My GO TO spot in Japantown anyway of the week! Sushi grade fish on the dishes -Mackarel, Salmon. Great Sake choices. Appetizers are awesome. Fantastic service.

This is a great little restaurant with a cool decor and a really nice vibe. Friendly service from all. We came in for an early and light dinner. Has a half dozen oysters on the half shell. Bright, fresh and delicious.We also split the hamachi truffle and chicken yakitori. The hamachi truffle is definitely one of their "go to" speciality dishes. I can see why some would absolutely love this dish. But we thought it was too truffle forward and found it just wasn't for us. Absolutely beautifully presented, though!The chicken yakitori was delicious and quite a generous portion. We didn't get any katsu, which is clearly their main event. It looked incredible, but too much fried food for our appetites that night. I'd certainly consider returning someday just to try it. We were in and out of here in just over a half hour because their service is snappy with a smile.

While visiting Japantown for the "day of remembrance" experience, which was amazing and informative by the way. We then afterwards our small group decided to find a place to eat!! Well we were walking suddenly looked at Ganji thought this place looks clean and the ambiance gives an intimate setting to have conversations and bond. So we deemed this the worthy place of indulgence. So, while coming in we were seated right away! I also noticed the decor. Warm and inviting And let me tell you the flower wall with hearts was so pretty! We knew right away we need to take a picture afterwards having our meal. The menu had lots of katsu dishes and Japanese cuisine to choose from! Everything sounded so delicious. We ordered the Chicken katsu, chicken teriyaki, and two bowls of the mushroom udon noodles! Within 15 minutes, bam! The food was hot, a well portion of a size, and presentation was nice! We enjoyed our food and every minute of our experience here! Ganji was memorable and I will be back while visiting Japan town and don't forget when you wrote a Yelp review you get free Sake! Haha Thanks Ganji from your Yelper Juliana.

We got the pork cheese katsu special that was cooked for 7 hours and the salmon teriyaki. Presentation was great. The katsu came on a sizzling plate and the salmon was plated nicely with the teriyaki sauce in the side. The katsu tasted a little over cooked/dry. The salmon was on the drier side so the sauce def helped. It came with rice and miso soup. They also had a sign that said if you leave them a review you get free sake so that's why this place has so many reviews

We had our fur baby so we had to find a place with outdoor dining. It was also a perfect sunny day in the city! Glad we stumbled upon this establishment because it was so delicious and service was fast and attentive. We ordered the chicken karaage to start and it came out fast and hot. I ordered a spicy karaage off of the specials menu. I love how it was on a sizzling platter, it had a sauce that was both spicy and sweet. I wish they had a menu or water for our pup. I highly recommend this gem.

This place is one of the best tonkatsu places I've had in the states. We made reservations for a Monday lunch date and had no problems but it got super busy around 1p. Not sure if it's cause it was the holidays.They had indoor and outdoor seating and the place is nice and clean.We all ordered the chicken katsu and it was nicely crispy with the meat being still juicy. I loved it with the tonkatsu sauce but I also tried a side of curry. The curry was a nice addition but I wouldn't get it next time as it's not as good as the golden curry box stuff lol. The plate comes with HELLA chicken (2 chicken breasts worth) and miso and pickles. The pickles were kinda strange as they were like kosher dill pickles and the usual daikon. Our server was attentive and brought us extra water in a pitcher.Overall, they load you up with food and the food is good! I'd be willing to come back and try other dishes including the one with cheese that a lot of people seem to like! Just come early or you'll have a bit of a wait.

This was my first time in Japan Town and I stopped at the first restaurant I saw. This place did not disappoint. The jumbo chicken Yakitori I got was so good, I wanted more! The service was great, the host was easy to communicate with and the ambiance was pretty quiet. There wasn't anyone in here when I came in. I would definitely come back if I'm in the area. They have a good selection on their menu.

Excellent wakame salad and crab katsu! The shop is definitely petite, so make a reservation, especially if on a busy night.
