restaurant served many typical Indian dishes. The service was so warm and welcoming. It seemed to be a family owned business. The ambience was a typical casual restaurant, not overly decorated. - Veggie momo: I have a momo obsession and I tried many places from Bini's to The Basecamp, etc. This place had a great filling and dipping sauce. The dipping sauce was more nutty, less tomato-y. The skin was a tad thick at the top but still great. - A mashed eggplant dish: very delicious. It surprised our table.- Dahi Puri: best when fresh. It tasted homemade. They could add a little more tamarind. I preferred it to ve a little more tangy. They also served chutneys and papadam on the table free of charge. How nice of them!I would definitely be back.

Himalayan Cuisine? Okay I'm open minded. Count me in. I've walked by this place a million times and this day I was feeling adventurous. I wasn't disappointed. The people in here are incredibly nice. It's super low key and very hole in the wall. A nice quiet place to eat in a very busy area.As far as the food, I got the chicken chilli momo and garlic naan. The momo I think is just their version of a dumpling. These were really good but the portion size was not enough. I could have eaten 37 of these no problem. The garlic naan wasn't great. I'm led believe this place knows what it's doing. I'll most likely be back. Good work everyone.(4.1 Stars)

My boyfriend and I decided on this place for dinner one night based on the good yelp reviews and the fact that it was walkable from our new place and it did not disappoint! First off, the server was so nice and attentive! Although he wasn't super talkative(I actually preferred this haha) he came to check on our table and a few times and always made sure our water glass was filled.Onto the food! We were given a small appetizer of some papadum and dipping sauce on the house which I thought was such a nice touch! The chips were delicious! Nice and savory and had a really good crispiness to them. They also went really well with the mint and tamarind dipping sauces. For our entrees, we order the lamb thali and the chicken thali. Both were so good and had a nice mix of a little bit of everything! The curries were both so flavorful and the meat was extremely tender. My least favorite thing on the plate was the dal(lentils) but I don't think I've liked it any time I've had it so I'm probably just not a dal gal lolOverall, 5/5 experience and I'd definitely come back to try out some of their other dishes!

I love the food here! I've never had Himalayan food before but after eating here it feels like a mix of Indian and Chinese food. I really like their Chicken Tikka Masala. Their Tandoori Paneer Kabob was also good. It was also nice to try their Vegetable Thali. The service was also really great here. They are attentive. We requested more time to browse the menu, but we didn't need to flag them down again to put in our order--they just showed up a few minutes later and took our order. Also when it came to packing leftovers we didn't have to ask for boxes. They came by the table and dropped some off.As for the restaurant itself I like how they accent the restaurant with a bright orange. It's not the most modern-looking restaurant but I feel that makes it feel homey. Also they have 1 bathroom in the back.I thoroughly enjoyed this place and definitely will come again if I'm in the area.

Excellent chicken tikka masala here. I was pleasantly surprised by the free appetizer: pappardum with mint and tamarind chutneys.
