Hey Tea

The drinks and ambiance are consistent with the other U.S. and Asia locations (They are all good!). However, it was very busy when I went there on a Sunday around noon, when both the app and kiosk did not accept orders. But, they still take orders from the counter. :)

I came here with my bf on Friday. We arrived a little before 6pm and fortunately, the line wasn't too long. After placing our order, we waited about 10 minutes for our drinks. I'm typically a milk tea girl, but I wanted to try one of their fruit teas. I opted for the Mango Grapefruit Boom - slushie version with minimal sugar. This drink was good. It was basically dessert in drink form. I liked the different textures - from the mango chunks to the sago (I think?). Even though it was a slushie, it was still smooth and creamy.This was my bf's second time here (my first time coming with him). He ordered the same drink as before, Milk Tea Bobo Shake. He loves this drink. I don't think I've ever had a milk tea shake before, but this one was pretty good. The boba itself had a good balance of softness and chewiness. I actually got to try one of the matcha drinks when my bf came the first time without me. He brought me the Matcha Jasmine Latte, and wow, they do not skimp out on the matcha. It was strong, and I really liked it. On the other hand, the jasmine was subtle and I couldn't really taste it. Nonetheless, I would definitely get their matcha drinks again.

Everyone I know swears by Hey Tea's matcha and says its some of the best they ever had so I had to stop by one day to give it a try. This Hey Tea at Westlake is super busy. They had a lot of staff working and for good reason. I do wish they had more kiosks, but the ordering process is still pretty simple and like most boba shops. The inside has some seating, but not a ton. I ordered the Cloud Matcha Latte ($7.99 total). The price is a bit steep, but the drink was good. The foam really compliments the matcha and you can really taste the matcha flavor. I think my expectations may have been too high because it was good, but not mindblowing. I definitely have to try their other drinks in the future especially their teas which is what they specialize in.The staff seem friendly overall especially considering they have to handle a constant rush and chaotic environment. If I'm ever in Daly City this would definitely be high on the list of boba shops I would go to.

Another tea chain from China! Be prepare to wait, the line is quite long. They have carefully curated menu with some really good items. I got the grape to compare to the one at grapeholic in Millbrae and both were equally so good. The quality of their cups, labels and ingredients are well thought out that makes the experience more premium.I would recommend either coming super early or right when they're about to close to avoid waiting for a long time.

Although I usually don't go for fruit tea, I wanted to see what all the hype was about. For my first order, I got 15% off in their app. Although it's a bit annoying to have to download yet another app, I like that I can see a breakdown of each drink and possible modifications and add-ons that they don't ask you in store like free extra matcha, free tea jelly, and free lemon slices! Their online ordering seems to be turned off during weekends though, as it's set to "We are currently busy" at all hours. I don't have a mango sago drink to compare it to, but the mango grapefruit boom tasted refreshing. I loved the silky smooth coconut milk jelly. This slushie had a nice fine ice texture and wasn't chunky at all. The bobo milk tea was creamy and sweet. The matcha jasmine latte with free extra matcha was yummy, but it doesn't beat the equivalent from Molly Tea. This location's a bit out of the way, but I'd come back for their fruit "boom" drinks.

I recently visited Hey Tea, and I have to say, it's definitely a popular spot. The lines were long, which is to be expected given how well-known the brand is, but honestly, while the drinks are good, they're not as special as the hype suggests. I've had Hey Tea several times in China at different locations, and while I'm glad they've extended their reach to America, the experience doesn't feel much different. The ambiance is modern and casual, and the drinks themselves were good--refreshing and satisfying. However, I couldn't help but notice that it wasn't as clean as I'd hoped. Some of the chairs were even broken, which didn't give off the best impression. It seems like they might need more hands on deck to keep things running smoothly considering how popular they are. Overall, Hey Tea is a decent spot for a good drink, but the buzz might be a little overrated. It's worth trying if you're curious, but don't expect it to be life-changing.

Long wait time for drinks but it's helpful that they have a tv monitor displaying order statuses. Highly recommend ordering online through their app to skip the long lines.I tried their mango grapefruit boom which was creamy, and already came with sago topping and a jelly like bite. Loved it. Although many would say the price point is high, the quality and flavor definitely holds up.There's a few seats and tables inside but it's busy and blenders running so better to grab your drinks, and go about your day. Park the home depot side since it's closer and less crowded.

I love this tea shop so much!! I get the hype. So far I have loved the drinks I had which is mainly two drinks so far. I haven't expanded beyond these two drinks but maybe some day... I always get the matcha Jasmine (add extra matcha and light sweet) and the mango grapefruit bloom (light sweet as well). You can make more adjustments when you order from the app or kiosk which is pretty cool! When I order in person, I let them know my adjustments. You can really taste the actual fresh ingredients and I love that about their drinks. Will have to see their other drinks but so far it's a favorite!The line can be pretty long during the weekends but came on a random weekday during lunch hours and no line! Can't wait to go back!

Wanted to give this place a second try since my first visit, My grape drink had an infestation of grape seeds. Listen, I don't care if this place is the hottest boba place right now. It's already a headache that they have a long line and a queue. But it's beyond comprehension that they haven't figured out a way to expedite or assure that numbers are being called out and orders are being given to the right people. 30 mins of waiting on my drinks, and i've noticed that they're calling numbers over 20+ mine's. Talked to at least 4 people which all said my drinks aren't ready yet. You can literally see the same drinks I ordered being handed out to other people. End of story, they were unapologetic, probably gave my order to someone else since I can tell that they have to re-order it and put back in queue. There won't be a next time.

Arrived at 11:05am and we were like 9th in line lol. The ordering machine wasn't on and there was a cashier taking the order (which I think was meant to slow down the number of drink orders so that the baristas can make drinks without feeling overloaded). We ordered three drinks and all three drinks were AMAZING!! Easily one of my favorite boba spots of all time. We didn't get boba (mostly because since they just opened, I didn't want hard boba), but we tried jasmine tea jelly for the first time, and it was hit!! I'll definitely be back here or at the 4th street location!!
