I love Green Earth Natural Foods. They have more than I need for fill-in grocery shopping or a quick run to get a necessary item to make dinner, like fresh dill, tumeric or shiitake mushrooms.White truffle oil? Got itDiamond Crystal salt? Got itWorld's Best Cat Litter? Got itCanned espresso? Got itFresh coffee beans? Got itDragon fruit, eggs, scallions, pasta - Got everything All sorts of useful items big and small including the best chicken & cheese burritos and generous packets of fresh herbs from basil, dill, rosemary, oregano, mint and more. Though leaning heavily vegetarian, they stock Mary's organic chicken and other non-vegan and vegetarian items. My son grew up with this store since he was 5. He's become a vegetable-loving kid be it celery, kale and apples to make a morning juice drink or Chinese broccoli as a dinner side. He's learned about healthy food and nutrition from shopping here with me - and that's a gift that lasts a lifetime. True Blue to Green Earth Natural Foods!

Convenient! Although I do wish there was a little more selection on healthy foods to go. This is my go-to spot for eggs or sodas/non alcoholic refreshments.

We've been coming to Green Earth for years. They have an extensive variety of both local and imported products plus a produce wall, and a selection of wines, fresh breads and beverages galore. It really is your one-stop shop for groceries. The staff is very personable and if they are not part of the family (this being a family-owned business), they have been there for years which tells you the owners take care of their employees. Small business, friendly feel. If you live in the neighborhood (or even if you don') stop by and support this local business.

Four years after my last review, the problems with this place have only gotten worse, which boils down to four words that characterize virtually every single visit to this store: "They've stopped carrying it."That awesome spice that they had the last three times you went, that's great for making a satisfying weight loss tea, which you haven't been able to find anywhere else, that you even bought a spice grinder just for? Forget it. They've stopped carrying it. That unsweetened dark cocoa you've gotten hooked on over the last month?Forget it. They've stopped carrying it.That unexpectedly delicious veggie milk substitute that was better than anything you ever tasted?I hope you bought a lifetime supply last time you were there, because, they've stopped carrying it.The supplements that, while pricey here, at least save you from having to walk all the way down to the drug store at almost Geary every week? Well, get your walking shoes on, because they've stopped carrying it. That dangerously delicious miso-infused mayonnaise that's been worth going out of your way to get the last two times you were there, and now you need it for your big dinner tomorrow?Forget about it, they've stopped carrying it. You'll still shop there, because it's the only health food store left in walking distance. But you'll get there with your shopping list, and reliable, you will walk out not having bought at least one thing on that list that you went there determined to get. Because, they stopped carrying it. Every single time. The staff is still totally nice though. I really freaking wish it was possible to plan my shopping list, though, instead of them always, reliably, no longer carrying at least one thing on it. Four years since I last complained about it and it's still happening.

This is my local greengrocer. Once I discovered it I stopped going to trader Joe's. It's a family owned and run business. Kind owners who will talk to you, who recognize you every time you come in, and make you feel like this is a neighborhood. For that alone you should patronize this business. If that weren't enough they have damn fine produce, locally made cheeses, food more healthy and natural than whole foods, a wall of fresh spices you can bag, and a full supply of ice cream including the best local brands. They even have fresh Acme bread and organic wines. This is a long overdue review. But it is here now. So Keep our home a neighborhood and shop here as often as you can. It will make your heart glad and your belly happy.

Our "corner store"! It's owned by a very sweet family. We love this store for fruits and veggies. They stock their produce from their own local farm. We usually also pick up milk, eggs, bagels, and any last minute snacks we need. They have tons of vegan and gluten free frozen or refrigerated foods.

This is the best grocery in the neighborhood! It's my go to for anything I need on the spot. I'll run in two or three times a day sometimes. I'm eagerly awaiting the reopening as I've been lost without them. They have a great stock of dry goods, sauces, and frozen foods. Please stay in business, stay strong, stay safe!

I deliver groceries for a living, well now I do, I was a private chef. This pandemic has hit us all in strange ways.Thank goodness we found this store before the lockdown! Thankfully they were open for most of it. Although their shelves were pretty bare they're for a bit, they really did do the best they could! The veg was acceptable and as always they have great gluten/dairy free options, like the GF/DF pie shells!! My chicken pot pie had never tasted so good!.Like with most places they've shut down the bulk bins, it's understandable, not everyone is as conscientious as they should be about cleaning their hands...Victoria is always there with a smile and a nod of recognition. I appreciate being able to go into a store and them knowing who you are! It was heartening to hear how good they were to their employees during the first phase, paying them regular salary even when closed! Good people do that! All that said they are a bit more expensive, but it's a small family owned store so it's kind of expected... They have a great selection of organic and non organic stuffs as well as some wines and a so so collection of beers, but they do have GF beer!! Bonus

SOOOO MUCH MOLD!I really want to give Green Earth a great review. It's local, family-owned, and has a great selection of organic and healthy products. However, in my hundreds of visits over many years, I've never _not_ picked up something spoiled: fruits, greens, hummus, eggs, cheese... the bread is probably the worst: you'll be hard pressed to find a loaf that's more than a few days before expiry, and usually quite a few that are thoroughly riddled with mold. So much produce is close to or past expiry, which itself is not necessarily bad, but it should be clearly labeled as such, perhaps discounted to reduce waste, and the bad stuff needs to be tossed. The owners are certainly aware of this and seem to have no interest in doing anything about it. I've brought decayed items up to the counter so often I've lost count but they just shrug. I've brought items I've purchased back for replacement many times, same outcome. And it's not just me; all my housemates and neighbors have the same complaint.I'd gladly change this review to a 4-star (can't be 5 because they're absurdly overpriced) if Green Earth starts taking this problem seriously.
