Racist Liquor Store! I went into the store at 9pm for scratchers in uniform. First thing he told me was he closed it at 9:30pm and for me to check my watch and stop playing. I left not realizing it was only 9pm, I went back and asked didn't he tell me 9:30 when it was only 9:03? He instantly got mad and told me he doesn't have games to play. Mind you I had $50 in cash in my hand. He told me I can leave and he can stop selling scratchers whenever he wants and now he says 9 o'clock. I asked him why he wouldn't sell to me, told me he didn't have to. Told him he didn't want to sell to me because I was a black man. He just laughed. Definitely won't be coming back

The reviews are right about the man at the counter. Since there are certainly more than one person who will be in there working, he was appx 40 with dark balding short hair. Wow. First of all, this area is horrible and this store isn't a liquor store - it's a bodega with wine. Small and dirty with a lot of questionable activity around it. I asked him for his nicest white wine and he laughed at me - said they don't have any expensive white wines. (The price range went from $15-50). I asked for a suggestion and and said he doesn't know because he doesn't drink wine. Um sir, you work at a LIQUOR STORE. You don't have to drink it to learn a little and offer suggestions. I'll never set foot in here again and couldn't get out fast enough. There's another place 2 blocks away with a deli which I will go to instead.

Three steps outside the BART I stumbled into this liquor store just out of sheer curiosity. I wasn't expecting to find much other than a bottle that I might be able to enjoy during my week in the city but what I found was quite surprising. Hidden amongst the generic fifths and assorted bottles of basic spirits like vodka, gin, whiskey etc. I found a wide array of higher end spirits. They were up high, out of sight and certainly not well marked with prices. That last part left me a little bit concerned mainly because it leaves the door open to a little bit of gouging. When I asked the clerk about the bottles he was happy to Climb up the ladder and show me me that they were all tagged with prices, some of them even reasonable! The biggest surprise of their selection had to be the handful of Indian whiskey bottles that they had available for sale. This is some stuff that I have never seen before and stuff I did never even heard about. The most interesting thing about the selection here is how old some of the bottles must be. There's no way that these are recent acquisitions for the store and it just gives me more of a reason to actively check out the small independence wherever I go.Sadly I left the one bottle that was reasonably priced and highly collectible on the shelf. It will be another one that I sacrificed to the whiskey gods in hopes that I find something even better in the future.

I was staying at the Axiom and looking for a corner store type place and saw Michael T's review about the great liquor selection. It was the closest spot to my hotel so I headed over and grabbed some snacks and drinks to throw in the fridge. It's a small place but they've got the essentials plus a fairly large booze selection including beer and wine too. The owner was helpful and friendly when I came in and I was on my way in no time... very convenient if you're staying nearby.P.S. There's an ATM in there if you need cash for one of those trendy SF places that don't take cards in 2018 :)

The clerk at this liquor store was beyond rude! He rushed us to pay and his tone was not necessary! My friend asked a question about the price for something and he responded as though he was annoyed. I told my friend that we could go to another store, given the lack of costumer services skills of this man, but she had already swiped her card. Before we could even her things from the counter he yelled "next!" This establishment is so tiny that if he had whispered, all of us would've heard it. If you're in the area, go somewhere else!

Be careful of what you buy here. The chocolates they sell are past their Best Before Date. The Kinder chocolate I bought shows Aug 2020 best before date and it's November! Even their canned sodas are too. I bought a diet Pepsi tonight and the can shows July 2020. The diet soda tastes flat. Are they not checking and updating items on their shelves???

I'd say this place is just average. It's pretty safe but it gets extra sketch factor for the locale. Not much in the way of non alcoholic beverages and the guy kinda stared at me when I walked in. Guess I dont look like their typical customer. There was a lady running around with a dog in this small space so it made it kinda of a pain to move around
